Impressive stuff. First AC I've been really excited for since AC2. The latest games didn't really make you feel like an assassin. Hopefully this game will change that.
I'm not playing bf4 on my PC because I'm too busy playing tf2. A 7 year old game which is still receiving free content regularly.
But yeah, there are way better games to play (at least on pc) than bf4. Hell, is it even fixed yet?
I'm guessing they're going for 60 fps not 30.
Using the "people hate Sony" argument is such bs. The game DOES look extremely linear. How is that not worth criticizing? Yes, a lot of other games are also extremely linear but for the most part they're being called out on it as well.
If no one is allowed to say anything even remotely negative about this game because "it's only a 10 min demo" then no one should be allowed to say anything positive either. Fortunately, things don't work like tha...
The game seems to be getting quite a lot of criticism for it's linear nature and I can totally understand that. I don't think it's a case of people "hating" or being xbots or whatever. I think people really wants this game to be good. The story and setting looks amazing so it's only natural that people want the gameplay to be awesome as well.
I know I do.
One of the games I bought my PS4 for. I'd be really disappointed if it didn't even get a release in the west.
But Sony also buys exclusive content. Just recently they got an extra hour worth of content for Watch Dogs. Sony is also charging us for online play.
The "they started it" mentality is a dangerous one. As far as I'm concerned they're all just out to get our money and that's it. Pointing fingers isn't going to solve anything.
In most third person shooters, granades are used as an incentive to keep the player from standing in one spot for too long. In this particular demo it's used as another short cutscene letting you know you didn't click those stationary targets fast enough.
But yeah, it's a very small part of a very big game. As of now we can't know how the final product will end up. I'm really looking forward to seeing more.
If people complain about how the Order looks like Gears then chances are they don't like Gears either. Admittedly I don't look through peoples comment history to know for sure because I don't care enough if someone doesn't like the same game I do.
It's not unreasonable to say that The Order looks like the definition of a corridor shooter (which seems to be the biggest complaint people have) and it's not unreasonable for people to say that they don'...
You can be critical of a game without being a troll. And you're "disgusted" by people who don't like the same things you do? Come on now...
I really wish they would show us some gameplay that isn't as linear/scripted as this. If the game DOES have more open areas - show us! I mean in what way doesn't this look like a straight up point and click shooter? It doesn't even look like he's able to change cover because his friendly NPCs are in the way. At least in games like Uncharted you're forced to stay mobile because of granades and different enemy types.
They shouldn't go down to Microsofts level. Third party exclusives doesn't benefit us consumers in any way. Why on earth wouldn't you want as many people as possible to play great games? Except for fanboyish reasons of course.
@incendy35
Personally I find it really annoying when games use prerendered cutscenes running at 30 fps and then have it switch to 60 when the actual gameplay starts. It takes you out of the experience.
Yes, we knew that from before as well. That's not what the article is talking about though.
The game certainly has some awesome weather features no doubt. Seems really fun to play around with!
Thought the same thing. This article might as well just say "there will be different weather effects in the game". We already know the weather can change while you're racing. Asphalt that dries up "dynamically" isn't exactly a new technical feature we haven't seen before either. While it obviously didn't look as impressive, GTA4 is one of the earliest examples I can think of.
I'm not hating on the game. It looks REALLY good. Probably th...
There could be split screen =/= there will be split screen. You almost got my hopes up. All these new racers are putting so much emphasis on being "social" and "connected" yet none of them feature split screen...
The kicker is most people don't love nor hate MS (or Sony for that matter). Most people look at what games are being offered on each platform and then buy the console which has their favorite games.
As someone who isn't super into driving games I think they're all starting to blend together. Nowadays it's all about being "social" and "connected" (yet none of them seems to offer the option to play split screen multiplayer funnily enough).
I kid, I kid :) I just got reminded of how many games got called "halo-clones" back in the day simply for sharing the same genre.
The point is I don't see much familiarity between QB and Uncharted at all. They're both cinematic third person shooters. That's about it.
Playstation all-stars battle royale is pretty decent isn't it? Something to play till Smash Bros gets here. Joe Danger seems nice as well even though I don't have a Vita :/
Can't say I'm happy with the other recent ps+ offerings though. Nowadays I'm only paying to play online.
