The point of it being a risk is irrelevant, since no one argued otherwise.
Duplicate.
Bleh, I disagree that they held gaming back, because considering the economic crisis, it made sense that they lasted as long as they did.
I take a very different stance - I'm happy it WAS released last gen! Fantastic experience that sits solely atop a mountain for the most awarded title in video game history.
Then don't buy it and quit griping about it.
OT: 25 days left!
@ dcbronco: Look up Heavy Rain. The game made back every cent, all things included. As I specified, not ALL of their games may make Sony $, but THAT GAME did.
Quantic Dream's games make money, though (at least, Heavy Rain did). Can't speak for Ico or From Software, but I believe he's talking even smaller than that.
You get attacked, from what I've seen, because much of your writing is pretentious, and when the stories really stir your pot, the real feelings come alive. You're better off just admitting your preference and not having to deal with anything else.
OT: I don't think either side is worse than another, especially since both sides have their fair share of reasonable people!
@ Sevir: I said I was disappointed with Beyond? Really? I'd advise to read it again.
@ Immorals: Skype/Snap being exclusive to X1 isn't a power issue, but a business one. In fact, you didn't post one thing that the PS4 is incapable of.
Besides, I don't see anyone ignoring anything. I asked what can the X1 do that the PS4 CAN'T.
But, even saying: "very low" makes it sound much less than it is. Of course perspective is key, but there are some pretty substantial differences under the bellies of both machines, such as 750+ shaders vs 1150+ shaders (in favor of PS4).
I'd ask: "such as", but you've just run out of ammunition. :)
"Power-wise", I don't know of anything the X1 does better than the PS4, but one things for sure, the power advantage, despite percentages, will always be there, in favor of the PS4.
Agreed, let's just keep it consistent. I don't remember such forgiveness to the PS3 seven months into its life, despite even the most extreme fanatics' presence.
Either way, kudos to Microsoft for bettering their situation!
So studios can't work on multiple projects at once? If you were disappointed with Beyond, cool, doesn't mean everyone agrees.
Judging by their most recent releases, graphics are hardly an issue for them.
I'm more interested to know what kind of game it is. While I enjoyed Beyond, the noir thriller feel of Heavy Rain was far more entertaining.
Thank you! To say: "nobody cares about Crysis" is silly. Plenty of people still do and if Crytek fully goes under, it will be a sad state of affairs for many in the PC community.
The answer should be quite simple, at least in the case of the PS2. The fanbase split between the 360 and PS3 and many haven't upgraded to current gen machines since, you know, two have them have only been out for 7 months and the WiiU didn't suck up too many previous gen owners.
Context, try it.
Which doesn't negate that sales will increase on the PS4 when the game comes out.
Beyond flopped? Really? According to? Seems like this article attracted a lot of people that don't actually care for QD's games. One can only wonder why.
OT: Always look forward to anything this studio creates. I would love it if they turned Kara into a full game.
One must wonder, how exactly would you know what they can/can't achieve? Lately, I've been seeking out answers from gamers that think they know it all, so you're just next on the list.
If the game doesn't interest you, which is evident, why come in here?
Why even post this? Not only is it hard to follow, but what IS understandable is full of lies. Just stop.
OT: I miss the days of the SNES vs Genesis, Saturn vs PS1. Back in those era(s), console's specific insides were tailored to. The parity stuff just kills that.
