Heh, it's The Last of Us versus GTA V for Game of the Year. Decisions, decisions. XD
My first reaction to this article was, "Flamebait".
"This article means I've joined the ranks of morally outraged journalists, Daily Mail and Fox News types who fret about Grand Theft Auto. But honestly, with this, I think my concerns are justified."
No they aren't. You have merely joined the extroverts that say video games cause real world violence and corrupt children. You honestly believe that Grand Theft Auto V will somehow con...
Okay, I'm sold. When I have the money, I'm picking this up. So, what say you? Game of the Year contender?
True. Something tells me he hasn't worked in retail. Otherwise that comment would have been entirely different. If you've worked in retail long enough, then you know that a good percentage of customers are jerks. At that, they are jerks who want to pick fights and get stuff for free.
We all have seen this before. The "customer is always right" notion is just a way of people legitimatizing that customers can be completely unreasonable and get what they want b...
I think both are at fault in this case. The customer for not having proper identification on him because many retailers (including GameStop) always require it due to the rules with trades and M rated games. A student ID is not acceptable nor will a business card help.
The manager is also at fault for going along with the joke that another customer made (you can hear him in the video say they have his business card) and keep pushing. It was just best to leave it be. One rude c...
Well done, sir. Capcom certainly are in the toilet now aren't they? Before, they were a huge developer/publisher in Japan. Top tier even. Nowadays, they just known for DLC and ruining franchises that people love.
"You cancelled like 4 MegaMan games when the fans were clamoring for them. You turned Resident Evil into a generic shooter to Westernize it because, instead of listening to the fans that said "we love the survival horror aspect," you listened to Ca...
Wow. Leave it to Fox "News" to have such a flimsy case of (yet again) making a connection between one violent act and video games. The general hidden message I get whenever I hear or watch these "news" segments is kind of like this:
"Yes, we are aware that this topic of video games causing violence in society is a stale one that is limping in the desert sun because there is no actual study or proof of said claim. It is that close to death, but continu...
"Well take The Last of Us as an example: here is a game that is entirely based on a core narrative of masculinity that still devotes a significant amount of time to a secondary narrative of a young woman growing up a nightmarish world."
Where the hell did you get that from The Last of Us? What game did you play? It wasn't about that all. It was a journey for two people from different times of the world coping and fighting for a way to achieve something that no o...
Well, that was certainly informative. Never got to hear the perspective from female soldiers about video games. But then again, this was only two out of the many who serve with their own opinions. I think in the long run (especially because of certain games from 2013) female protagonists and supporting characters are having better roles in video games.
Metal Gear Solid's Quiet is obviously and realistically not battle ready, but this is Metal Gear Solid. The series has al...
Simply amazing. It never surprises me when the media makes such a predictable move like this. It never fails. Rated M video game is released, media warn parents (which parents should know this as basic knowledge like MPAA), stirs up the hornet's nest, and they rake in the revenue. All you have to do is see that pattern and then some nutjob goes out and shoots people. Then the media circle that story and blame video games for the horrific crime. Rinse and repeat.
Of course the media influences violence. With the amount of coverage they have, plus the way they focus on a violent act and going into specific detail, it can lead to some very disturbed individuals to thinking that doing what another shooter did is their glory moment. It is then that they try to top what the other did. They want the attention and recognition, they want their picture in the headlines, and they want their final act on Earth to be remembered. These people are being fed what is...
More power to you, dude. Hopefully your game will get it's time in the spotlight and then some. Just keep your chin up and you'll manage. Like PopRocks said, don't have a meltdown like Phil Fish. I will also add to not emulate his attitude toward peers and customers. That is what ultimately came back to kick him in the rear.

Angry Joe was being very courteous. He was asking hard and direct questions (some from fans), yes, but Nelson didn't conduct himself in a professional manner. The video shows it.
At 7:30, the Microsoft staff force Joe to switch his question because they were giving him dirty looks. At 11:35, Nelson takes the microphone away from Joe because he was asked a legitimate question. How exactly is Joe being unprofessional when the Microsoft staff ...
Without a doubt, this was a very rough year for Microsoft, but they only brought this on themselves. In the technological age we are in, there is a plethora of internet users who voice their opinion loudly and do so as they wish. Since the policies for Xbox One were unpopular, of course they would get criticized and mocked.
Personally, I don't believe anything that Major Nelson says. He isn't exactly a reliable source for Microsoft. This was the guy who tweeted that M...
Awesome list. The following games would be mine in accordance to the platforms I played them on and also given that I'm listing games that I played before thirteen years of age and getting a PS2:
Sega Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Fatal Fury, Street Fighter, Shinobi, Pac-Man
Game Boy Color: Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal
PC: Delta Force series, Global Operations, Zoo Tycoon, StarCraft...
Agreed. Seems like some Xbox fanboys are conveniently forgetting that a good number of Xbox owners have decided to not go with Xbox One. Have Microsoft improved since then? Sure, but the damage has been done.

Real gamers don't follow a company's attempt to restrict your rights as a consumer. Real gamers voice their disapproval. Real gamers know when they are being fed corporate BS. Microsoft made their bed and now they must sleep in it. T...
Agreed, zerocrossing. Some gamers seem to be focusing on power of the next gen consoles. I mean, that's okay to see what the systems are capable of, but that shouldn't be the center of why a consumer goes with one system over the other. If that were the case, a number of people would take their four hundred or five hundred dollars and upgrade their PC. If they don't care about power, then handhelds would be a first choice (especially if they are on the go a lot).

Gotcha. Well, either way, I look forward to seeing what you have to say, lol. XD
I feel your pain, coolbeans. Since you did finish it, are you going to review it? I would very much like to see another point of view of this game.
The Last of Us is a fantastic game. I believe that the characterization of both Joel and Ellie were great. The story was unique, too. Every PS3 owner should get this game.
