Gears 2 came out one year after Halo 3, so it was still very popular. Additionally, people had less choices back then because there were less games.
Halo Reach on the other hand is now 2 years old. It's still up there between MW2 and and Battlefield 3 which came out around the same time.
I rather see top 10 lists carrying over 10 pages dissapear next gen. Maybe the list is good, but I never bothered to click past the first crappy page.
But Bioware was doing the exact opposite thing: they were independent before and then they signed with a big publisher.
Pretty bad example, as it is the exact opposite move of what Insomniac are doing. Insomniac's move is more akin to what Bungie recently did when leaving Microsoft.
Not to mention, Bioware output since being acquired by EA pretty much trippled. You may not like some of their games, but when they were independent we got about 1 game over the course...
WiiUalpha, you seriously misunderstand...
I'm saying the launch sucks because it doesn't offer enough unique experiences like the Xbox 360 of PS3 offered. Most of the games are just ports
I'm saying it sucks even more because *even* the ports are not showing enough 3rd party developers rallying behind the WiiU. This signals to me as a potential customer that it's going to end up just like the Wii, with no proper 3rd party support. It would hav...
I heard the initially wanted to come up with the name "burning finger", but realized it was taken.
He designed games from Jazz Jack the rabbit, to the best competitive maps in Unreal Tournament, to the whole Gears of War concept and design - pretty much reinventing the cover shooter this gen.
He's one of the most talented developers ever, but I guess some fanboys will keep hating simply because he made a tremendously successful exclusive franchise, and it's not on their favorite platform of choice.
It gets even funnier: The article also mentions Microsoft lost this gen because it used DVD whereas at the same time it not only saved them money, but also prevented similar delays like the PS3 had.
Bluray also caused various additional issues like forced installs on the PS3 because read speed was not fast enough. Forced installs would have required the Xbox 360 to have a mandatory hard drive, making the basic model more expensive and a harder sell for people with limited bud...
If you've actually saved up since Halo 3, you should have cleared up enough money by now to buy a basic Xbox 360 console and copies of every Halo game released since Halo 3.
Come'on, a console is dirt cheap now (not to mention some places will probably give rebates on the holiday season). If you buy used copies of older Halo games You should be able to get the console with the entire Halo experience for about 300$.
Actually, Call of Duty pretty much matched, and dethroned Halo - even considering the numbers on Xbox 360 alone (in terms of both sales and active players, and probably even critical acclaim if we consider the first Modern Warfare).
And I'm saying this as someone who prefers Halo much more. It's just a fact of life.
Unfortunatelly, reading into the article it seems that the WiiU has the WORST launch lineup ever.
I am trying to think what launch game can actually encourage a holder of any current gen gamer to migrate to the WiiU, and the only game I can think of is New Super Mario Bros: Rayman was delayed (and was never a killer up anyway - check out the unfortunate sales of the previous game), Nintendo land looks like another new franchise for the casual gamer (just like every new Ninten...
This article is crap and misleading - straight from the first sentance where they claim that ID TECH 5 engine is used, where in fact it's the same old ID TECH 4 engine with some featrues added (similar to ET:QW) - but it's not a true ID TECH 5 games. The Eurogamer comparison shows it best:

Nope, it's actually more about you being a troll about saying the Xbox should be replaced and the PS3 should not as if it's actually doing "wonderfully", all while the X360 enjoyed The Witcher 2, Forza Horizon and Halo 4 this year - and that's not including XBLA.
My earlier comment was obviously sarcastic, since the PS3 had probably the worst year in terms of exclusive releases in 2012. Assuming the PS3 fanboys were intelligent enough to catch this sarca...
These are 3 pillar games, top of the top on the console. It's ok that you think one looks better than the other, but it will mostly be down to preference of art style. Each of the engines underneath is doing something slightly different and they all look awesome.
"As a gamer if the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system is not enough for you. What is your definition of next Gen"
Simple: A machine capable of running next gen engines, such as Unreal Engine 4 and SE Luminous engine and so on. If you can't run next gen engines you can't run next gen games, and so far the Wii is almost out with no confirmation that it will support these engines (not even talking about an actual game announced).
Yes. 2012 was definitely the PS3 strongest year ever in terms of games.

Of course I didn't but Joy Ride Turbo. It's a mediocre game (which was even promised to be free at first) and I had far better alternatives for driving games this year: From Forza Horizon to Trials Revolution. Joyride is just a poor man's mario kart knockoff (you know, like Playstation allstars is a smash brothers knockoff), so it's not really up for consideration for me. But it was still a driving game they released this year.
If you&...
Well, we already know they're working on a next gen project:
The already demonstrated the Mega meshes engine (running on Xbox! Imagine how it will look on a next gen console)

They are still recruiting new employees:

And you also hate every game ever created by naughty dog, right?
Accorting to VGChartz about 1.2 million PS3 owners bought a copy of the game after you sold yours. I guess they had to settle for it simply because there's no better alternative.
"it was like this team-based, four vs four, capture the flag style game, where each of the characters was an archetype"
So basically a side-scrolling Team Fortress 2 with familiar characters?? Or perhaps Awesomenauts?
