I play games close up on a 32 inch 4K HDR screen. Most things on the Switch look lacklustre running docked. Skyrim is another example. It just isn’t powerful enough to run any decent antialiasing on something like Zelda. In handheld mode it looks fine because the screen is so small.
I got bored with Zelda after about 10 hours. Just couldn’t keep me entertained and when not in handheld mode, it is a blocky mess to look at. HZD keep me entertained the whole way through and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next in the story. It is the only game I’ve ever platinumed too. Can’t wait for a sequel!
I still remember coming across these stone pillars that looked fishy. I can’t remember exactly what I did, but I activated them as some sort of puzzle and all these skeletons appeared. Killed them all for this awesome sword to appear. Really loved the combat too. Good block, roll, attack mechanics.
Drakan The Ancient’s Gates was probably my favourite PS2 game. The combat, flying and exploration was great for the time. Wish they’d remake or sequel it.
Was definitely an improvement, just really cried out for fully remastered textures. Most of them still look like terrible blocky messes.
Sure it ran much better, but with the more powerful hardware, so it should. It was a pretty low level remaster. The textures were still absolutely awful. It really felt like just a resolution/performance boost and nothing else. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy it (I’m a fair way through), but the ‘remaster’ seemed quite lazy. I wanted fully redone HD textures as a minimum.
I know it is all subjective, but HZD was for me too. I got bored with Zelda after about 15 hours, but I couldn’t put HZD down because I loved the story so much and had to see what happened next. Of course it was also a beautiful game and had great combat.

They have had a few decent sales and I’ve grabbed a few games. Sony definitely end up having better specials though.
All depends on the games you like I think, especially the exclusives and both Sony and Nintendo make plenty.
I love my ps4 with its exclusives and I also like the third party games. God of war was amazing, loved HZD. My Switch gathers dust because I’m really just waiting for Metroid 4 and none of the other games interest me at all. Couldn’t even get through Zelda before getting bored.

D2 pvp just isn’t fun. Bad connections, weak powers, ‘must use’ weapons. I would take the old D1 with the sniper and shotgun problems over this.
I think it is just more noticeable to me because Switch hasn’t been out long enough to have a huge range of games in the store that aren’t just shovelware, whereas on the psn and Xbox stores there’s just more quality games as you look through because they’ve been out so long. At the moment it feels like 90% shovelware on the Switch store, but that’ll slowly change over time.

Nintendo just love flooding their game stores with shovelware. There’s some ok games in there, but seriously, too much shovelware!
The game couldn’t keep me entertained past about 3 missions for each faction. Just too repetitive and there’s just nothing to find. Oh look, a cool cave! It took two caves for me to realise there was actually nothing cool about any of the caves. No npcs. No treasure. No excitement. Lifeless world.

A Metroid trilogy remaster before Metroid 4.
I bought mine at Xmas because there was just nothing I wanted or needed when I went Xmas shopping so I thought why not. I also just like owning new consoles even though I haven’t been a Nintendo fan since after GameCube (but I still owned a wii and wiiU). I’m pretty much waiting for Metroid 4 and hoping they do a Metroid trilogy remaster. Mass effect trilogy, Metroid prime trilogy, the old GTA trilogy (3, Vice, San Andreas), wind waker, twilight princess, fallout 3 and new Vegas. I’d happily play all these old games on the switch.
Tried the demo. After playing monster hunter world, I can’t go back to this archaic mess.
