"Content update" would be even better.
People have been complaining about being forced to use the Kinect since day one. Some people might be disappointed with the recent news but I bet most people are happy with the option of not having to buy it.
"Why even mention PC?"
Why wouldn't people mention PC? The title of the article is clearly "Why resolution will make a big difference in Watch Dogs". People go crazy these days if a game isn't 1080p 60 fps yet no one seems to care enough to get the only system that can run games at that res and fps.
Maybe people should stop calling developers "lazy" for not "optimizing" their games and instead blame themselves f...
True that. All this talk about frame rate and resolution. If people care that much, buy a PC.
"Does X1 DESERVE to be successful and persist?"
"So I can only conclude that the missteps by MS are the product of evil corp greed. "
MS makes decisions like every other company out there. They want to make the consumer happy. THAT'S how they make money. That's how EVERY company makes money.
Do you remember the "innovative" PS3 banana controller? I'm sure Sony made the decision to remove it based on g...
Day one download since it's free!
If they manage to reach 60 fps then I won't mind the less impressive visuals. Then again, I might get this for PC so it might not even be a problem for me.
Made me think of fable 2 haha. Just make sure the gameplay is nice and I'll be satisfied.
Seems like a cool project but is it "necessary" though? I mean would the experience of playing this be any different from playing Oblivion seeing as they have very similar features? And if you want a better looking Oblivion you can just mod it instead of remaking/reimporting the whole game.
With that said, I'd most certainly try this out if it's ever finished.
Developing for next gen consoles is pretty darn expensive and if I had to make the same choice they had to make then I'd probably do the same thing. Not because of power but because of the bigger install base.
You just know people wouldn't be as supportive if this had been an Xbox One exclusive. "Hurr durr, I'm sure MS conviced them with their big fat check".
I hope they have a bloody amazing E3. That way I might be able to justify buying an Xbox One in the future.
That doesn't even make any sense. I can't say that I care that much but I'm still surprised. Has this EVER happened to a game before?
If Microsoft finally decides to let go of the Kinect then I won't complain. It's a bit of a kick in the balls for the people who believed in it but I sure as hell wasn't one of them.
I'm sure Rare could be used for way better things. I know that most of the original people are probably long gone but I'm still hoping for a new Banjo or Conker game.
I never said it's a price drop. It's an option. An option a lot of people want. Yes, the people who got the Xbox One for the Kinect might get disappointed in case Microsoft decides to change their focus away from it. But hey, they paid for a Kinect and they got it.
Personally, if I ever decide to get an Xbox One I'll probably get the Kinect-less version because I still don't see any reason to have one. I'm not excusing the fact that the option should have ...
And how do they sell systems? By making improvements and making sure the consumers are happy. So yes, of course they did it to sell systems. That is in no way a bad thing for us.
It's a cool concept but it's nothing I personally would pay for. At least not JUST for the ability to play older games.
I really want to see Battlefront after all these years. Everything else almost feels like a bonus for me by comparison.
Edit: Now when I think about it, it's about time MS did something good with Rare for a change but I guess that's just wishful thinking...
A better example would be the Wii vs every other console. It's all about the games.
Isn't this like the third game where dualshockers tries to pass job requirements as news? All of these things are standard practice and it's required to have knowledge about these things even if the game they're currently working on isn't using it. The Order will look amazing regardless but you might as well say the sky is blue while you're at it.
Looked to me like it was a mix of pre-rendered and in-game graphics. Mostly pre-rendered.
Nevertheless I'm sure the game will look amazing.
