I'd say you're over-complicating it. How about reviewing a game based around how much fun you had with it? Is the amount of fun you got worth the price tag? Yes? Then by all means give it a higher score.
I personally won't buy the game any time soon but 5/10? Comeooon. Even if you count that as "average" (which most people, especially ign, doesn't do) I respectfully disagree. Eh, just another reason why people should ignore the score and just read wh...
"Read your own comments some of you."
The people who "laughed" at Killzone and The Order probably aren't the same people who say that resolution doesn't matter. Some people care about resolution and some don't. The people who don't aren't trying to defend "microsoft" products. They are simply saying they don't give a fuck.
"I remember the backlash over the order and mp killzone. "
Do you ...
I couldn't sign in yesterday but it seems to be working now!
The main menu has a downloadable content button so yeah it's pretty likely to happen.
Weeell titanfall wasn't really hyped for the graphics to begin with. When watch dogs was first shown it seemed to have next-gen written all over it.
Like you said, it does seem like a game worth buying even if the graphics aren't the best out there. I'm still not sure if I'll buy it for pc or my ps4 but I'm sure it will look decent enough regardless.
The same thing applies if the person is a huge fan of South Park. Maybe even more so. Chances are a lot of reviewers overlooked some of the problems the game might have simply because they love how well Obsidian managed to capture the South Park estetic.
They are all legitimate reviews! I bought Thief eventhough it didn't get very good reviews because some of the things people complain about is not a problem for me! Same with this review.
I don't see any reason why someone who's not a fan of sports can't review a sports game. I don't like sport games so chances are that review would bring up ups and downs about the game that relates more to my taste in games.
You are free to ignore anyone who criticizes a game and instead only read the opinions of people who tells you what you want to hear if that's how you want to do it.
"Why didn't they let someone who would actually like the game review it??"
Because that's not the point of reviews. Read through the review and decide for yourself if the points he bring up are worth complaining about.
I think there were people who noticed it but because we have been told it's 1080p people blamed it on AA issues instead. I'm not saying you're wrong. There are a lot of people who claim to immediately see the difference when really they don't.
You don't have to be a fanboy to see the irony in this :)
Maybe that's why I thought bf4 looked better. I didn't play a lot of killzone mp though. The three matches I played had me fooled at least! You don't really look for it if you've already been told what the resolution is. It's a placebo like someone else said.
I guess it's still a good thing they did it. Framerate > resolution. If only they would have been honest about it in the first place. Maybe then we wouldn't have all of these mindless resol...
Graphics merely okay? Have you even played it? It looks awesome on my pc. Sure, you can argue that the art style isn't the best but on a technical level it's still pretty good.
I see what you mean.
I can't speak for hankmoody but I mostly just comment on articles if my opinion is different from the majority of people here. Otherwise what's the point of commenting?
Now the thing is that most people on this site prefer the ps4 over the xbone (myself included) which means that a lot of times when I state my opinion it will be negative in the eyes of the ps crowd. It seems like the only way to not look like a "hater" ...
Sooo he has to mention something negative about Quantum Break for his opinion to be taken seriously? Come on now...
It's not that people don't like the game. It's just that we don't know a whole lot about it. It's not weird that some people are having trouble getting excited because of it.
Same here. All we hear about is how amazing the graphics are. At this point it feels more like a tech-demo than an actual game.
You know what's funny to me kuntryboy? This is what I saw last week and eeevery week before it.
"Lol xbone doesn't have 1080p games. Only 30 fps? What a horrible system etc. etc."
Now it's either:
"Oh that's nice for a change"
or
"The game looks like crap anyway/they are not taking advantage of the power from the almighty ps4."
Now I actually kind...
Agreed. The game has next-gen graphics but it most certainly doesn't advance the fps genre in any way.
The screenshots are delicious. I don't know how KyLeN does it but all his shots are amazing!
"BEST Milked Franchises".
Thief uses effects like tessellation, parallax occlusion mapping and more. I don't think the games you mentioned do (admittedly I haven't looked it up). They are usually pretty costly on performance so it could very well be the reason why it runs bad.
I agree that exclusives aren't good for gamers who want to experience everything but are you really saying it's somehow more okay for companies like Sony to release exclusives because more people own THEIR console? Is MS "evil" for trying to compete instead of lying down and die?
And sure, EA aren't the ones who made Titanfall but they sure as hell helped fund it. So did microsoft by paying for its exclusivity.
