@Strangelover
Those cutscenes are all in-game and you CAN look around while they're running. That's more than what you can do in Uncharted so I'm not sure what your point is.
It is generally easier to make good graphics for racing games because you don't have to render as many objects. Most effort is being put into the cars for obvious reasons. It's hard to say how the rest of the game compares to other genres because we haven't seen any gameplay where the player actually stops to look at the objects in the world.
It's an amazing game that really shows how far we have come since games like pong were introduced.
It's not one of my personal favorite games ever (I mean come on, there are sooo many amazing games out there) but I really think it deserves the praise it has received.
People whine because the games aren't free in any way, shape or form. You pay a bloody subscription fee for them.
Some people say that the cost for online play is justified because of the "incredible value" ps+ delivers. When these games don't hold up, what then? There will always be SOME people who don't get their money's worth and they have every right to complain.
I don't think it should get a separate score. As far as I'm concerned it's the same game for a different console. CoD:G has a better resolution and improved textures on next gen consoles. Does that mean it should be considered a new game?
TLoU:R has the DLC added but usually when developers do that they just call it "game of the year edition". THAT would be a more fitting name.
"Hey guys did you know that the Xbox One is less powerful than the PS4?"
...and boom, this article goes to the top of the page.
In all seriousness though, I'll probably get this game for PC but I hope things will improve for the X1.
Once again Dualshockers take job requirements and use them to create headlines. Grade A journalism right there. Admittedly this could mean that the next game will have less industrial/urban levels and more nature.
Most games that don't age well are usually going for realistic graphics. Other games have their art style to fall back on.
I didn't say it's absolutely necessary to have 60 fps for EVERY game out there. I just said that it's objectively better.
Saying that 30 fps is "bad" is subjective. However saying that 60 fps is better from a gameplay standpoint IS a fact due to reduced input lag. The game actually controls better. People who say they can't see the difference just haven't been exposed to it enough.
And like Fishy Fingers said, comparing games and movies just doesn't work for a number of reasons.
That really would be the best way to do it for all console games. Aim for 60 and let the people with motion sickness lock it down if they feel like they need it.
Personally I prefer 60 fps AND very beautiful graphics but maybe that's too much to ask?
The interview isn't all about PC superiority. They probably chose to put that quote up front because it will generate more clicks.
"NO ONE CARES WHAT HE HAS TO SAY ABOUT ANYTHING."
Speak for yourself. Reading about what game developers has to say about the industry interests me. I don't care about him as a person like a lot of people here seem to do. Maybe the people who "don't care" should stop saying that they don't care and just move along.
It was more of a response to The_Infected. If we excuse Driveclub because the game looks good then what hope do we have for the future when developers are forced to outdo themselves again?
And as much as I hate to sound like NextLevel, most of the 60 fps games in that list are cross-gen. When last-gen is abandoned and developers try to push graphics as much as they can, chances are they'll abandon 60 fps for the sake of prettier screenshots on the game cover.
It has a lot to do with controller responsiveness as well. If you can't see it then chances are you can at least feel it when you play.
People might as well accept that 30 fps will be the norm this gen. Overall graphics quality is more important to most console gamers and developers/game publishers know this.
These articles about frame rate and resolutions are just unnecessary because it's nothing that we can affect. They are just used as fanboy fuel nowadays. If the people who whine in the comment-sections about this stuff REALLY cares about resolutions and frame rates - maybe it's time to get a PC? ...
Team Fortress 2?
There are tons of silly petitions out there and this isn't one of the worst ones. Remember the "don't release GTA5 for PC" petition? I don't see how releasing the collection for PC would be bad for anyone.
Aaanyway, as usual this petition probably won't affect anything.
Why so mad? Maybe, just maybe the people who say that the award doesn't matter aren't the same people who think that it does.
