I don't get it. This thing isn't even on store shelves...too early to say anything about the holiday.
Once again, 360 fanboys are playing sales instead of games.
PLOT TWIST!
The article says that the camera can "see" any number of people on the camera at a time, but it can only run calculations on two of those people at a time due to the processing that needs to be done.
Wow. Right from the developer's own mouth. No 8-player Kinect, I guess. Read the article yourself. That's exactly what it says.
The biggest absence at E3 was Hulu on the 360? Huh?
Oh. Cnet. That explains it.
Well, Cnet, couldn't you say the biggest thing missing was hardcore demos for Kinect...or, for that matter, Kinect demos that went beyond just wildly waving your arms?
I think Sony did not win. Why? Sony's revolutionary tech was not motion, but rather it was 3D. While I'm sure it was impressive, Nintendo did it without glasses. If Nintendo's best > Sony's best, didn't Nintendo win?
Edit @ below
I never said I wasn't impressed with Sony's conference. To me, Sony's biggest thing was 3D. It was awesome. I'm not knocking that. But Nintendo is offering something quite similar at a fraction...
I think all the conferences spoke for themselves. No analyst spin was needed this year. Nintendo clearly won back the hardcore and is going to change the industry (again). Microsoft clearly abandoned the hardcore. Sony clearly wants your wallet to use 3D.
But it was on the DS wasn't it? Mega Man 2 or a Mega Man "pack" (like they did on the SEGA Genesis) would be coolest.
What happened to just taking your own skateboard and scanning it into the system?
I mean, that's what Microsoft showed off last year. Anyone?
Oh. We're not supposed to call Microsoft to task on its promises.Got it...
I'm sick of people saying Microsoft "won" E3 because of Kinect when Nintendo "lost" E3 for the very same reasons when they showed off Wii Fit and Wii Sports Resort.
The clear message that I heard was this:
If Gabe "PS3 sucks" Newell put Valve's next big game on the PS3 with more support for it than the 360, even going as far to say that Portal 2 on PS3 will be the best console version....
...well, that really does say something, doesn't it?
Sony DID leave out some big games, but Last Guardian and FF Versus 13 would be better suited for Tokyo Game Show. And Resistance 3 may show up at Gamescom.
I agree with the title. Microsoft lost, Nintendo won, and Sony kinda fell somewhere in the middle.
Not a good sign. Already? First we have the scratched discs less than 1/2 a day after the 360 S is announced, and now this.
HOWEVER, it is good to see that the system shuts down BEFORE it melts. It will save a lot of people a headache.
Don't know if this is true or not, but let's just say that Microsoft has a history of poor 360 hardware. C'mon... isn't the 360 S like...the 7th time they've revised the hardware? I wouldn't be surprise...
Anyone who thinks Microsoft won e3 is fooling themselves.
Microsoft won nothing at e3 except for laughter and facepalms. And of course, its loyal fanbase is doing a stellar job of spinning every bad aspect of Microsoft's conference into something good. The REALLY sad part is that Microsoft forgot YOU - that same core fanbase - at e3 and yet you're STILL jumping in to save Microsoft's honor. Sad.
Yet Turn 10 says Forza 4's graphics will be better than this. Lulz.
Microsoft.
*facepalm*
But HEY! They removed the physical "red lights of death", so that took care of the problem. Right? Riiight?
A big deal for Microsoft, maybe. A big deal for gamers, no.
GTA4 and Fallout DLC proved this.
But Microsoft said they were bring the big guns to E3 this year. So, you're going to simply believe them again?
edit @ below
Exactly. No one likes to wait. Especially if they were told they wouldn't have to wait...
Hahahahahahahh!
C'mon. We all know Turn 10 pushed out bullshots for every single Forza game. You think we're going to take your word for it AGAIN?
The fact is that Forza 3 failed to surpass GT5:P (a "demo" according to many) in many aspects, including graphics. How is Forza 4 going to surpass the full GT5 game?
The author writes "Originally instructed to "lean" to steer, the guides told us about midway through the course that stepping to the side is actually more effective."
Uh oh. Accurate motion tracking? I think not.
As gamers, let's honestly ask ourselves: did ANY Kinect game impress?
And don't spew that same ol' "ummm ummm this is for the casuals! So, don't be such a meanie!"
No. Just no. Microsoft promised Natal would be hardcore. Microsoft promised Natal would support hardcore games and that hardcore gamers would want to get it. Microsoft promised Natal would change the way we (gamers) play games.
Instead, Microsoft is trying...
I don't take this as a bad thing. In games, bigger is not necessarily better.
I'd rather have an uber-refined world than a world 5 times as big but 5 times as empty.
If you're a long-time Zelda fan, then you know that Zelda games have never been known for huge, sprawling, open worlds.
