"Microsoft hunting for Xbox exclusive FPSs"
Gamers should stop and re-read that. "Microsoft hunting". They're hunting. They haven't prepared. They havent' developed 1st parties. Now, the best they can do is hunt and hope. Huh...great job providing for your customers, M$. Oh wait, I forgot that you assumed Kinect was the same thing as "providing for your customers"
That list was lame. It basically was "what are 10 popular upcoming games?"
*sniff sniff*
I can smell Edge's 10/10 score for this game a mile away.
Edit @ below
No, Halo sets a new high mark for Halo. Halo hasn't set a new high mark for consoles since Halo 2. Fact.
Where's the beach from the ending of Ico? Or what about the beach from Chrono Cross?
I fear for what sort of cuts would have to be made to the beautiful and complex Total War series in order to make it to consoles.
I hope it doesn't turn into another Dynasty Warrior clone. The Total War games are awesome.
The legality of this aside...
I'm curious about this backup thing and what it implies. Can PS3 gamers back up a PS3 game from a DVD? Is that even possible? The article addresses this and notes that very few PS3 games are small enough to fit on a DVD, so once again Blu Ray had proven its worth.
But what if you don't like Halo? Honestly, it's dumb to assume everyone likes Halo, and contrary to popular fanboy opinion, you can not like Halo and also not be a lunatic PS3 fanboy. Halo isn't for everyone....
I think instead of shouting to everyone "YOU WILL LIKE THIS GAME! IT IS THE BIGGEST GAME EVER!" they should...you know...do stuff for their fans. If Microsoft spent half as much money on 1st-party studios as they spend on PR bull, Sony and Ninte...
*sigh*
For all the supporters of a digital-only gaming future....
...this kinda stuff is what we've all been talking about.
I am beginning to understand:
If a gamer dislikes Gears, Halo, or Fable, they are instantly labelled as a fanboy.
However, it's fine to dislike LBP, GT5, God of War, Uncharted, Killzone, etc.
I think it's a defense mechanism. Sony has plenty of franchises to like/dislike. You don't have to like them all. What does Microsoft have? If you hate on just a few of their franchises, what do you have left?
It will probably be MGR (multiplatform) news.
M$ promised great news at Gamescom, and...wel....you all saw the conference for yourselves.
Wow. Hyperbole, much? Shank is not a classic game. It is an average game at best.
I love PSP. With 3DS coming out, I wouldn't mind a PSP2 (since I'll end up getting both eventually).
The single-player story is meh, IMO (after seeing the spoiler videos), but I am incredibly excited to play through the game co-op with all of the available tweaks to the game structure.
Y'know, N64 had that undeniable Nintendo charm that the PSone couldn't fully recreate.
Ps1 had MGS1, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot, Tekken, and all of those amazing RPGs (FF7, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, Xenogears), but Nintendo had Smash Bros, Super Mario 64, Start Fox, Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Paper Mario, and a lot of games that just oozed quality.
Honesty, both systems were great and they each had so many exclusives that it was worth playing both...
This game looks great. PSP has had some solid titles this year: MGS Peace Walker, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Persona 3 Portable, that Kingdom Hearts game, and now this.
Sales, sales, and more sales.
Leave it to Microsoft to trick its gaming fanbase into thinking they're shareholders and forgetting they're gamers. Watching the numbers tick by on VGChartz (it used to be watching review score averages on Meta) is their favorite video game.
And to think that some people claim Sony is teh doomz.
While the article is clearly flamebait, I'm amazed that most 360 fans aren't aware of Microsoft's business practices in other markets. I'm even more amazed when they ARE aware of M$'s business practices but think that for some reason Microsoft will play nicely in the video game market...
looks freakin' awesome, and I love that classic Valve humor.
Can't wait to play this with Steamworks on my PS3.
I've seen the leaked storyline videos and it was above average, IMO. Not bad, not amazing, but above average for the series. Probably on par with the first game and much better than Halo 2, 3, and ODST.
The ending was sub-par, though, and very melodramatic (like, as if it was a fanfiction ending written by a 14-year-old)
