Microsoft has alienated supporters from fanboys, media outlets, to consumers. I've seen never seen a company do so much to hurt their own brand besides Jaguar. They literally advertise you don't need an Xbox, just use your TV (lackluster experience btw). They punish their game devs for lackluster sales when they're releasing games on Gamepass day and date. They've laid off good developers, devs making a profit on the COD teams when they told the FCC the would not. Appointing ...
NP, I just find it odd people are making a big deal out of games and studios who has already shown incompetence. When Sony closed Firewalk studios from Concord. Like ok, the game apparently was not good as it was off the shelves in two weeks. Can we be surprised by that? No, get good, or get gone is how I see it.
Going back to Everwild. Why was this project allowed to continue as long as it did? I knew this game would never see the light of days years ago. It just seemed l...
I get Perfect Dark, but Everwild? I'm surprise people are surprised it was canceled. A few years ago, the creators said they did not know what type of game it was going to be. Like, how do you spend several years in development and not know what type of game you're making? The issue is Matt Booty for not running a tighter ship on his developers. Matt has said a few times he's hands off with the developers. Which begs the question why does he have job? Like, if you're hands off...
Nope, it's been this way since 2017. Every year, the games are coming. The 1st party high quality exclusives are coming. A week later, we've canceled Scalebound. Next they canceled the first Fable reboot attempt. Next lie, we're building triple studios in 2018. Which one? The Coalition was already established, same with Turn 10, and Playground games. Oh, the Initiative, yeah, never produced a game and just got shutdown. When they purchased Bethesda, the games are coming. I think t...
Was Activision purchase too big for Phil and Matt? I was concerned about the purchase as it would take decades to pay back. I knew they would go third party, especially with everything is an Xbox marketing campaign since last year. However, Microsoft promised when they purchased Activision they would not layoff employees or increase their prices. They've done both, which makes me wonder if the deal can be reversed? All the Xbox super fans (most of them are now Sony fanboys) championed the...
Add Matt Booty, he's the guy in charge of Microsoft game development. He said he's has off with developers. Meaning, I'm a bro hire, I do nothing but speak corporate speak. Yet, he's promoted, and hasn't done a damn thing since he left Midway.
They built Initiative as a triple A studio and had everyone hyped. After three years with multiple people leaving I knew the studio was in trouble. But yeah, it was more than likely meant to disrupt Sony that failed miserably.
The one person who needs to be let go is Matt Booty. He fails upwards time, after time he's failed to deliver products until this past year. Every year, lied to us, the games are coming, don't worry, the games are coming. Finally get the games, and it's all third party. The marketing department needs to be fired. Truly terrible, but anywho, Perfect Dark wasn't going no where as it looked dated. It looked like an early XB1 title. I knew the group was deadweight and expected the...
Who didn't see The Initiative closing? The hired several top end guys to studio who did not know how to make a game. So they outsourced Perfect Dark to Crystal Dynamics as they couldn't get the game off the ground. So what was the point of the group?
I knew the Activision deal was going to cause ripples. I figured they would go third party publishing through Activision given the cost of the purchase. Like, it would take decades to make up the difference. According to Tweaktown, Xbox profits last quarter was only $790 million off $6.5 billion in revenue. That's roughly 11 cents profits for every dollar earned. I think the cuts coming this week or next week will seek to push profits up to 15 cents for every dollar earned. If Xbox gets u...
I'm hoping the update fixes their poor FSR 3 implementation, and add FSR 4. FSR 2 looks better than FSR 3 in CP2077 by a wide margin. On my 7900XT I just use XESS if I want to add RT at custom 3K resolutions. Already beat the main game, but half way through Phantom Liberty expansion. I would like to get back to it later on this month.
Cloud gaming only works for certain types of games. 1, it can look bad, I tried NG2Black on my LG C4 and was unplayable. UE5 slop have a tendency to dither, speckle, and often times look blurry due to bad TAA. At 1080P with micro blocking, the speckle becomes a large block which makes a chunk of the screen unusable. I tried Indiana Jones since it's a slower game. Ok, the sneaking around portions were mostly ok, but whenever actions stepped, visually it broke apart, and stuttered. On top o...
Publishers and Devs outside of EA, Sony, Take 2, UbiSoft, and Microsoft are starting to wise up. The massive $300 million budgets is not sustainable for the average DEV. It just takes 1 flop to tank the publisher or Dev. Not every game has to be open World with 100K NPCs. Wide path with branching to smaller paths like an Uncharted or even Alan Wake work just fine. So you have to build your team with experts, get a bunch senior Devs and you will do more with much less.

No worries, what you can do is buy a Dell OptiPlex of Ebay 5060 or something similar off Ebay with atleast a Coffee Lake processor for about $250. Spend $125 and you can get a 5080 with Intel 10700. Now, the GPU is big, I would not go below a 6700XT or RTX 3060 TI in terms of performance. Those cards have the performance of modern day consoles. You're better off just buying a console if the budget is tight.
Amazon has Sapphire AMD 7700XT for $435 right now. This will g...
TLOU 2 port is not bad so far. I played it on both my RTX 4070S and my 7900XT in 4K with and without upscaling. My 7900XT has abit more raster power, I do not have to use upscalers with everything set to max except shadows (set to high, you lose 6 FPS going very high) and get somewhere around 73 to 80 FPS. RTX 4070S was around 66 FPS, but it does drop below 60. Just enabled DLSS quality which looks good in this title and it's straight 60 v-sync or about 83 FPS in 4K with DLSS quality. I h...
I have that PS5 controller, it sucks, not comfortable, decent battery life, maybe 12-15 hours? I switched back to my Xbox controllers plus a controller from 8bitdo. All felt more comfortable than the PS5 controller on PC.
This is fallout from Rock Steady failure. I tell you, SJWs have ruined Western developers. UBISoft is about to go under going full tard ahead with SJWs projects. Bioware studios have been gutted. Down to under 100 devs. Sony lost big on Concord last year following this crap. Volition lost big and ultimately closed their studio with their crap. If you're a senior dev and upper management hires a lunatic. You need to speak up whenever they want to insert their lunacy into your project. Seen...
I agree, and Peter was passionate about the Xbox gaming division. Don Mattrick was too corporate and had the One box idea with less than impressive hardware. Phil had passion for the Xbox division, but became too corporate after the launch of XB1x. I knew it was downhill when Phil introduced Gamepass trying to adopt the Netflix strategy to Xbox. Snatch up a bunch of studios, lie to the fanbase about 1st party software. All to become third party publisher with dreams of getting Gamepass on Pla...
Unreal 5 has issues from performance, to artifacts. Their upscaling produces flicker on high geometric detail objects near the distance. You get frizzle around fast moving objects, blur and speckles on alpha blends such as hair and grass. To top it off, most games run at upscaled 1080 dynamic on consoles to hit 60 FPS. The new Ninja Gaiden 2 remake, visually it's better, but clarity wise it's worst than the XB360 version running in 4K on XSX. Digital Foundry did a crap video comparing...
I know the XBSS sucks, but so do the lousy UE5 engine. I've not played this game as I do not like Souls like games. I tried to get into them, but they're just not for me. From what I'm hearing, the game is a stutter fest on highend PCs. A common complaint with UE5 titles. Whenever I see UE5, I have low expectations for the visuals or performance. They have to dip as low as Xbox360/PS3\Wii U resolutions to get good performance out of it. The inventions of upscalers doesn't help...
