Sony, the company Nintendo and Sega didn't take serious has dominated both. Well, Wii I guess did the most in hardware sales, Xbox 360 sold the most in software sales with similar hardware sales. So PS3 could be looked at as third if you count overall money from software and hardware sales. Besides that, Sony has dominated the gaming industry.

PS5 Pro just uses upscaling to get to 60 in most titles. Some times the internal resolution is lower, but the upscaler does a better job making the image look presentable at 1270P compared to FSR 1440P. Games without PSSR that struggled hitting 60 FPS now hits 60 FPS. Games that are CPU limited still have the same problems upscaler or not. PSSR has it's own problems. Sometimes presenting image quality that is worst than the PS5 or Xbox original version. Games with Global Illumination tend...

While I own FC 5 & 6, FC3 was the last good one I enjoyed. FC5 initially was great, but it got bogged down by Jacob missions with the red hair I think his name is. FC6 just felt dated, been there, done that twice over. So FC1 was great for it's time. FC2 was horrible FC4 was ok, FC5 was decent, almost good, but those trippy mission and blow up 1 outpost to the next got old. FC6 was an extension FC3 & 5 which while decent, just felt tiresome.

But, but, but, Dealer from RDX Podcast said PC would be the lowest common dominator. Dealer said the PC would hold back the Xbox since it would be the lowest platform. I wonder whatever happened to that guy? Him and his cronies were pushing the hell out of Xbox Series S. Microsoft could do no wrong with his group. Most of them are now pro Sony guys from Fonz, Tim Dog, and now Dee Batch. Colt has stood the test of time, but the rest of the turn coats had no problems grabbing their Sony blue...

Gaming companies need to get their budget in line. Former devs are talking crazy crap about current affairs of game development. They promote folks for the optics who don't know what they're doing on a technical level. They're competent artist, narrative script writers, and often times solid animators, but making it work within the engine or console? That's where they struggle. Most of the games are now built by contract workers. Often times multiple contract companies who are...

More like 80 as UBI is one of those companies who talks about diversity and hires 70% White women. A few Black and Asian's sprinkle in here and there. Black chick is usually biracial and ghey. From what former devs have claimed, they keep the White guys in the senior technical lead or contract out technical work increasing game cost. Half of the team is learning on the job, senior guys have to spend half of their time training up the new D.E.I's taking away from their work. The other ...

I think so, because it's really a new team. Microsoft gutted the entire Creative Team at 343I. Most developers were contractors so they didn't really build the game. To my understanding, half of the none contractors were laid off so essentially this is a new team. D.E.I hire Bonnie Ross is no longer screwing crap up. Hopefully they can get voices of reason in the studio and not follow the loud vocal agenda pushers. So I'm willing to give the new group a fresh start. UE5, I absolut...

Microsoft uses too many contractors. Essentially 343I was a shell company while other companies developed their titles like Crystal Dynamics is doing with Perfect Dark for whatever the new group name is. Halo 4 for example had 55 consultant companies working on it. 55, so what did the actual 343I team do? When all the consultants left, they didn't actually know how to use their own engine contractors developed. The Gears essentially had to finish development on Halo Infinite multiplayer a...

What was the point of Microsoft buying Activision? Games are still multiplat, they bit off more than they could chew. So game prices increased to $70, studios sold or closed, and thousands of jobs lost. It was literally no point for MS to buy Activision Blizzard. I was on MS side during the FCC hearing, now I wish the FCC had won. This is ridicules, irresponsible, and ruinous on Microsoft part. What is it now? 3K jobs? 1900 earlier this year, followed by another 650, 140, and now 400? Almost ...

I've seen stories about 343I and their contractors a few years ago. The architect of Halo's Infinite, lets just say Halo 6 Slipspace engine was a contractor. When he was laid off, they had problems with the engine nobody could fix. I think they brought him back in awhile later to fix the engine. Laid him off again as they decided to switch to the horrible performing UE5 engine. The story I want to hear about is what in the hell happened to Forza Motorsport 8 or just Forza Motorsport a...

I'm not tripping about top surgery scars, even thought it doesn't make sense in a fantasy mid-evil type period titles. Now, from what I've seen, this game is visually uninspired. The last Dragon Age Inquisition game art design has more detail in it, while Veilguard pushes more geometric detail. This game from what I've seen has anatomy features that doesn't make sense. Ears are not at the right height or depth. Jaws flair out, or flair forward too much. Forehead bone too s...

Yep, I would have centered the build around a 7600 CPU with 7800XT GPU, but they know it's a struggle getting under $850. Consoles can also punch above their weight with proper optimization. The PS5 can at times outperform RTX 2080 Super with specs more in line with the RTX 2060 Super. That's AMD 6700 to 6700XT performance on some titles. From what I understand, it's RDNA 4 with the same configuration as RDNA 3 7800XT. A 7800XT is 48% faster than the 6700XT, making it 54% faster t...

The CPU is better, but the GPU would be considerably slower. Fast CPU really only matters at low resolutions with only a handful of titles that can stress a modern CPU 7 or more cores at all resolutions. I have 3800X, 8600K and 5900X CPUs, my 8600K gets stressed in Spiderman at ground level with RT on. I hear the new Warhammer 2 is a real CPU killer. Cyberpunk and stress both the 3800X and 8600K at most resolutions. When I say stressed, talking about 60% or higher CPU usage and inability to h...

The rebooted story was whack. WB followed the typical trope of unattractive females like Tanya. Wow, of course demon ladies, and they made Johnny Cage too cocky in a cartoonish way. The past few MK games Cage had more confidence, especially MKX than cockiness. Cassie Cage comes off as a cheap version of her father. Sonya Blade scowl, yuck, just have a damn normal face from time to time. Sub Zero and Scorpion, WTF, like what is this crap? Shao Kahn now just a General with women in charge. I ga...

Yeah $240 is a joke, I just re-up my GamePass for $117 for a year. Here's the link https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox... if interested. Anyone thinking about I would re-up before the new price hike takes affect next month.

Honestly it's not bad. I did just renewed my subscription, and if you want to buy games as they leave? You usually save 20%, sometimes more. I got a year worth of GamePass for $117 from CDKeys. I mostly play on PC, but my children play on Xbox so it works out. I usually wait until Black Friday to re-up for $25 (3 months) but with the price hike, thought it made sense to take care of it now. It's $29 for 3 months off CD Keys as of writing this. Anywho, I'm good until early 2026.

The specs were too different. If it had 12 gigs of ram and something like 8 TFLOPS with 320 GBS of bandwidth with everything else being the same? Then yeah, the XBSS would have made sense as a companion console with the XSX. You get a GPU that's about a quarter more powerful than the XB1X GPU and a much better CPU for the time. When I saw the specs, I said oh, this is a problem. Morons like Dealer and Colt beat the table talking about sliders and the lowest platform being PC. They sounded...

Depends on the game and what graphical features are given up. For example, I flat-out can't deal with close to the screen pop up from shadows, textures, to geometry. Nothing more distracting than driving and see a shadow constantly getting drawn in at mid screen is too visually distracting. I'll take sharp 30 FPS than deal with bushes, trees, shadows, ect getting drawn in 5 meters from my character. Games with poor upscaling to reach 60 FPS using low internal resolutions is too visual...

Mesh Shaders are more efficient as you have to use a Computer Shader and Primitive Shader to achieve the same results as Mesh Shaders. I don't any about the PS5 Geometry Engine so I will just leave it as that.
