The reason they probably removed the VTOL scene was because it was a crappy controlled and out of context level. Sometimes a cleanup is a good thing. Even on the PC you can ran fraps and see how it's actually less resourec intensive than most other levels.
As for Crysis 2 VS Crysis 1: one has to be on crack to actually think that Cryengine 3 running Crysis 2 is not a vast improvement from Cryengine 2 running Crysis 1. I mean, the entirety of the lighting model was redone ...
Both Borderlands and DOA are just more fun when played with other people. I don't get this article.
The point you're forgetting is that Crysis 1 also runs today on the same consoles at about medium spec - with an updated and more advanced engine then the original version on the PC. Your argument is invalid.
And this doesn't really matter: compared to Watchdog the new MGS doesn't even look like a next gen game, just like a current gen game beefed up on a high spec PC. We've seen this many times with games like Battlefield 3 and various others.
Saying that the Vita is "the most advanced dedicated gaming handheld on the market" is like saying that the X360 is "the most advanced dedicated gaming home console on the market".
What's the point of saying that when there is non-gaming dedicated hardware with far more advanced specs (any high end PC from 2007 in the case of the 360, and latest gen high end ARM based tablets/phones in case of the Vita). It doesn't have to be gaming dedicated as lo...
Actually the PS3 didn't sell that well: it came out after the X360, and in Europe after the Wii, and it's still lagging behind them.
It also didn't offer better pricing as it was the most expensive console at the time, and the lineup was considered to be mediocre simply because it was (perhaps unfairly) compared with the X360 lineup which had a full year of back catalog.
Compare and contrast to the PS2 which came out before the Gamecube and Xbox, ...
Seems to be an issue with their sign-in mechanism. The xbox marketplace on the PC browser seems to work fine - until you try to sign in to your account and then it's a bust with a runtime error.
If I had to take a wild guess... well, they're upgrading all their stuff rignt now: new windows 8, new metro interface, new xbox app on the windows store, new phone OS, outlook on the web replacing hotmail, xbox dashboard updates and whatnot - all at the same time. And they wa...
Exactly! It's all about skill.
Wait, holding from going to the toliet because the game has not "pause" button counts as a skill, right? ;)
@juggulator
Crysis3 and AC3 are not linear, but they still don't have a fraction of the scope and interactivity of Bethesda games. Things just spawn and dissappear in these games, where a game like Skyrim keep tracks of everything: from persistent AI routines and behavior, to pieces of furniture which you push around and will stay like that even if you come back to them hours later.
I wouldn't say flawless but it works pretty good. On the PC it's working just amazing, at least since 1.5.
I guess it's once again a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation: when they released Skyrim the PS3 performed quite poorly in comparison because it couldn't handle the game, and people bashed them for releasing a buggy game.
Now they're postponding the DLC release on the PS3 to make sure they can iron it out and perh...

For those who don't want to click the link.
Actually the snake in the picture above is wearing Echelon's Multi-Vision Goggles... so it must be Sam Fisher
It won't tell them what you want, but it will tell them that a lot of people do want something.
It's economics 101: the more money they get, the more budget they have to keep pumping out DLC all year long. If everyone will wait for the GOTY edition in 7.5$ it implies that people don't really care and hence there's no point for Gearbox to actually make more DLC content.
Now, obviously pre-purchasing DLC is risking your money, but based on their...
Kurt Russell is the only valid choice. Snake is based on his Snake Plissken character anyway.
It seems to me that physx and comic style don't go so well together. Physx is supposed to make things realistic, however in this Borderland demonstration it looks just like a few cartoony particle effects.
It seems like it did get tons of attention.
@from the beach, You are aware the Vanquish is a game coming from an independent developer, right? That's basically what indie is.
Bungie indeed. They were granted total freedom in a way no other studio has - It's probably the only company in the world to ever do so, and cudos to MS for actually letting them go without closing the farm.
Bungie showed the world that in order to have actual freedom you must be independent and own your IP.
Together with a few other companies, be it big independent studios like Epic, or small emerging studios like Mojang (selling over 10 million copies ...
I actually hope it doesn't. I recently played it, and Going back to that dated control scheme after all the progress we've seen in the genre during the years... well, lets just say it wasn't pleasant. I felt as if I'm struggling with the controls and missed so many of the modern concepts I got used to since then. If I could summarize the controls in one word it would be "stiff".
From GTA IV to Just Cause 2 to Saints Row 3 to the recent Sleeping Dogs,...
The article is just flamebait, yet you still DO bring Halo to a discussion about GOW in a completely unrelated way, still complain about it and still moan on "oh why is it so popular".
When are the days where stealth trolls were actually stealthy? It seems that even trolls were dumbed down for mainstream this gen.
Just to save people the bother of clicking through 3 whole pages with crappy interface for just 4 games:
5) Madworld
4) Mortal Kombat
3) God of War
2) Ninja Gaiden
1) Manhunt
I have to say it's a also pretty shitty list: In terms of graphics violence Gears of War should be right up there - it's in the tags but missing from the list. Ninja Gaiden was also not very graphicly violent until NG2 with the overly done blood. Mortal Kom...
