Looks like another case of someone who needed mental help. Authorities are already mentioning that the gunman had mental issues. Here's the link if anyone is interested in following up with it.

Fantastic read! That was one great article and it showed in detail all of the things that led to why the Xbox just doesn't sell in Japan. It's easy to point out why the Xbox or even the 360 don't appeal to everyone. Hell, it's just a matter of seeing how the console's influence affected the video game industry in general.
Look at the Kinect. Many call it (including myself) a glorified beta test from Microsoft. Literally the only games that work on that bla...
It's the internet. At this point, nothing is short of surprising in the form of people saying racist things. Twitter and Youtube are flooded with moronic statements and offensive messages. It just goes to show who uses their brain and common sense and who doesn't.
Okay, what? Seriously, there are worse female characters in general in video games. Others that were very poorly written. Most of the list seems rushed, but I do see a special case.
Samus - From Metroid: Other M? Are you kidding me? This game is so underrated. Look, just because they gave Samus some emotion and humanity does not make her any less of who she already is. We got to learn about her past before she suited up in the armor. She is not "weak", "submiss...
While what happened to her was undeniably a horrible thing, Anita Sarkeesian needs to realize a few things.
One, because the internet is used to such great and untold lengths, the power of anonymity is unparalleled. People will use their computers and the internet to spread their opinion, whether it's for the sake of information or just for trolling. Immature gamers take advantage of such a thing and enjoy picking on people knowing that there won't be any repercussio...
This article seems to be one big love letter to the Xbox 360. Most of the reasons given won't even apply to most people and are hardly effective at convincing those who don't own a console to rush out to the nearest electronics store to buy a 360. Let's have a look at his list.
1. Xbox Live is More Secure Than PSN: Yet almost on a bimonthly basis do we see articles about hackers on Xbox Live stealing accounts, hackers plaguing popular first person shooters, and Xb...
Maybe this will be a wake up call for EA. Well, not that them getting the Worst Company in America title was enough of one, but also considering the many criticisms they receive for their business practices.
Warfighter was a complete mess. Bugs, glitches, annoying scripted sequences, horrible cutscene graphics, badly told narrative, and a lackluster multiplayer are what led to its downfall. EA simply had it rushed out before Black Ops II debuted. We shall see how EA will hand...
Just another bland doom and gloom article. These "this game killed this system" or "why x system is dying" are so typical and boring to read through. How about some articles that actually show the system and games with promise? Or at the very least some positive outlooks on a system. I rarely see those around.
I don't expect much of anything in terms of "surprises" from Geoff Keighley or the VGAs. I've seen their list of nominees and categories, and it doesn't look promising. Some of the list is good, but most of it is terribly organized. The only thing I can expect is a wave of bitter disappointment from people who try to give the VGAs another chance.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Hope all goes well for your dinners tonight! Keep it awesome N4G!
I agree with you. FPS, racing, and sports games have dominated the market for too long and stifle creativity. Why try something new when you can play it safe? I say don't do it. The industry needs new ideas and concepts.
Unfortunately, the PS2 era has the most variety and even the generation before that console, developers took chances with their ideas and did well. Developers need to look at the potential of ideas they have and not reduce them to try to appease everyone....
I have to agree, too. Zombies don't hold the same horrific presence as they used to. They are used too much in the go to for cannon fodder in action games and DLC.
This is disheartening. Good thing I play alone with Borderlands 2. When I do play Borderlands 2 online, I do so with friends, but this is still concerning. Freaking mods and hackers do nothing but ruin good games.
I do agree with some choices, but the writer needed to add more to why he believes that these particular companies don't care about gamers.
EA: Yeah, I agree about EA. They are one of the few companies that can take good concepts and studios and mess them up. Origin is a flat out joke. They also have annual releases of sports games that hardly live up to the 60 dollar price mark (all those games are tweaks to the gameplay and roster updates).
Capcom: Also...
I just got through Leon's campaign myself. Still working through it. At this point (that is, before I beat the whole game and get a full impression), I think people are being too hard on it.
The controls are tight, the graphics look good, and it is entertaining...when you're not getting killed cheaply, but entertaining nonetheless. Not to say that there aren't bad things (seriously, the shotgun should have more power behind it). I think, so far, it's at best a...
How am I making it seem like I don't care? I merely added a rebuttal to the comment. I even offered some questions for discussion. What? I can't do that? Was I ever implying that I thought sex was wrong in games or I was against it completely? I never blatantly said that.
Good grief, some of you can be so sensitive and aggressive. Also, I know other media doesn't handle sex as well as they should. I'm saying that video games need to be handled well because of ...
Decent points, huh? No true thesis? You do realize I'm not writing an English paper, right? I'm pretty sure I made my point consistent throughout.
You say that I "cop out" of laying down my thoughts by opening things up for discussion and asking questions, and that somehow dissuades what I'm talking about? I am merely giving you (the reader) a chance to further your ideas on the subject.
I gave two examples of where sex was done well: Go...
Ha, ha. Thank you very much, Paragon. Yeah, I hope no one takes it personal. It's just my opinion on the concept. Although, I don't know why they would take it personal. Does explicit sex in video games really make it personal for those who want to see more TNA and graphic *ahem* positions? We shall see.
I want to see plenty of new superhero games. There are so many great heroes from comics. They all deserve a shot to prove themselves. They just need game developers who understand and respect the characters like Rocksteady with Batman.
The Flash: Could be interesting. We just need the right kind of game mechanics to compliment his powers. At that, we need the right villains from his rogues gallery to show up.
Wonder Woman: You would literally have to be a pow...
Ah, yes, the trolls have emerged. In their natural habitat, being internet community sites, the trolls are attracted to articles reflecting the personal or benign opinions of people who think a game or console is good or bad. The trolls pounce at the opportunity on unsuspecting prey in the form of innocent commenters.
The troll also leaves their signature mark which consists of hounding their prey with insults and their over aggressive attitude. This is mere chest pounding, o...
