Microsoft On Ryse Son Of Rome: It's "Made By A Gamer For Gamers"
Ah, yes, a game made by gamers for gamers. Ryse is a graphical marvel, but the problem with it is that it's extremely repetitive, linear, and short. The best compliment that can be given to Ryse is that it shows the graphical power of the Xbox One greatly.
The issues that many gamers take with it are (again) Ryse's linearity, repetitive gameplay, and short length. If I can ...
I agree. Most games are better off being single player anyway and that was my impression of this game when I saw it. For sure a must buy for me this year.
This is universal knowledge. You cannot trade in sealed copies to those retailers. There are a few places that will open them up, but GameStop and Best Buy won't. Also, it is for that very reason of liability of taking in stolen merchandise that they won't take sealed games.
Okay, I get your point. And it's no problem about the time between responses, but you have to let me know what you think about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, lol.
"I see. Does that also mean we'll be seeing a Marvel Game Studios solely dedicated to this? Is there one already that I don't know about?"
There hasn't been any word about a Marvel Game Studios as far as I know. Unless they knew about the licenses going up beforehand and began working on it from that point, I think they would most likely go with an already established developer. The last time a license expired was Daredevil with Fox and they took that li...
I understand that seeing how EA has won twice (practically in a landslide) does show that it is very glaring. This is given that they beat Bank of America last year. Bank of America was foreclosing on many families and small businesses with questionable reasons. I would definitely say that taking homes and livelihoods away from people is worthy of Worst Company of America.
I wanted to touch base on why I mentioned the mindset of not believing that games "cannot be art, t...
That is Microsoft's big game announcement? They bought the rights to Gears of War. Look, I really enjoyed the original trilogy to Gears of War. I never played Judgment and I probably won't given the kind of reception it got; however, this is hardly a surprise. Phil Spencer mentioned the company's interest in keeping Gears of War exclusive days before. So...this isn't that big of a deal. What is more concerning is where they will take Gears of War.
I really hope that that isn't the case. While it is true that Disney is the parent company now, Marvel still exists as their own independent branch. The difference now is that Disney can pretty much use the licenses in their own works anytime they want and publish bigger works (like movies and television shows). Like that crossover they had with Phineas and Ferb...which should never have existed to begin with.
"Ouch...I actually liked Spiderman 3 quite a bit. It has ...
Only release ios games?

I hope not, too! Sure, some Marvel games needed some work, but I know a lot of console owners who are chewing at the bit for some good quality games. If Rocksteady can deliver a solid Batman game twice with advisement and help from DC people, then all Marvel would have to do is find a developer that respects Marvel's characters enou...
Now when you're referring to their handling of Sims 3, what specifically do you mean? I ask because I know the one complaint people have of Sims 3 is how overpriced the expansions are. Sims 3 had eleven expansions with some being pricey that a lot of people were not too happy about. As for Activision, your words match that of many gamers and you would get many in agreement about it, too.
Unfortunately, that is very true. Once a company finds themselves in legal trouble, then investors get cold feet supporting them. I also agree that while EA isn't the worst company of the year, I still think it sends the message that no video game company is immune to nomination. Also, yes, they do not care one bit about winning that award since their games still sell.
Thank you. Yeah, I really wanted to touch on this subject because it seems that a lot of people (even non-gamers) don't get or understand why some companies end up on the Worst Company list. Looking at the company's history from the year they are voted for reveals some surprising facts. It's not just about the product, but what employees go through every day and what consumers put up with. There are truly some awful companies out there.
Voting now. Let the people of N4G speak and we shall see what comes out on top.
I will see about posting it by tomorrow. Most of it is done and just needs some editing. =)
You beat me to the punch. I have a blog set up for exactly this same topic regarding gamers not taking the wrongdoings of video game companies seriously. That is reinforced from a particular saying that I hear all too often: "it's just video games". It's a built up mentality that was at first forced on us from the general public opinion and slowly creeped into the minds of actual gamers, but I'll cover that subject more when I post it.
On topic: I comple...
Let's see...games that disappointed me from 2013. Okay, I have a few.
SimCity: Need I say more? Well, I should anyway. I was very interested and eager to play this game. It has been a long time since I have played a Sim City game, but this one just killed it for me. Forced DRM without so much as a peep from EA that it was required to even play the game, no single player freedom, log in issues, server issues, and disappearing cities ruined this game for me. It's good w...
I remember that Mass Effect 3 was pricey on the WiiU when it released. That sucked majorly. Also, people getting into it on just WiiU would have no clue about the other two games which is a huge drawback.
"Nintendo should change things, but I wouldn't take tips from EA if my life would depend on it."
You, sir, get a bubble for making a funny. XD
"We can all debat all day over them milking franchises, but they are still the...
I agree with you guys. When it comes to the whole "this company did something bad, too" subject, I just can't fathom how a tactic from years ago could be relevant to today. Every company has skeletons in their closet as well as moments that no one is proud of. In this case, I am sick of hearing "b-b-b-but Sony did this cruel thing to us six years ago" or "Steam was making us do this five years ago". It's like a friend who brings up something stupid you sa...
I'm not going to aggressively argue nor do I want to. You're the one who commented on here to slander and insult me and for what? You're expecting me to retaliate with some explosive negative backlash? Where exactly are your sources for claiming that Square dumped millions into Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV? You would think that if they actually did, the games would be out by now.
I just went on Google to see if what you claim is true, yet nothing came u...
Ah, yeah true. I've heard that argument more than once before at any given store. It's a slippery slope when trading in games. Which is why I don't do it, lol.
