Oh, without a doubt. I can't take Kotaku seriously at all anyway. I found that article, too. I find that the writer is trying to open up a can of worms that does not need a crowbar taken to it.
"Noticing this fact isn't a call for affirmative action, and it's not about getting enraged about sexism."
"It's about opening up an conversation as to why this happens at events like the PS4 unveil..."
It's like...
That was a very nice list. Brings up some good characters indeed.
The only problem I see here is that Matt Liebl is insinuating that there is a problem.
"Here we are today, two days after the announcement of the PlayStation 4; rather than celebrating the arrival of a new console, we find ourselves enamored with the fact that no female developers were brought on stage -- a seemingly sexist move on behalf of Sony."
Uh, what rock are you living under to come up with this after a press conference for what's next w...
I like the new direction Sony is taking with the PS4. Making it more approachable for developers and flexible for gamers will make this a major seller. Microsoft, in the meanwhile, is trying to push the Xbox as this mega entertainment center that everyone will want.
It's like they are trying to compete and upstage everyone, not just Sony and Nintendo. They are competing with cable providers, sports outlets, internet sites, and cinema. It's all for what? Trying to get ...
Yeah, some of these crossover ideas just flat out suck. The problem is still with the licensing. There are too many development companies and publishers out there that have the rights to certain entities. They will never let the chance to get a profit slip by, so they will either hold onto their rights or collaborate to get a piece of the profit.
Rayman Invades the Sims: An interesting idea, but I don't know how this will go well between Ubisoft and EA.

I agree. We can't go on ignoring people who insult and degrade others online. We should start giving a damn about this issue. The problem when it comes to online gaming is the anonymity. It gives power to everyone and it gets abused. Further, the people who abuse anonymity can go on without consequence.
Yeah, go for it. We can use all of the great articles we can get to defend the industry.
I think he misses the point of Skyrim: total freedom. It's up to the player to go about the game finding their own way. As soon as you get out of Helgen, you are on your own. You have to be the initiator in your own life in the game.
It's the ultimate role playing experience. People play Dungeons and Dragons, but you don't see them complaining that it's generic because all you're doing is talking about what you're doing instead of actually going out ex...
Ah okay, so another list that is meant to enrage fans of certain series. They even admit it as such: "screw being nice, it's time to hurt some feelings." I wonder if this will actually be backed up with some good analysis per franchise.
*watches video*
I see a lot of lacking detail for quite a few of the series listed as to why they are "overrated". It's just a bunch of redundant reasons repeated over and over regarding boredom, st...
Oh, of course, an "entertainment console". Yeah, because that's why I buy a console...for the broad definition of entertainment. Look, while it's very nice that a console can play DVD movies, that's not the core reason why I have one. I get a console so I can play some awesome video games.
Sure, I've used Netflix on my PS3 before. Sure, I've watched a couple movies on it. But video games are my primary use from it. These guys from Microsoft are b...
I think games should have good stories. If we have these fantasy, science fiction, and horror based universes/worlds, then there's potential for amazing narratives there. Yes, a video game is about player interaction and gameplay, but a good story can compliment those well.
Games have evolved to being a higher medium of entertainment. If we want games to be acknowledged as a great art form, then games cannot just be immersive in gameplay alone. Good stories and fantastic ...
"Failing to innovate and failing to capitalize on innovations like Kinect. Touting strategic and market success when you’re just experiencing your competitor’s stumbling failure (yes, Sony, Nintendo – you are, I’m afraid, stumbling failures)."
Under what information does he boast this statement as fact? The Kinect is sure an innovation all right. An innovation that falls flat on its face because it can't read movements to save its life or have good controls for ...
Aquaman and this trailer look freaking epic here! I know, surprised me, too! Netherrealm Studios, keep up the good work!
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is being nominated for game innovation? Excuse me for a second.
(grabs cup of water)
(drinks cup of water)
Ppppffffhhhhh!!!!! Aw, now there's water on the screen. Yeah, that's what happens when something baffling happens. In this case, Black Ops 2 nominated for innovation?! What?!
In a time of when our source of entertainment that we are so invested in gets attacked as a social virus that infects innocent people, then it's also the time that our community pull together to defend it. Everyone has their opinions on the matter of gun violence and pop culture's influence, but the fact remains that people hurt people through crime. There is no clean way around it.
I bet you can make a great case on this topic. What would be some of the main things y...
In reaction to the image at the top of the article: So, just because someone plays Skyrim or Assassin's Creed they aren't real gamers? You think that Pokemon, Zelda, and Portal are the only ways to be considered a gamer? That's just stupid. I am so sick of some people calling what they consider mainstream to be "crap". I play Skyrim and Assassin's Creed, but also Portal, Pokemon, and Legend of Zelda. So what's the conclusion there in this person's lack of log...
Living in the USA, myself, I think the gun laws fluctuate per state. Heck, for that matter, it's probably per county. I always hear things about, "You can't carry in this state if you only have a license in your state" or "You can only carry a handgun" or "You can have a handgun or shotgun in your car, but it cannot be loaded" or "Your city doesn't allow you to carry outside your home, but the state does". It's all very confusing.
Source? Anyone have a source? Because I don't see any in this article. Where is the "information" coming from? If anything, everyone is anticipating the next generation for Playstation and Xbox. There are many games that will most likely be next generation that have been announced already. Oh, and seriously with the Wii U bashing again? The same record is playing. I dare supposed "critics" to change the tune because at this point we are going around in circles.
Piracy has been a huge problem in general. PC is no exception to piracy. If anything, it's worse because of the number of channels people can go through to get a game for basically free on PC. That's why publishers avoid making their multiplatform games available on PC. There's always the risk of wasting money on production for PC ports and not seeing that revenue back to break even and then earn profit from that platform.
There are a lot of games coming out this ...
No, I read the article. I still think that Tomaszkiewicz misses the point and makes a rather one sided claim. "He also noted that NPCs never commented on your accomplishments." That couldn't be further from the truth.
For example, if you ally yourself with Madanach and allow him to escape Markarth, then the people will either antagonize or fear you. If you kill Madanach, the people will praise you and reinforce your innocence. If you decide to kill Paarthurnax, ...
