They aren't, nobody is really. Also I myself I'm buying Fifa 15 this week. All's I am saying is its sad developers taking risks and trying new things are getting ignored in favour of propaganda and heavy advertising.
Probably not - I owned it originally for my now traded PS3. Dont get me wrong, I love testing a new GTA game but the truth is that once the hysteria of loading it up and playing the first couple of hours passes I am usually left with another shallow, uninspired game.
So, so many 'unique' games went unappreciated on the Wii. Sadly it is only the self-proclaimed 'hardcore' which missed out - blinkered as they are. When oh when will the majority stop coveting the latest 6 monthly franchise instalment over fresh, innovative experiences before they become extinct...
"Why are there never any Wii games in these lists?
Did anyone actually play Super Mario Galaxy 2? It's got 97 on Metacritic and it get's boring after about an hour".
It actually didn't - get boring, ever! Its one of the reasons it scored 97 on Metacritic. Unlike 99.9% of the games I have played in the last few years, Mario Galaxy (1&2) simply kept me hooked from start to finish, an absolute masterpiece.
I'll be having this...thank you Nintendo and Platinum Games. The only real shame is those who fear something new, those who tend to stick to the yearly (now 6 monthly) updates of their beloved franchises - ongoing.
Edit: ahh, this is actually the original and not the Nintendo/Wii U exclusive sequel. So then we - those of us who played it - know already its one of the best examples in its genre, I only hope Bayo2 does it proud.
It's true, Hyrule Warriors plays buttery smooth. I'm not a huge fan of the slightly monotonous gameplay but the Zelda crossover idea has me enough to stay invested.
Here we go (again), another discussion regarding this gens games consoles (and games, hopefully) based on sales alone as a result of propaganda and rhetoric. Fact is that Nintendo have the better library of games at present - treble that if you include the 3ds, arguably the better upcoming games, but it is the gamer who fears change or any REAL innovation who is dictating the industry. I pity those who as a result of ignorance and nearsightedness will never play any of the growing library of ...
Don't you know, scoring 7 or even a 6 (God forbid) equals an awful, awful game these days. Even an 8 runs the wrath of the self-proclaimed 'hardcore'...
Erm, aren't Nintendo in fact "Japanese developers"? This being so I would suggest no other developer thus far can match their creativity, innovation and polish. Take away the hyperbole, propaganda and ignorance and it is Nintendo (this gen as well as previous) that posses the greater library of games - both console and handheld.
"true next gen"...I laughed so hard! You call what Sony and Microsoft have done with their latest consoles a 'true' leap into next gen, what, double the specs yet forget to create any games which you couldn't just as happily be playing on last gen consoles. You and me it appears have a very, very different understanding on what 'next gen' should refer...
I think by your logic a P.C must be 15th gen (roughly).
While this may or may not be a 'legit' review, I would not be surprised if said score reflects the game perfectly. From the beta (which I played) and the numerous previews it strikes me as another in a long chain of generic FPS's scared of showing any real innovation or change, only with some massive PR behind it at no expense spared. Only time will tell but all's I can say is damn you COD4: Advanced Warfare, you have a lot to answer for...
Just another year huh? So what then for the PS4 or Xbox One, 2 consoles which hardly had dynamic starts or have a strong collection of games at their disposal - besides last gen 'remakes'. No, it looks like you never grew up with or have owned a Nintendo console...more's the pity.
The Wii U has really taken advantage of the small head start. Come 2015 it will the the Wii U with the best library of games, easily. It is also arguable (again, easily) the Wii U has the better games due to arrive over the 2015 period. Sony or Microsoft will respond of course - likely with another Uncharted or Halo, however, by that time Nintendo will in all likelihood be releasing Zelda U.
So, the numbers suggest the Wii U is a 'failure', the games and actual consol...
What can I say...late 2014 and 2015 are going to be remembered as something, very, very special for Nintendo. Who is still in doubt the Wii U doesn't possess a wonderful array of games and most (if not all of them) look and run silky smooth, who?
Wind Waker was NOT underrated, in the way that it was critically acclaimed - and rightly so. I would say the same for Luigi's Mansion. It never scored the highest praise but most if not all reviews scored it in the high 8/80's, making it a very, very good game - again, rightly so.
The Last of Us and "every other hit" are your examples...ok. I have owned every PlayStation since the original and the majority of its best games. I also however have done the same with Nintendo since the SNES and let me tell you, Sony (thus far) have nothing on Nintendo.
Sorry. I should jump on the anti-Nintendo bandwagon/self-proclaimed 'hardcore' thing...far more widely accepted.
How could you not compare it to Smash Bros... it was a shameless copy and paste affair - minus the heritage, polish or magic. What's next? Sony copying motion controls akin to the Wii but in the hurry forgetting to make any games worthy of the hardware...
LOL! unafraid to copy Smash Bros? That is exactly what they tried to do initially, only 1 problem, Nintendo make polished, brilliant games, Sony as it turns out don't - in comparison.
And what...PS4 and Xbox One are for 'grown ups'? Give me a break...
The Wii U - like the PS4 and Xbox One - can be enjoyed by anybody who enjoys videogames IF they are not near-sighted. The Wii U (thus far) has arguably some of thee best games in the last 4-5 years, its upcoming titles dont look too shabby either.
