I'll be the devils avocado and say that making "fake" threats is still illegal. Tons of people have watched her videos and one of those people COULD be crazy enough to actually do something to harm her. I think it's perfectly understandable that she might be a bit on edge right about now.
Looking forward to seeing more! The concept sounds awesome. I think it's about time they took a break from Killzone.
If they catch someone, someone else will take his place. As horrible as it is, people on the internet has received threats for way less. Like that time they changed a sniper for CoD slightly.
No one should get death threats for having an opinion but at the same time she must have expected it.
Selling a game you've made with pirated software is risky business. If anyone finds out, you're screwed for obvious reasons.
True. If you don't make a good game people are less likely to buy future products.
I'm gonna have to disagree. If you're a developer who wants to make a living making games, you can't just make a game and assume it will get enough publicity by word of mouth and youtubers alone. You MIGHT get lucky but as a business it's a really bad idea to rely on it.
Late response but whatever.
Like I said, context is important. Don't tell me there's not a difference between standing on a scene trying to get a crowd riled up and then on a different occasion actually discussing the topic in a more mature manner.
You don't need a PC more powerful than a console in order to be a "real" PC gamer. Some of the most played games out there aren't that demanding. Take Dota 2 or CS:GO for example.
Edit: Rambo beat me to it :)
I'd say steam stats is the best way to show how big PC gaming really is. This Sunday there were close to 7.5 million users online at the same time and it's pretty safe to say that all of these people are PC gamers.
That's great to hear. I don't usually buy the same game twice but if the game has mod support and runs great then I'll definitely reconsider!
From what I've seen he's pretty respected everywhere but here. I think it's because people here only know him by looking at various sensationalist headlines. Most of which are taken out of context in order to create a sh*tstorm.
I've followed his videos for quite a while as well and to me it feels really strange to see so much hate for him here. Sure, some of his opinions differs from most but that's one of the things I like about him. It's nice to see...
@Mr Pumblechook
He wasn't complaining because he didn't get his own PS4 to play around with. He complained because Sony only allowed journalists to look at their games in a controlled environment. He was worried that journalists wouldn't be able to give a proper assessment while having devs breathe down their neck. When playing something in a controlled environment there's also a chance that journalists will only get to see what the devs want them to see.
You're right, it's impossible to actually like Titanfall so he must be taking bribes. /s
(Note my first response was made before you edited yours)
Maybe I worded that poorly. I'm not saying that games like Crysis 3 are demanding because they're shitty ports. Of course they are demanding because they look bloody amazing. I'm saying that some games can look worse but still be more demanding. Apparently Dead Rising 3 can't run at 60 FPS with two titans (I guess technically one due to no SLI support). Look at Totalbiscuits video. From the looks of it,...
GTA IV was released almost 6 years ago. It ran like crap back then but I wouldn't call it very demanding by today's standards.
Crysis 3 (and Cryengine 3 games in general) ran waaay better for me when I switched from Radeon to Nvidia but even before that it ran okayish considering it's one of the, if not THE best looking game out there. I wouldn't call it broken by any means.
Arma 3 is probably the most demanding game I've played and it's demanding for a reason. Not only does it look good, it also has a ton of stuff going on at the same time.
It's worth noting that more demanding =/= better graphics. The most demanding games are usually demanding due to being shitty ports or because they haven't been optimized properly. I haven't played Dead Rising 3 but apparently that's a prime example.
@Azzanation
Chances are the PS4 was able to reach a higher framerate than the Xbox One but just wasn't able to reach 60 (The magical number you need to avoid screen tearing). That's why all versions are locked to 30.
Before - "Haha, MS doesn't have any first party support!"
After - "Thieves!"
All gamers complain. For every game that is cross gen and for every time the X1 and PS4 versions of a game looks the same, people will complain. On this site in particular you often see people wanting the X1 to "fade out" but that's ok, right?
