Is the ps4 and xbone versions using tessellation like the PC version? That coupled with parallax occlusion mapping (gives bricks n' stuff fake geometry or "bumpyness")could be demanding for the systems. The game LOOKS GOOD despite some not-so-awesome textures. I highly doubt the frame rate is a result of "bad optimization". Hell, Total Biscuit even says the game runs surprisingly well all things considered.

Personally I'd choose frame rate over res...

I don't think these low res screens really make the game justice. No doubt the game will look awesome but these screens doesn't really show it.

The only one I REALLY want is Star Wars Battlefront (assuming 1st person is an option like in the previous games).

"Bash" is a strong word. They said and I quote "Clearly, a lot of love was put into making The Order: 1886 look gorgeous" and "The Order: 1886 absolutely nails its period costumes and its wonderfully realized, believable setting". No one is arguing that the game looks phenomenal.

People ask him questions and he answers. That's how interviews work...

I don't know how you got that from the article. To me it's just him talking about the development for gears and the industry in general and why shouldn't he? He's a game developer after all.

Maybe, just maybe they're talking about more than just the graphics?

I think we all expected this. 60 fps would be shocking for a game with these visuals. Like many others have said - 30 is just fine but don't pretend it's for artistic~ reasons.

The game could turn out awesome. It's a shame they didn't really show any new and unique gameplay elements to make it stand out more from so many other third person shooters. Their spin on quick time evenents could be interesting but it remains to see how much of an impact they will have on the overall experience.

The graphics and the world in general looks stunning! I just really hope the gameplay will be equally good. I can't say the small snippets of gameplay shown really impressed me. Instead of showing small narrow alleys and quick time events they should have shown something that would make the gameplay stand out from all the other third person shooters already out there. It's one thing to make next-gen graphics and another to make a next-gen experience. I still remain faithful of course. ...

Could someone remind me what makes him a douche? Like really, I feel like I've missed something. I'm not trying to defend whatever he has done to deserve that reputation but every time he's mentioned all I see is hateful comments without any real context.

I know it could very well be impossible to port the game to ps3 seeing as they are only focusing on taking advantage of the ps4 architecture.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't mean that the actual game experience CAN'T be replicated on last gen consoles.

Sooooo it COULD be made for ps3? Graphics can always be scaled down. It's like saying that AC4/Tomb Raider DE can't run on previous gen consoles because the ps4 has 1080p, better textures and effects. I'm not saying I WANT it on ps3. It's great they're focusing on just one system.

Anyway, I'm actually really looking forward to this game. It's a shame about all the delays but it really is for the best.

Lol @ "delaystation"...

Tf2 is my favorite game of all time and I highly recommend it to everyone. Planetside 2 is also really awesome if you have a decent pc to play it on. All of these games are better than a lot of 60$ games out there.

I don't think the game is ruined at all. It's not like the game with the most players is automatically the winner. I mean come on, it can't be because of hardware limitations so it has to be for balancing reasons. Imagine 32 players. It would either end in chaos with all the titans OR you'd have to wait multiple games to actually drive one.

Massive Entertainment made World in Conflict and it was pretty great. I'm confident these people are more than capable of living up to expectations. I can't wait to see more from the game!

More like: It's a popular, big-selling game and someone is bound not to like it.

He says "This is just me sharing my experience. I am not calling the game a disaster." He experienced a lot of bugs but apparantly it works now after reinstalling the game.

4558d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Of course it's just his opinion? But I guess you're right. He should write "IMO" after every statement he makes.

4558d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

Yeah, because everyone with a negative opinion about a popular game (esecially a sony exclusives) are lying for money.

In case you didn't read it, the "disaster" he's talking about is a lot of technical issues (NOT the game itself) which has now been fixed after reinstalling the game. The rest is just opinions, opinions, opinions.

I respect his opinion. We all have games we don't like but "everyone" else does.

I noticed a few bugs when playing through tlou (like enemies getting stuck in walls and stuff) but nothing major. It was a great experience and it's definitely among the top games this year.
