I have never seen the hacking and pirating of games as a good thing. I believe that such instances of causing copyright infringement lead to companies enforcing certain practices (like DRM) on legitimate paying customers as harmful to both business and the industry. While it may be a good thing that gamers can get their hands on older, harder to find games like Chrono Trigger, the long term damage on modern hacking and pirating stings more.
It is with cases like Diablo III an...
I want to see more, but I'm going to get the game anyway. I can't wait for it. That was an incredible preview.
So, he doesn't want companies to show what they have planned for the upcoming year at one of the biggest electronic expos? What sense does that make? It's not like as if he's being forced to watch it. If he finds it trivial, then that's his opinion, but many of us like watching the conferences. We happen to like being informed about what's new and upcoming in the industry.
Very good list. Had me laughing a couple times given the jabs that are taken at some of these bad sequels.
These would be my picks for both heroes and villains should they not have used the ones they have or otherwise supposedly have ready for the season pass:
Black Manta, Cheshire, Darkseid, Gorilla Grodd, Mongul, and Prometheus for the villains. All for the very reason that they all can fight and have easily designed move sets.
Black Canary, Black Lightning, Doctor Fate, Martian Manhunter, Red Tornado, and Zatanna for the heroes. All for the reason that they wou...
A steady stream of Wii U games would undoubtedly help Nintendo right now. With Rayman Legends getting pushed back, a boost is sorely needed. We won't be seeing a good stream until next month and beyond with Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut, Game & Wario, and Mario Kart. If people are going to want to get the next best games from Nintendo, though, they are going to have to get a Wii U. Or if they are first time buyers, then a Wii U ...
And thank goodness to that. FPS doesn't need to be the end all, be all for a game. Change and creativity are what is needed in the industry, not the basics of what's popular. I totally agree that the industry "is ready to do better things".
I think that it would be good for the studio to take steps into uncharted territory because it would help show that they aren't just the "Mortal Kombat guys". They should try other ventures like action/adventure or horror. It can really boost their own library of titles and improve them for potential future projects.
Damn, sorry to hear to hear that ACE. No decent person deserves to be the victim of a cyber-attack like that. I'm personally glad that these losers got caught. The damage that hackers like them cause the industry only hinder legitimate customers and businesses in the long run and even give way to practices and ventures that we end up despising (i.e. DRM).
Good. I hope those guys get whatever punishment fits the crime. Hackers don't do the industry and community any favors. I'm glad they caught these guys.
Well, I've heard of dumber excuses for someone to not play a game. Seriously, this guy is too sensitive. He has no clue how to separate fact from fiction. It's like, "You're not the one being baptized into the society of Columbia, Booker is." It's called fiction for a reason. Besides, people have had crazier cults before in real life.
If he nags about this, I can't imagine how he is when actors for theater or film portray characters that get bapt...
Tomb Raider was only being considered unsuccessful because Square Enix said so and had unrealistic expectations for their games. They want Call of Duty numbers. Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman: Absolution, and Tomb Raider all sold well, but not enough for Square Enix. Playstation Plus isn't hurting the industry, unrealistic expectations from publishers do.
Everything is up to the personal opinion of the consumer, but there are just some things that companies do that are downright inexcusable. It's something that I notice from a variety of people who say that some games are worth spending 'x' amount of money, but others clearly aren't. I have played Colonial Marines and Warfighter.
I think both of them aren't worth the time and money. They are playable, but they aren't games I would recommend. What I noti...
Amazing that some of you are focusing on the parody picture and not the story at hand. But you all are right. Why care that some scumbag scammed a lot of kindhearted people out of their money? He only managed to get away with twenty thousand dollars and pretended to be something that he's not.
How diluted are you to say that the parody picture is insulting and not what this guy did? Seriously? If that's the case, South Park, Archer, and Family Guy must really offend y...
For every good hug on the list: Awww, I feel happy.
For every worse hug on the list: Gah! I feel disturbed...
No it's not. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is horrendous. Aliens: Colonial Marines is horrendous. Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is horrendous. Duke Nukem Forever is horrendous. Mindjack is horrendous. Bioshock Infinite is not horrendous.
What exactly falls into the kind of criteria for this guy to call a well received and successful game horrendous? Because I thought that a bad video game involves it being unplayable, have terrible controls, contain bugs and ...
I agree with that. Of the list, though, I only played but also really liked Catherine, Condemned, and Deadly Premonition (to an extent). Can't wait to see the remastering of Deadly Premonition. I heard the control scheme should be updated along with the graphics.
Totally saw this coming. It happened to other guys before (like that schmuck who said Tiny Tina was racist) and it will happen again so long as people don't know when to keep their mouths shut on twitter.
Thanks, PopRocks. Yeah, I think I will cover my impressions of all of these rumors regarding the Nextbox and Microsoft's silence eventually. I don't think it bodes well for them given that they really haven't put any of those rumors to rest. Just need to finish up Part 2 and I'll be all set to cover that.
Oh, yeah, I'm right there with you. DRM can totally be handled better. When I played StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, I found out I had to be online for the single player. The original StarCraft did not, so I was a little more than taken aback at that. Maintenance and patches were very irritating to go through which I would then say, "Well, off to Team Fortress 2!" I aim to be looking at a few companies this month with their questionable business practices.
Peopl...
