Does it make me a hardcore MvC2 fan if I've already done all these things on the Dreamcast version?

Sounds pretty lame to me. Why wouldn't stores carry it? Best Buy sells TiVos right next to their DVD section. You don't see them b*tching about it.

That entitlement attitude for this generation began with 360 gamers, ya know. You don't hear PS3 or Wii gamers saying "Awww MAN! Why don't WE have Gears of War?", yet how many times do you see the 360 fanbase jumping up and down at the slightest rumor of MGS4 on the 360?

But I can understand that when the bulk of AAA games on the system are put out by third-parties. It can be frustrating when a 3rd-party dev doesn't pay attention to you.

Activision is trying to pretend they're the next EA (history lesson: go look at how Electronic Arts threatened SEGA when the Dreamcast came out, and then they followed through by not supporting the system).

Yet, Activision would be stupid to stop supporting Sony. Why? Because the PS2, PSP, and PS3 combined is their biggest money-maker (by FAR). I mean, what sense does it make to abandon a company with the most systems on the market (and also the highest-selling system, i.e the PS...

I think most people don't think Project Natal is an...anything killer. Only the rabid American media is paying attention to this one. Even the 360's own fanbase is pretty unimpressed with it.

@ Fleet Fox

You're right! Eyetoy and the Live Vision camera are the same, except that Eyetoy was on the PS2....

The PS3 camera (called "Eye") can do far more than the Vision camera. Now you learned something!

I'm still puzzled why "Exclusive Rockstar North game coming to PS3" is not considered big news.

Oh well. The American gaming media is pretty dang good at damage control, so I guess I'll just chalk it up as "one of those things".

And only Associated Content would consider "Facebook integration" as big news, because Facebook has already been available on the PS3 and Wii through the web browser. "Oh, but it's not INTEGRATED!!!!" ...

A price cut at E3 would make no sense. The only people who complained about no price cut announced were blind fanboys. Why would Sony cut the price in the dead of summer (the lowest sales of the year)? It makes far more sense to announce it closer to the holiday season.

So, it just went from "unbelievably overpriced" to "still pretty dang overpriced".

Pretty much, go play the Metal Gear Solid series (and take the time to understand it), and then play the endings of MGS3 and MGS4. If it doesn't affect you, then congrats, you have no soul.

Oh, and ICO and Shadow of the Colossus /thread

@ Dexters

I'm not trolling. I'm stating an opinion. I loved Cod4:Modern Warfare for many reasons, and one of those reasons was the striking realism. Modern Warfare 2 seems to have completely thrown out that realism in favor of a more watered-down, Hollywood action movie approach.

And that's fine for the 13-year-old multiplayer addicts looking for a new FPS. It's not fine for the gamers who actually enjoyed Call of Duty 4's storyline for its gritty realism.

I totally, respectfully disagree with you about the gameplay shown at E3. The gamplay looked like it was from a James Bond or Rainbow Six game, not from a Call of Duty game. Yeah, the graphics looked nice, but what? Now you're some "mercenary"? Great. And what? You have a little radar on your gun? Wow, THAT's never been done before. And what? You're shooting at enemies while riding down a treacherous mountain pass on a snow-mobile?

Every tidbit of info about Modern Warf...

Hah! What?

Up until this point, Microsoft has been bragging about having the BEST 3rd-party support and the BEST 3rd-party exclusives. Now they're saying that the "playing field" is level? If anything, they're just saying that Sony moved up a notch.

Pure BS. If this isn't a perfect example of Microsoft's dedication to "all talk, no walk", I don't know what is.

Yeah, this statement is a good one to follow. In other words, Sony is saying "Take care of your fans, and your fans will take care of you".

This game is getting such odd reviews. Some are praising it, others are trashing it, and reviews like this are labeling it as a definitive "rental"...

If the expectations are "It's a multiplatform spin-off not directed by Kojima that is optimized to use only the space provided by a DVD9", then YES, of course it will meet expectations.

But if the expectations are "It's going to be just as good as MGS4"...well....don't get your hopes up.

Yet another must-have PSN title that breaks away from the "same old, same old" genre mechanics.

It's known at the PS3 Eye.

Full body motion? Check.
Facial recognition? Check.
Voice recognition? Nope, hasn't been used yet, but it has a built-in speaker
Image scanning? Check.

The sad fact of this gaming generation is that the media spins everything. Just a couple of months ago, all of the concepts shown for Natal (i.e. face recognition, full-body interaction, etc) would have been labeled as "kiddy" or "casual". Oh my! What's this? They actually WERE labelled as "kiddy" and "casual", because motion controls and video-capture games have been around for a while now.

Yet, Microsoft (the spinmasters of this generatio...

If anything, critics think too highly of it, especially since this technology has already been (partially) available since the PS2 Eyetoy, 360 Vision Cam, and PS3 Eye.
