It is even worth responding to such an ignorant post.
Favorite catch phrases this gen has been "It's an established IP so of course it will sell" This is used to find some way to marginalize the success of Wii titles that debunk a lot of the faulty, opinionated posting that goes on around here. My response to this is, isn't that applicable to all consoles this generation?
Wii has not received the main entrees of these well known IP's yet by and large the Wii sells the most third party software..isn't that odd? But I digr...
Your system must be so crappy that you've got nothing better to do than troll a news article for a system you don't have, but secretly want..you must have a case of Wii Envy.
I wonder if I had trolled an Uncharted 2 news post and said something along the lines of "Fvck the PS3" would my comment have been deleted and I would probably be relegated to only posting in the open zone for 3 days..minimum.
But I do think you are overestimating this one game, against say a game like NSMB which will outsell FF twice over.
Just wait and see this holiday, while it may be close between 360 and PS3, neither will hold a candle to the Wii alone.
Let's talk after X-mas 09, then you tell me if it's the end of Wii dominance then.
Just ONE question: Would EITHER of these two games sell any better on any other platform? Hell NO.
It is not the platform and the consumers fault these games don't or didn't sell. The moment it was made clear that DSE was an on rails game there was enormous backlash, that right there showed me this game was going to have an uphill battle. They spent the majority of their marketing talking like politicians "guided first person experience"...You mean another rail shoot...
Also, well said.
Didn't dead space on 360/PS3 flop as well? I remember EA saying they weren't able to profit due to lower than expected sales. And now they think an on rail shooter on the Wii is supposed to sell like Mario kart?
I didn't buy it and lost interest in it the moment it was announced that it was a rail shooter. But go ahead EA blame the customers. Hell, if that means no more rail shooters from you then I couldn't care less. I wonder if the devs of games like Wet, or Wanted will bit&...
Also..sorry oobob, you've commited the offense of talking sense in a nonsensical news piece. As much as I like you, I cannot let this go unpunished..Also Evil..consider yourself warned as well, lol.
But seriously things must be real slow around here if this is what things have come to. This passes as news? Compare an unfinished game to a finished game on obviously stronger hardware? Was this just for $hits and giggles?
I'm noticing more and more people I have tra...
But, I will say that Madden..The potential is there, but no one has stepped up to the plate. Things like call your shots are glimpses at what CAN be done. Some people prefer titl controls in a racing game like say Mario Kart (I'm not one of them lol) but it harkens back to the old arcade days..Remember playing a racer sitting down with a Wheel and a stick shift? Good times, good times.
Honestly, I think Motion Controls have only been limited by the developer decisions. I would ...
Time to get a new song to sing.
Wii's control set up makes it ideal. Even a mediocre title like Conduit proves this without a shadow of a doubt. Their customizable controls has queitly revolutionized the way console shooters should play.
People screaming "graphics" really need to open their eyes, graphics will not save a bad game from being bad. You HD guys have no idea just how gimped your FPS' are. All the main FPS this gen are better on the PC than on the wannabe PC consoles. This is fact. Dual ...
holding it down as usual;)
I'm glad this game isn't being hyped, hype kills. Many Wii games right now are flying uder the radar including which could possibly be the biggest game of the year NSMB. But I digress, I can careless about hype I'm more interested in getting this game in my hands which incidentally won't be long.
Very true. but when they are only allowing 5 games..I doubt 5 people bought JFG lol (I kid, i kid). It was a very under rated game and correct me if I'm wrong, one of the only 3rd person adventures of that gen?
Surprised not to see MK64 on there myself. But as long as Ocarina of Time is there, I'm content with the list..Banjo coulda been replaced by Wave Race 64 IMO.
I was also getting sick of the same games of the N64/PS1 era but with a new coat of paint. The only game to truly impress me last gen was Metroid Prime and that may be because it was a fresh interpretation on a classic franchise. I really was going to sit this gen out because all I saw was the same old controllers same old games etc. But the games while looking fantastic didn't offer much else. IMO.
The Wii was really a breath of fresh air for me because I loved "learning ...
If they have a wider audience than Nintendo why are they trailing them by 30m units?
People in the business world are starting to look at Nintendo's success and scratching their heads..but before that they must tip their hats.
For Nintendo to perform as well as they are in the midst of economic hard times such as these it is a phenomenal accomplishment.
Regardless of what you think about DS and Wii, or any other console or preripheral released prior to those two, you have to respect what Nintendo has accomplished as a company.
I may be off on age here, but anyone I'd say 23 or maybe 24+ can remember how dope that game was back on the NES. There was even a gameboy version too. And if you are part of that age group, you can't help but smile watching the WiiWare footage.
I'm not big on WiiWare games but I'd buy this one. I loved excite bike as a kid. Maybe the next WiiWare game will be RC Pro AM ;) (showing my age a bit here lol).
Excite bike was like the foundation for later games like ...
