What if Ground Zeroes was free? I would probably score it an eight instead. I was really bummed when you didn't get to participate in that final assault in the game. I was anticipating a transition, but it didn't happen.
Beating a free game in an hour would be okay with me, but the problem is still the existing price. I disagree because reviewing a game comes with the territory of recommendation. Brink, for example, is short and was priced at sixty dollars. Had I revi...
He said on gameplay alone he gives it an eight out of ten, but he wouldn't recommend buying the game right now. He was adamant that everyone rent or borrow it before buying it.
Yeah, a good game should look great and play great, but no game that lasts only an hour in the main campaign should have a retail price of thirty or forty dollars. I want to feel like my purchase was worth what I spent on it. Ground Zeroes doesn't do that due to lack of content and it being in one location with a campaign that lasts a short time.
Thank you, Joe. Finally, we have others like Angry Joe and ProJared out there calling out this game for the blatant faults it has. Again, it plays and looks great, but that's all it has going for it.
Those bits with Other Joe and Corporate Commander were hilarious, too. Butt bombs?! XD
I don't understand how there can be people out there defending this game given how short it is and how stupidly priced it was. It looks and plays great, but the content and time it takes to beat the main mission is inexcusable. I love Metal Gear Solid and I know the series is capable of much more than what Ground Zeroes offers.
"Bu, bu, but! If you take your time in the game, then it's really worth the money!"
Only not everyone will take the...
Ah. Let me clarify that very quick. While the graphics are amazing, muddy and pixelated textures are noticeable in core moments in the game. Particularly during the day is when it's commonly seen. I love the rain the main mission has (I'm a sucker for rain in video games when it's done well) as it compliments the environment. The hiccups that can be seen revolve around those issues. Like I said, though, the PS4 and Xbox One versions look much better.
Finally! People who I can talk to and agree with about this game because I'm getting the exact opposite reaction in my review. Trying to talk to defenders about this game's price and content is really difficult given they are blinded by it being a next-gen Metal Gear Solid game.
Another justification of their defense is that you can take your time in the main mission and Side Ops missions. Somehow that makes it better given you're paying thirty dollars on the PS3 ...
Well, I can't say that this wasn't unexpected. I knew there would be people saying how wrong I am in the comments or defend the game because it's a next-gen Metal Gear Solid game. To some who have commented so far...
@Greysturm
I disagree with you. If I was being harsh in my scores, they would reflect a more below average numerical score. Also, if people want to play a next-gen Metal Gear Solid game, then I believe it's best to wait for The Ph...
Great review. I find that as Call of Duty has become Activision's annual game to release each iteration of the franchise grows more and more predictable and content. It is like you said, Ghosts could have offered a fresh experience, but it just laxed into the usual tropes that Call of Duty is known for.
I haven't been impressed nor compelled to bother with the series since the first Modern Warfare. I gave a couple recent additions (like Ghosts and Black Ops II) a chan...
Sweet! Here's to another awesome contest! :D
Freakin' A, yes! A new Dino Crisis would be freaking awesome! But this is Capcom we are dealing with. We haven't seen Regina in the mainstream in a very long time. And Dino Crisis 3 was just...abysmal.
@ PostMesmeric
Yes! Resident Evil 4 style gameplay would be amazing for a new Dino Crisis.
I know I want more dinosaur games!
I don't understand the idea of sticking with just one platform. Why limit yourself? Unless you're working with a very strict budget, I can't see platform loyalty as being the one thing that drives a gamer to push their choice as the penultimate experience for gaming. One would figure that over time you would branch out. It's only natural as a gamer.
Seriously? This article still got approved? For shame to anyone who approved it. People, look at the comments above. This is exactly what I said was going to happen when I reported this as a lame article.
"Lists like this only serve for flamebait, clicks, and causing a stir among gamers."
If any article writer tries to submit more crap lists like this to N4G, it should be flagged. Look at the negative reception in the comments. It's obvious game...
"This clearly shows how scared some Sony PS gamers are, I mean, this site has been filled with so much negativity towards Titanfall its not funny. Attacking the game, its servers is proof the extent communities will go to in an order to justify their system."
What evidence do you have to support that statement? It just sounds like you're a fanboy trying to dismiss N4G and Playstation gamers completely.
"Then again, why am I even here writin...
I want to say that the author is referring to DERP. Remember when they hit DC Universe Online, PSN, Xbox Live, Steam, League of Legends, Planetside 2, etc not too long ago? That generated a lot of hate for them. So, I'm guessing the writer means "notorious" in the sense of what DERP did. Now Titanfall servers and its website were hit. They always say they do it for "the lulz". I would enjoy some "lulz", too, if I can get to punch a hacker in the face.
Boy, TB can't catch a break. You know, it's unfortunate that companies have so much power in Youtube now. Google basically bent over for them and it shows. No one is safe on Youtube for expressing an opinion or earning revenue on their content.
I could give a negative review for a game and I could get flagged because the devs didn't like what I have to say. I could have twenty seconds of a song play out in the background and get flagged because the song was publis...
I've only been a member since late October back in 2011, but I still really like N4G. It's my go to site for news. I share news from here all the time with my friends and coworkers. It's also (in my opinion) the best site to have an outlet for.
It's why I started writing blogs and reviews on here. I wanted to share my experiences and opinions like I always do with my friends and coworkers. Although, it has been a long time since I reviewed something. I should ...
This is a botched job by GameStop. Official box art can be seen at Thief's official website and a simple search on Google Images. The Playstation box art does not contain the "Only on Playstation" banner. As it is, everyone pretty much knows that Thief is multiplatform.
Microsoft does still have a lot of work to do. Some of it is collateral for a few recent stunts they pulled. That is without question. My buddy got one of those Titanfall bundle systems and his brand new Xbox One has an incredibly loud fan. I don't know if that can grow into a greater problem, but I dread to think about it.
