Wow, I can recall saying Sony downgraded their CPU while MS upgraded over a year ago. Of course lovely idiots jumped on me trying to argue basic specs in regards to the CPU.
Like I said then, both next gen system put way too much stock in the GPU. When the GPU is maxed out developers can't expect much from the CPU to push the boundaries a little bit further. Developers already started complaining about next gen CPUs not being up to par.
On other hand, kudos to Son...
Lazy developers! If Ryse can hit 900P this game should be able to hit 900.
Do I need to add I've purchased or played out the last 4? Also not everybody play games like Rayman or Child of Light, my 3 out of 4 were games I've purchased.
Sorry Ubi but you guys have let me down 3 out of the last 4 games.
Hell add in Ben Roethlisberger alleged rapes, add Greg Hardy, Leonard Little Manslaughter DUI
I agree after playing the Beta on PS4. It played similar to Mass Effect, it felt old like I've been there, done that.
MS dropped the ball on the XB1 GPU. Both systems CPU only seem marginal compared to when the X360 and PS3 launched. But from what I've read its faster than last gen because of Out of Order design and modern multimedia and performance extensions. Both systems at launch were outdated by a year or so, only using mid to low end GPUs from the previous generation of PC GPUs. I do like the ram, I'm glad both companies decided to go with 8GBs, at one point both systems were slated to only hav...
I picked up Crucial M500 480GB SSD for my external. I usually uninstall and sell games as I beat them so not really a need for a bigger hard drive at the moment.
No, like Infamous 2nd Son the main characters were too generic and annoying. After a couple of hours of waypoint A to wavepoint B, hack this, and hack that, I was pretty much done with WD. I would rate WD on the PC a 6 out of 10 because of stuttering issues on high end rigs. Otherwise maybe a 7 out of 10 on consoles.
I wouldn't mind it. Its hard for next gen hardware to flex its muscles when developers design their games around last gen memory limitation. What developer seem to be doing so far is increasing the frame buffer and texture resolutions on next gen hardware resulting in a better but not visually distinct game on next gen.
This guy is trolling for hits! It looks fun but not mind blowing, and certainly not terrible.
I'm guessing next gen hardware allowed the developers to make the game they truly wanted to make. Game designers and texture artist probably hated the memory limitation of the last two generation of consoles.
Looks good! Insomniac just need to get the framerate more consistent.
I wouldn't say both systems are powerful as possible. MS went conservative on the XB1 memory and GPU. Both companies went conservative on they systems CPU. A customized AMD 6300/6350 combined with a 7850/7870 graphics card. The PS4 GPU is actually in between the 7850/7870, lets just call it a 7860 given the similarities in specs.
If all manufactures wanted to maintain the APU status, throw in a A10 7850K APU and combine it with an 7850/7870 class GPU. Reduce the clock ra...
I have and like both systems, but I expected a little bit more of a bump in visuals. I know its not even 2nd gen software yet, but I think all manufactures went too conservative on their hardware. I'm just glad the whole idea of motion controls is dying down. I know VR is next but like the virtual boy, I don't expect it to last long. People will say the same thing they say about wearing 3D glasses, my head hurt, my eyes ache, I feel dizzy, ect.
Yes!
I installed Crucial M500 480GB to speed up my loading time. Installed my SSD externally with Inateck external enclosure. Links below if interested
I've noticed a difference in Dead Rising 3 loading times, but Killer Instinct its still buffers characters at the character selection screen. The levels do load quicker in KI, besides the character buffering its feel snappier. Anywho for the XB1 I wouldn't go balls out on a top of the line SSD given the USB lim...
Not really worried about space right now so I installed Crucial M500 480GB to speed up my loading time. Installed my SSD externally with Inateck external enclosure. Links below if interested

PS4 GPU is actually closer to AMD's 7850 not an 7970. Looking at the 7850 and 7870 specs, if Sony did not commission AMD to build their GPU, I can see the PS4 GPU being labeled as a 7860. It latterly splits the 7850 and 7870 specs but with more ram and memory bandwidth.
So let me get this straight, MS reserved 10% of the CPU, and 10% of the GPU for Kinect? I thought it was only 10% of the GPU. Now throw in some DX12 and the XB1 should do ok for the next 4 years or so. Even with more CPU and GPU resources I really don't see this generation lasting as long as the previous. Unlike last gen, this gen is not state of the art upon release.
I got it on the PC when I built my brother's PC (AMD Game Voucher). This game runs butter smooth, even with the patch to increase shadow and reflection resolutions.
