I guess Sony is listening to their fans after all. A lot of PS5 players say they are happy to pay the $10 PS4-to-PS5 upgrade fee. Sony is happy to comply for this & charge every PS4 upgrade with $10 .

Nintendo has never change the cpu nor graphic output in the middle of their console life.
Before Xbox 360, the console market was deiminated by Japanese big 3 for 2 decades: Sega, Nintendo & Sony. Xbox 360 brought in a Western, near-PC experience. Those were very fresh experience for gamers (outside of Japan). Since the architecture was very similar to PC, this gave Western developers a much easier task to develop/ port their games between PC & 360. This leaded to the explosion of Western games on 360.
Unlike the pervious gens, this gen PS5/ Xbox Series doesn't have that "cannot-be-done-last-gen& quot; functions compare to PS4/ Xbox One.
PS3/ Xbox 360 -- build-in network function: this enabled on-line game play that was impossible on PS2/ OG Xbox
PS4/ Xbox One -- build-in HDD: this enabled true open world game play that is impossible on PS3/ Xbox 360.
PS5/Xbox Series -- ..............
MS got 2 defense contracts before 2020 (both this canceled JEDI contract & the Halolens contract) . Then MS bought Zemimex with $7.8 billions. The biggest share holder of Zemimex at that time is the Trump family. So, in reality MS had transfer a very large sum of money to the Trump family. Why no new outlet pickup on this money trail?

A lot of reports file to mention: Trump family was the major share-holder of Zenimax, the company that MS actually bought (Bethesda was just the subsidiary company of Zenimax group). So a large part of the $7.8b paid from MS actually goes to the Trump family.
Platinum now seems to focus mainly on Switch. Also their style of games do not fit well with the current gen of Sony vision, which is Western style open world big budget action games.
But.... for anyone who has played the Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheel DLC, this up-coming Hot Wheel game seems too dark (in the indoor environment) & too tame.

This is a mobile game, thru & thru. Outside of US & Western European markets, mobile game is the main platform.
The $70 price IS A Sony issue, since it is Sony that charge for $70 at their exclusive titles. The fact that those game will have a discount very fast (not pre-owned) means that at the price point of $50 Sony is still making profit. So the margin of $20 is pure profit.

MS just spent, well around 8 billions in development. So the cost of E3 is just a pocket change.
Sea of Thieves is real game play. Forza Horizon 5 is real game play. Flight Sim is real game play. Yes Outer Worlds 2 is 99% fake CGI. Several new IP are announced. I guess you didn't even bother to follow the actual E3 presentation.

You cannot simply shrink a PC game down to a handheld form factor & expected it to be playable on a handheld console.
The 4 different ego systems of gaming: PC, traditional consoles (PS5/ Xbox), mobile & Nintendo; each has its own unique game design requirement, pricing structure, control scheme, etc. It take a lot of effect & careful changes to successfully port a game between ego systems, like porting a PC game to console.
