It's getting tired. Just make a good game. As a Wii owner myself, I never expected PC like graphics, but after having the GameCube and seeing that the system was home to arguably the best looking games last gen, knowing the Wii is twice as powerful as the Cube, when you'd see devs put out games that look like PS2 incarnations, it was easy to see they were not putting in any real effort.
Cube wiped the floor with PS2 graphically. Games like RS2 and RE4 and MP and even Twilight P...
HD consoles only sell "established titles" as well if you want to play that game. So if the Wii recieved the RE5's the SF4's the GTA's they'd sell, but that's supposed to happen. I wonder what would happen to a game like HoTD if that were on the HD consoles, an on-rail shooter? Didn't Time Crisis flop big time? What about Bionic Commando? Wanted? And let the record show, when you flop on the Wii you don't go bankrupt. Flop on an HD console and its curtains.
Give the c...
Lets be clear, no studio shut down because of a Wii game flopping.
Funny thing is, had this game been on Wii and sold like that it'd be the systems fault everyone would scream "Wii demographics" but if it flops on the HD system its the games fault "it sucks".
Two things: 1) you seem to be attempting to lump HD consoles with PC's as if they are on the same level..they are not. HD consoles aren't even junior pc's in other words, HD consoles couldn't hold a fleshed out gaming Pc's jock. They are gimped pc's attempting to be something they cannot.
2)True gamer? So it doesn't matter if the Ipod sells the most mps players, true MP3 connoisseurs know the zune is superior. Or it doesn't matter if DS sells millions true gamers know psp is be...
But my question is how many 10m+ sellers will Nintendo have this generation? Their software sales are just ridiculous.
They make another game in the vein of RE 4 Wii edition, there's so much potential for a masterpiece like that for Wii.
Nothing against on-rails, but I feel that genre is saturated on Wii, and I think that sales of the titles like this one and Extraction will show devs to bark up another genre.
People trying to bring up PS2, PS2 couldn't hold a candle to the GameCube graphically. RS's 2/3 Twilight Princess and Prime 1/2 hell RE4 on the PS2 game was ugly as sin.
Some folks are looking at things with rose colored glasses. No game on PS2 ever moved as fluid or had any of the effects Prime 3 does, AND runs at 60fps. Stop talking silly. And stop feeling butt hurt at the fact the Monster Hunter 3 is a gorgeous game..period.
Konami's been largely absent from the Wii with any substantial content. Maybe that will change.
Now the argument switches to either
1) "Well its Monster Hunter, of course its gonna sell"
2) "Monster Hunter is now a casual game"
LoL, these folks are tireless.
The level of intelligence in this thread is comparable to that of an Ameba.
We still have people calling it a fad? Seriously? Unreal. Keep living in fantasy land.
This is pretty strange. I heard no complaints or "review details" when MGS4 got perfect scores. What is with gaming media these days? I guess Wii is begining to look like a viable platform and the "hardly-cores" can't take it. Oh well, good riddance to bad rubbish.
It is STILL the $hit, lol. Also, I just have to say it, seeing you with an avatar after all this time, took some getting used to, but whatever it is, it suits u lol.
Wii can always use a good quality racer. I wonder what else Bethesda has in store for Wii.
You'll hear it hear first folks, the first dev team to nail a TPS on the Wii with Motion+ Support will be a very rich team.
At my Avatar, you know I'm anticipating this game, greatly. Whether its Holiday 2010, summer 2010, Quarter 2 2010, I don't care. As long as its a quality game, I'm there.
Quiet as its kept, Wii is amassing quite a games library.
There was an article talking about Wii's core audience not showing up...well there goes that theory.
Ah man, gotta love the title, dripping with fanboyism.
Oh well. Funny thing is the Wii is still outselling both competitors, usually combined, but Wii is the sytsem in trouble.
This was a master piece of a series.
If what you've said is true: "Third parties either aren't willing to or aren't talented enough to create games that utilize motion-based controls as the primary input." How will this effect third parties and HD development in the near future when PS3 and 360 are supposedly releasing their own version of motion tech.
Nintendo dominates not just their own platforms but lists of the top sellers of all time are always Nintendo made titles. They are the OG's of gaming.
...
Evil. I'm glad some folks around here actually have brains.
Because if that's the case then damn near every game on the ps2 was a flop "compared to userbase"
There's nothing to get over. you seem to be the one with a bug up his ass. Mario Kart outsold by itself on one platform more than the biggest budget mulitplatform game on two competing consoles, but I guess that doesn't mean much.
I guess anyone with a different perspective is a fanboy though. Fair enough.
