Look at that sentence: "it looks like Kinect is winning the war in terms of gathering celebrity support for its device".
Just read it. Really, Microsoft? Is this really how badly Kinect is doing that we need to talk about celebrity support for how great your gaming device is?
See, to me, I listen to what GAMERS say, and gaming journalists have been very very disappointed with Kinect.
Hyperbole instead of results. That's how M$ runs their business.
This game looks great, but don't be fooled: if you play the MGS series for the storyline, this game ain't gonna be for the story.
Yep. Nintendo "won", but Sony took a close second. I just love all of the awesome stuff Nintendo showed off. Golden Sun, the 3DS, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart 3D, Ocarina of Time 3D, Snake Eater 3D, Zelda Skyward Sword... there was just SO much!
Looks like Kinect has failed to connect.
Journalists ACROSS THE BOARD are denouncing the praise they gave Natal last E3 and now they're calling out the smoke-and-mirror charade and realizing that Kinect ain't all that.
They won't ruin gaming, just like Nintendo hasn't ruined gaming.
"Ruined gaming" is such a vague term. I could easily say Halo multiplayer "ruined gaming" by giving mouthy 12-year-olds a platform to whine. Or that 3D graphics "ruined gaming" by resulting in a decrease of 2D RPGs and Platformers.
I loved Nintendo's conference and I thought they "won", but I can totally see people thinking that Sony won if certain aspects appealed to you.
But we can all agree that Microsoft lost big time.
Sounds like a winning game. Not my personal cup of motor oil but I'm very happy for all the fans who have been wanting this game.
Looks very good, but not the mind-blowing graphics that some people are claiming. It kinda looks on par with Bioshock 2.
Higher resolution than Halo 3? That means absolutely nothing. Metal Gear Solid 4 has more polygons than Metal Gear Solid. See what I did?
But is anyone surprised by this? I'm not saying that this is a good or a bad tactic. It's just marketing, I suppose.
Yet Microsoft knows that the gaming media were very disappointed with Kinect, so they're reaching out to celebrities and advertisement to make their sales. I really do see Kinect as a sign that Microsoft is starting to circle the drain.
I doubt the storyline will be as epic or crucial to the series as...say.... MGS4 since Kojima is not directly involved in the script or directing of this game. With that said, I am a true Metal Gear fan so I will play and beat this game.
November is going to be an insane month. Isn't Move coming in September and GT5 also coming in November?
Gamers win in the end.
Nintendo kinda did "win" because they showed off so many excellent titles. New Donkey Kong, new Zelda, new Kirby, new Kid Icarus, new Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64, and last but not least a pretty awesome 3DS system that can play 3D movies, play 3D games, uses motion controls, and takes 3D pictures.
Oh sweet! I must have missed this announcement. Both Patapon games are very fun.
This article is hilarious. It's basically saying: "ignore the 3D, ignore the gyroscope, ignore the new analog, ignore the improved graphics, and ignore the improved sound and this is just a DS!"
This is exactly how Microsoft does business with the media.
They did it with the Halo 3 "swag bags" that everyone knew about. They've done it with many of their products.
Both Sony an Ninty were awesome. 3DS looks sweet. infamous 2 looks sweet. There is plenty to list.
Everyone can agree that Microsoft lost big time.
We saw the conference for ourselves, Microsoft. You failed your hardcore gamers because you don't have games. No amount of excuses will change that fact.
"average bunch"? Waaat? Both Sony and Nintendo were great with Nintendo showing off the most.
