Honestly, I think that's the best attitude to have regarding next gen. Decide what you want to play, then get the box(es) that will allow you to play those games. Each console will have it's share of cool features, each will have great graphics, each will have it's own library of exclusives, and each will be something any gamer should be able to enjoy in the end.

That's why I find comments like this one (from the link, that is) to be sort of disgusting. It'...

Some of these Microsoft employees have been far too defensive about this performance stuff lately. I understand why these people feel the need to make counterarguments to some of the stupid shit flying all over the internet, but this is really one of those situations where it's better to let the product speak for itself.

When you see someone going off like this, saying things like "Our hardware isn't weaker! because..." and "We have this, we have better...

Yeah, I just realized this last night when I was looking over a list of all of the Deception games and realized I had actually played every one of them. It's rather surprising, actually.

There is definitely a sadistic joy in setting up a crazy trap combo and just watching it all work out perfectly.

It's unlikely, but I would love to see this get a western release.

Deception is such a cool and fairly unique series.

I think you misunderstood my comment about "non gamers". I wasn't implying that Nintendo was targeting those people, so much as they sort of stumbled into them. It's obvious they wanted to make the Wii more accessible, but they probably had no idea just how big it would become. Now, Nintendo certainly concentrated on those people a bit more once they realized they had them, which is totally fine, because that's just good business.

My statement about the...

First of all, relax, nothing in my comment is trying to "take away" from the Xbox One, so cool your defenses already. Second, Microsoft publishing the game doesn't mean it's locked as an exclusive. There is precedent for this in the current gen alone, so if you want to talk about going by history, then please do.

Also, if you think Deep Down isn't seeing a western release, you're delusional, and that reference is outdated at best.

The Wii U is facing a fairly unique struggle. Not to take away from the Wii's success, but a lot of the "non gamer" consumers who bought into that console appear to have done so as if gaming were a fad. They came, they had their fun, and they've moved on. Others have been confused by the marketing of the Wii U, and don't know that the next version of the console is available. Then you've got the generation shift, where the Wii U is coming in only somewhat cheaper, bu...

I still think this is going to end up on the Xbox One down the road, with Dead Rising 3 jumping to PS4 as well.

This is Capcom we're talking about, here.

You heard the man, folks, realism is what matters. Replace Metal Gear Rex with BigDog, and Snake with a run of the mill soldier.

Sounds just thrilling.

Much of the design work in Halo is HEAVILY inspired by countless great sci-fi works, to the point that someone even partially versed in the genre could easily call it generic. Does it look nice? Sure. Original? Hardly. Is that fine? Totally.

I don't know the designers who are moaning about these designs, but honestly, these comments just come off as the "me too" brand of feminist support that has become so popular in recent gaming media. Then there's the who...

I don't care at all about performance numbers one way or the other, this guy is coming off as far too defensive, and it's unprofessional as hell.

If there was any lesson to be learned from Don Mattrick, it's that sometimes it's simply better to keep your mouth shut.

Polygon giving a PS exclusive a middling score? Whoa, no way.

Next you'll be telling me that water is wet.

Old Snake's ass got so much screen time in MGS4 it should have been listed in the credits.

This should be a surprise to no one.

Releasing on Black Friday would be dumber than every mistake Microsoft has made so far with the Xbox One combined.

Not going to happen.

It's always been obvious Sony has to pay for this stuff, but exposure definitely plays a large part in what gets put up on PS+. Between advertising for upcoming sequels with free games, and kicking off a series-wide sale with a single free entry, you've got a lot of fun profit possibilities. Never mind the fact that it's a lot easier to justify purchasing DLC when you didn't directly pay for the game itself.

The kid lives in a town called Slaughter and apparently has easy access to a gun.

The article might as well read "Boy, 8, kills Gran after eating Cheerios."

Both launch lineups are are pretty thin. You know what we call that?

A CONSOLE LAUNCH.

There seem to be a lot of amnesiacs and young kids who don't remember what those are like.

For European console pre-orders only, but ok.

Like I said, that was my guess prior to the reveal.

Anyone who thinks Sony's Gamescom dig at MS was anything other than fan service is delusional. They do it because the people love it. There is a reason people remember, "Sega does what Nintendon't", and that's because its fun and stupid, so long as you don't that stuff too seriously. Think of it like professional wrestling. Sure, there are those that take the whole thing terribly seriously, and even believe the fights are real, but for the most part people are in it ...

I think people underestimate Capcom a bit more than they should. Sure, they've done a lot of crap in recent years, and their DLC shenanigans have been as depressing as they have amusing, but there's always hope. Dragon's Dogma was certainly better than it had any right to be, and Revelations is a great RE experience. Though, I suppose with so many still bitter about the DmC situation, I'm wasting my time with all this reasonable thinking.

When it comes to Resi...
