^^^^^ Hahaha. I love that somebody actually clicked "disagree". That's the very definition of denying reality. :D
No, but when they make statements like this it sure sounds like it: " tracks full-body movement, facial expression, and voice with a precision that makes ... Wii look like a distant ancestor and ought to make Sony, with it's own motion-based Move controller, somewhat nervous. "
Do you think this author actually witnessed facial expression recognition? Do you think this author has actually used Move? Is there any evidence to suggest that, even under the most c...
@Hades: Please define "perfectly fine". Do you mean like when he's steering hard over and the car is going basically straight?
Would anyone care to post a link to any source indicating that flash photography is a significant source of near-IR radiation? I would've thought that flash units would be optimized for the visible spectrum, as it would be inefficient to waste a lot of energy on IR, or for that matter ultraviolet, radiation.
Maybe we've got somebody here that engineers camera systems.
MS obviously wants everyone to be discussing price comparisons, as it serves their faulty premise: that somehow Wii=Move=Kinect.
Nonetheless, even this article misses one glaring point: that many of us can get into Move for $50, since we already own a PSEye, and already have Move-enabled games.
Oh, Adam...
Are you really still repeating, in 2010, that XBL is superior because of its RELIABILITY?
Really? Does ANYBODY complain about the reliability of PSN? You'll find many who claim that dedicated servers for PSN games are superior. I sure don't hear gamers complaining about PSN reliability, and I seem to recall more than one story about XBL outages.
Surprised no one has mentioned X-Specs yet. We were rockin' 3D with LCD shutter glasses, what, 20 years ago?
Ahh, nostalgia.
Faery Tale Adventure, Wayne Gretzky Hockey. And I'm probably the only one that played Ports of Call.
...too much...
Hmmm, not too sure how Move would be properly employed in Warhawk. Campaign, maybe? I don't think I'd want to use it for multiplayer, with the constant switching between the different play modes.
And yes, I agree 100% that this is a GREAT, rock-solid online multiplayer game. And yes, I'm one of those people who still spends way to much time playing it (on occasional binges).
This article is factually inaccurate.
The Kin came directly out of the 2008 acquisition of Danger, which cost Microsoft in the neighborhood of $500 million. Add to that two years of development costs with zero revenue, and the considerable marketing campaign they'd launched for Kin. The final cost we'll never know, but it's far in excess of $240 million.
Oh my, good times. Foxhunt, Fishhook, Blizzard...
Hawt! :D
Always completely overlooked: for all the (millions?) of us that already have the PSeye, Move is super-cheap. How many existing xbox camera owners will get Kinect cheaper? Hint: <1
Has Pachter ever actually PLAYED a videogame? All this talk about relative price points is well and good. But what about the damn things actually working for games?
^^^ @sony fiend
HAHAHA! Classic!
So what happened to "You don't know the price, but when people see it they'll be pleasantly suprised"?
Let me guess. It went the same way as "You haven't seen the latest build" and "There's no more lag".
Consider the orifice...er, source.
"The Kinect tech is solid if not spectacular which is why Sony is working night and Day trying to develop there own 3D mapping camera device."
I count four factual errors in that single sentence. Is that some kind of record?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! !!!
"Not sure if this is true or not, but I heard that you will need to purchase a playstation eye camera"
No way, dude! Where the hell did you hear that?!?!
What a fitting endorsement for Kinect. :D
"...the Xbox business unit researched the concept and determined it couldn't be done...It wasn't going to work"
Priceless.
