Chains of Olympus was a fantastic game, so I'm happy to be getting another GoW game on the PSP.
Only for a Microsoft product would fanboys behave this way, because in no other la-la land would gamers actually support something that...
1. Is shamelessly aimed at casuals
2. has less accuracy than a regular controller
3. has fewer control inputs than a regular controller
4. Costs more than buying 3 brand-new games
Both Gears 1 and 2 had glitches. It's not a stretch to say that Gears 3 will have glitches.
Oh, but wait. Reviewers glosses over mentioning those glitches! Maybe EPIC and Cliffy B are pissed that Lazygamer didn't follow Epic's "love our games no matter what" policy.
Darn, I'm not 5 years old nor do I have kids. How will I ever be a true gamer without the Kinect webcam?
I'd highly recommend the PSP-2000 or 3000. One major reason is that some games (such as the popular Monster Hunter series) require some precision in combat, and it's hella tough to move the camera and also walk while using a PSPGo.
It didn't get slammed by critics (for the most part), but the vast majority of console gamers wrote it off as "that one PC game that has crappy gameplay and is all about teh grafix".
Naturally, they changed their tune once Crysis 2 was announced for consoles.
Gears of War's story is simplistic and derivative. That's all there is to it. Why are you getting mad, Cliffy? You think we've never seen a sci-fi movie before? Oh, I suppose you think a steroid-juiced man screaming "WHERE'S MY WIFE?!?!" is romantic dialog, right?
360 is looking terrible. I can't think of any sane gamer who would stick with the 360 at this point.
Holy moly! I didn't even know this was coming out. I gotta buy it!
Hey gamers! When you argue about sales and attach rates instead of the quality of games, you breed executives such as Kotick. You've brought this on yourselves.
Y'know, they probably will sell 3 million at launch. If anyone can dupe their customers with marketing and hype, it's M$.
Yet, 3 million will be it. Once the product is out in stores, people will see Kinect for what it really is.
Interviews interviews interviews and PR releases.
But where are the games?
It is Halo.
To not slap a 10/10 on the final Bungie-made Halo game would mean losing readers.
I'm sorry, but I'm amazed that many gamers don't understand this very simple concept. It's why Rockstar games, Call of Duty games, and Bethesda games (for example) get very very high reviews despite the fact that they are full of glitches.
Edit @ below. Halo games are pretty glitch-free, but they lack in other areas such as graphics ...
I find the statement "MGS story is too complex" to be insulting to any PS3, 360, Wii or any other sort of gamer.
The idea that the MGS storyline had to be "dumbed down" to match the multiplatform status of MG:Rising just goes to show what a joke this game is. Kojima would not make such statements.
Edit @ below
No, I completely disagree. Metal Gear Solid was playable without understanding the prior Metal Gear games, and ye...
Valve is a great company, but they are not a groundbreaking company, nor have they been since Half Life 2.
Half Life 2 popularized physics (beyond simple ragdoll effects) and made them matter. HL2 also popularized the "gravity gun" idea, which is imitated in many other games. HL2 was - and still is - a groundbreaking game.
However, their recent games such as Left 4 Dead and Portal were not their own ideas. Left 4 Dead comes from fan-made mods of Hal...
It's not a full mission. I won't spoil what it is but it basically resolves what happens to the player character after the main storyline mission is accomplished.
That's a pretty sexy Wii controller. If only I owner a Wii...
Apple needs to get their heads out of their butts.
I will admit that iPhone/iTouch has some fun games. There, I said it! However, does Apple have games on par with Valkyria Chronicles 2, BOwser's Inside Story, MGS: Peace Walker, Monster Hunter, LoZ: Phantom Hourglass, Rhythm Heaven, and the hundreds of other great games on the PSP and DS? Heck no.
This is why I don't play Halo online.
All we hear is PR talk about sales. Microsoft truly has abandoned the hardcore.
