Kicking A In Warframe

I was seriously annoyed when I first heard of the PS4 pro. It felt like Sony had cheapened my investment. However, near Christmas I took advantage of a great deal and managed to trade in my PS4 for a PS4 pro for $140 out of pocket. I said a lot of things but must admit, I was wrong. I'm a gaming enthusiast, have a powerful PC but after I hooked up the pro on a 65" Bravia 1080p set, I was kinda floored. Even the 1080p patched games come in a few flavors of either double frame rates o...

Without standards, they're out playing golf. This would have been a MAJOR success if it improved most all of the existing library. Not a handful of games with different attributes improved, many of which are minor and not utilizing the available power. This mandate was like, hey people, just make a patch and improve something for launch, don't care what so we'll leave it up to you, thanks - Sony XOXO

That will buy you about a year when we first start seeing standards and real benefits from the 85% majority 1080p TV owners. Yet oops, another more powerful system will be out. I think we just made a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I see the super sampling benefit and the added frames in games like Infamous, but there is no standard and that is the problem. I can run 1080p at much better quality on a GTX 970 4gb, no super sampling needed for aliasing with all the bells and whistles included....

Thank you Sony for the new Sega 32X

Exactly. PS4 Pro is Sega 32X. Twice the power, no standards to use it. They should have at least said. WELCOME ALL GAMERS, EVERY GAME YOU OWN WILL BE 1080p 60fs and THANK YOU for your continued support.

Aholes.

Will developers work as hard or smart as they have always done to optimize and squeeze every last bit of juice out of the PS4 to really perform when PS4 Pro has double the power available? Unlikely, why would they. Will developers actually use the power for the massive existing library to give the majority of 1080p panel owners the option to use the f***ing power and play games at 1080p 60fps as this generation should have began in the first place? Don't count on it. PS4 Pro = Sega 32X, ...

I would have been happy with 1080p 60fps standard on my std. PS4 but it just does have the power for open world or heavy effect non linear FPS games, save a few titles from saavy developer work. Never expected VR to be at max potential on base PS4. PSVR is ambitious but Sony should have offered all PS4 owners a $200+ upgrade option releasing a system this early into the life cycle. It's a cash grab without supporting their customers otherwise.

PS4 Pro is a garbage cash grab. It should have been MS model, pop in a disc and it plays better, but instead it's patch specific. I too have been debating trading in my PS4 for a Pro model but thus far the benefits don't justify the cost. If I wasn't PS4 vested, I'd get a pro; why not. Having one, I'm a little annoyed the did this before PS5. Sony could have at least given their supporters an upgrade option. Next gen, Sony will be 2nd. Perhaps 3rd.

Not true, a GTX 1050ti will get you 60FPS 1080 which looks fantastic on PC on ultra. Good enough is barely an issue when you can pickup such a card for $140 bucks right now. There is a major difference between 30 and 60 FPS.

Totally agree. A true shaft to those who already have one.

and creates a huge problem for those who thought they were hardcore console gamers. Thank you Sony for taking a dump on my 2 year old former most powerful console. You could have at least given us 40 million a decent 50%+ trade in program to justify the upgrade. PC now owns the TV, until the feeble Xbox gets a worthy truly next gen successor. It's like watching Netflix shut down Blockbuster all over again.

Sounds great for those who have been waiting to buy a PS4. Not so great for the rest of us 40+ million who bought the best console and expected support through developer optimization throughout it's life. The confirmation of PS4 Pro transformed me into a PC gamer on my couch using a dual shock 4 while pushing 6 tflops, which equates to 1080p Ultra everything at 60FPS no matter the game for the next 1.5 years. Thank you Sony for opening my eyes. SMH

PS4 pro would provide you with 60fps 1080p gaming now, but that's a lot of cash to drop for a small number of exclusives; but hey if you love them that much and have the cash, more power to ya. I have a comparable system and your Alienware Alpha is already getting you that performance now. Hey just curious, are you able to upgrade the video card with standard size cards in that box?

I went PS4 console this gen after all the XBox 360 problems and PS4 feels like a closed system backed by Sony's culture of NO. Remote play was a nice idea but isn't even worth the trouble being gimped at 720p. I didn't find many of the PS4 exclusives all that great with too many remasters in the works, for an additional cost. They should have at least given us PS Now access to games we've previously purchased last gen if available on that platform, which works surprisingly wel...

My biggest regret this console gen has been the 1080p target locked (often struggling) at 30fps. We have had a few notable FPS's that can do 60fps but many of the best games this gen has been open world and 30fps is the best we can get. This gen SHOULD have used hardware to support 1080p 60 but didn't and with all the Microsoft play anywhere PC/XBOX unification upon us, I believe, Sony released a mid gen 1080p 60fps capable system to compete, the reason for the PS4 PRO.

HOLY HELL, I've Been Unblocked!!! So here's some Sony love to get me kicked again on this unbais and awesome gaming news site. They are making a major mistake separating the markets offering 2 versions of games, or a NEO enhanced version of the game. This is not the new way, it is simply a bad business decision. Sony had the market, 40 million + systems sold, which is unreal this generation. They then decide to create a problem for customers by separating the best most successful cons...

I think that's why we haven't seen a formal announcement, months before a supposed release. Maybe they needed to see what Microsoft was going to do first. Whoever is out at the same time with better hardware will stay on top, not who's first. It used to be about exclusives (PS2) but how many of those do we really have these days. When all the multi-platform titles look and play great on both consoles, most prefer the version with the edge. Hell, many websites are dedicated to iden...
