Remember this is a beta testing, meaning that even Sony is not sure what will happen next. & Sony clearly stated that they will not be responsibility if anything go wrong.

Sony is now asking you guys to risk your own (PS5) live & may potentially pay for your own (PS5) bricking?.... & you PS5 owner is going to happily accept this?....... This is just like the old joke that you need to pay for the bullet on your own execution.

@forstypants If none of the manufacturer can achieve the requirement from Sony, it means that the requirement itself is unachievable. It means Sony design this requirement in a vacuum & never consult the manufacturers on what is feasible.

But this test will be done on "live subjects (paid customers)"......

:) Which part of the world you're flying now? Asia is in bad weather now, so there are many clouds over here is East Asia right at this moment. I also enjoy those Discovery Flight. Those flight usually have a clear sky & less cloud. :)

This put the "Series S will hold back current gen game" argument to rest!!!! When Series S can run Flight Sim as good as PC & SeriesX, it can run anything!

For TopGun dlc, we have to wait until November.

"Am I reading that right?" of cause not. The 4% decrease is the growth rate, not the actual money value. It means MS is making money 4% slower then last quarter, not losing money. Remember, there were not that many big 3rd party games released between April to June (Outrider & MLB the Show 21).

@IRetrouk It is irrelevant how many unsold X/S in retailer's shelve related to MS's P&L. Those are the problem of retailers. Unless we can have photo from the warehouse from the manufacturer, the unit un-sold in retailer no-longer related to MS.

Of cause not! Those are sold to retailers, not the inventory of MS anymore. Of cause MS would already realized in their P&L the lose on each X/S sold.

Outside of US & Western Europe, mobile phone is the major gaming platform. Only Nintendo is trying to compete in that same mobile market.

But I'm also interested to try crush-land a jumbo jet like A330 on water........

I think helicopter is more difficult to fly then a fix wing aircraft.

There are actually a lot of YouTube videos showing Flight Sim running on SeriesS. It run smoothly. Series S version does compromised on draw distance & ground detail.

Outside of US, football is a big seller. That is why Konami will not abandon football game, even thou they essentially let go of all other video game IP.

Why everyone is trying to compare Steam Deck to Switch. I think the true comparison should be between Steam Deck vs Stadia. Why? Both products are trying to diversify PC gaming. At the same time, both products seems to ignore some fundamental of PC gaming. Stadia tries to put PC gaming on a cloud only environment; ignoring the fact that the current internet speed is not fast enough for PC gaming. Steam Deck seems to ignore the fact that PC games are designed to be played on a big screen (21&...

I feel the SteamDeck is similar to Stadia, a product that is technically possible yet fail in the general gaming market. Steam players are all PC gamers, which demand the fastest CPU, the best graphic, 4K, play games on the biggest possible monitor, etc. I'm not sure how many PC gamer will settle for a sub-optimal gaming experience, apart from the earlier-adaptors.

Currently the biggest competition to Nintendo is actually mobile gaming. A lot of the Japanese games (& Asian games for that matter) that would traditionally appear on Nintendo are now go directly to mobile. A lot of the latest amine tie-in games don't even appear on Nintendo.
As for Steamdeck, I think it is aiming at a completely different customer based than Nintendo.

It will only be available on Series X/S.

1663d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I think that is just wishful thinking from Western players. Nintendo has never made any mid-life-upgrade to any of their past consoles. For each generation of their consoles (SNES, N64.... to Wii & WiiU), Nintendo would only make some minor changes like the physical size, increase RAM, etc. It has never change the CPU or graphic SoC.
