I played/owned GTAV for my PS3...same old, same old. Anyway, those expecting a noticeable leap in quality over the last gen version (I feel) are going to be sorely disappointed. Yes, side by side under a microscope differences may be eeked out, but apart from that...
Its a sad state of affairs when a game is 'remasterd' so soon after the original launch. Business is business I guess, even at the expense of us poor gamers.
Doh! I don't know how I missed that, I mean the title is the first thing you see, pretty obvious. I stand by Other M and Journey into Dreams however, pretty drab games - compared to their predecessors.
Personally I would not give GTAIV or MGS4 'perfect' scores, far from it. The rest on the list are all deserving, more or less - though I have yet to play Bayonetta 2 (demo not included).
I'm not sure about the order (irrelevant) or including Other M and Journey into Dreams, but yes, all the rest have been wonderful to varying degrees. I would perhaps like to add A Link Between Worlds. Not a 'reboot' per say but definitely a homage to A Link to the Past.
No such thing. The problem I have is that I buy too many without barely scratching the surface of the one which preceded it - most of the time. I'm reigning it in a bit as of late but its tricky, particularly if you have what could be described as an addiction.
Agreed - I just had to see so bought myself a copy for PS4 this morning. So far, I'm roughly 5 hours in, its completely lacking in anything which makes stand out. Good (ish), yes, but falling well short of any of the classics of the genre.
I love the art style and the tounge in cheek fun, but to call her a strong female character is either terrible or a bad reflection on videogames using women as 'character's'.
Its strange, the original didn't hook me, but having recently played the demo for Bayonetta 2 I was sold from the first 2 minutes. Maybe the game has changed (slightly), maybe I have, it just seemed to click straight away - this time.
To be fair, the 'hyper sexualization' is actually the least 'adult' part of the game. I sort of agree to a point - with Polygon, but then this is what the Japanese do.
To be fair, Bayonetta barely made 1 million copies sold when it was available on both PS3 AND 360. You want me to list the wonderful but niche games which severely came up short in sales...I'll just say Okami.
An easy GOTY contender right her - if not a shoe in. Funny how a game or two changes peoples perceptions of a console entirely... not that (in my opinion) the Wii U hasn't been a breath of fresh air and a delight since I purchased it at launch. PS4 owner here - also launch.
I hope I'm wrong on The Evil Within myself but its unlikely. Also, I forgot about Mario Kart 8 receiving 8 new tracks this November with the addition of some new characters... my pre-order of said bonuses was a wise move.
While Nintendo (and their games) may (or may not) be targeted at children, doesn't mean they are for children - any more than videogames in general. This gen we have Wonderful 101, Tropical Freeze, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, certainly not games 'children' will get on well with...and in truth, its games like GTA, COD and likewise which seem to more on children's playlists these days.
Sounds like another safe but albeit unspectacular game. Resi 4 (for example) gave the industry/franchise a much needed shot in the arm...game like that feel few and far between of late. I'll get my breath of fresh air (this year) with Bayonetta 2 thanks.
Now this is something I can get behind...
A remake which feels like its arriving at the right time and of a much loved but unappreciated franchise. GTAV and TLOU remakes can go fish.
And why it wont...
Beneath the lush(ish) exterior lies the same basic mission structure which has been with us since GTAIII, none of it particularly innovative or dynamic.
Let me end by saying I have played every 3D GTA and most of the top down 2D variations.
Seriously, seriously brilliant. My library of Wii U games (at present) is great. Add to them Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros before Christmas and I will have little to no reason to use my PC - for gaming. The less said for my PS4 the better. It (my PS4) has been loads of playtime over the last few weeks with Fifa15 - great game, but apart from that I have maybe played on it for 10 hours since purchasing it at launch...great for BBC iPlayer and Blu Rays.
This puts the whole Wii U 'underpowered' saga into perspective. So, the PS4 is so powerful that it's running games at an inconsistent 30fps - which is what comes from being a console wanting to run every game under the sun. Meanwhile, the Wii U has less games but what it does have (particularly exclusively) run and looks on par with its 'rivals'. Keep your DriveClub and Resistance...make mine a Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros.
What's this Watch Dogs you mention? Oh right, now I remember...how awful, worse still, vanilla. To be honest, Nintendo are better without Ubisoft at all, a company built on advertising muscle and propaganda over anything innovative or brilliant.
No, I'm just going by recent remasters.
