Since it's an interactive world where you have your own avatar, they need to let users attain things that they can USE. If I beat R&C, let me have one of those guns to tote around. Let me get Ratchets boots or have a Clank robot to toy around with. Beat God of War? Give the player Kratos' Athena Blades. Tony Hawk? Let them have Skateboards, shoes, and other relevant items.
If all we ever get are the same trophies with a different coat of paint, Home will get really forgetta...
but with the recent merger, I could easily see this becoming a reality. Besides, what better way to test the "MMO console" waters than with the worlds most popular(and notorious) one?
They certainly have a lot less to lose than an upstarting developer, that's for sure. I say go for it, but I still won't buy it.
The PS2's disc read errors didn't stifle it for long, and this is no different. IMO, the acknowledgement and steps to alleviate the issue should have been taken well before the PS3 launched, and they're paying for it now.
Better late than never though, but Sony's machine really wouldn't have had the reliability(BIG issue with even half-witted consumers) advantage up to now.
Gran Turismo 6 will be. This series has always gotten better with each successive installment, so I expect this to be no different.
I think it was the sum of all parts that made Starcraft what it was. I constantly switched between Melee and UMS maps.
This is like a quote ripped RIGHT out of a tabloid publication. Pathetic that the nasty habits of shoddy journalists have infected some of the members here.
The guy says that he believes that it WILL BE the most reliable available. Say what you want, but that's not a completely unfair thing to say.
Read the excerpt, don't take the bait...
Anything to inflate those bloated egos, anything to soothe that hurt pride...and above all nurse the insecurities.
gamming notebook a couple years ago for F.E.A.R., when the 7800 was all the rage. Ran that and Oblivion well enough...haven't bothered since, but that's just me. What you say makes sense though, and like I said that is really interesting.
Thanks for the info.
Killzone 2 is probably the closest thing we have, but the most comparable aspect of the game is character models...oddly enough the ONLY area where Crysis is lacking.
Otherwise, Crysis has much better textures, physics, environmental interactivity, destructibility, and pretty much everything and anything else under the sun.
I wholly prefer the look and feel of Killzone 2 though, to be honest, but technically, it's not on the same level.
**EDIT**

The critique, analysis, breakdown, or whatever you'd like to call it, and then a section called "our take/opinion" or whatever you'd prefer to call that.
Everyone has a bias, yes, but as a professional, you need to know when to set it aside. Human resources is a good example. Heck, writing reports on your subordinates is a better one. You can't include words in such things like "I think this person has done a great job during their time here and is an excellent w...
but that's interesting. Elaborate, please.
but I still have my doubts.
Hey, like I said though, nothing would please me more than such a revelation, so bring it on I say.
As of right now, I'm just a tad bit skeptical, but if it happens...I won't cry foul.
you mean 600p Call of Duty? Haven't played Bioshock, but the same Uncharted in which Drake clips through 99% of all the foliage in the game? Same game in which said foliage is static and doesn't react to any movement at all whatsoever? Same Uncharted with level sizes that pale in comparison to Crysis? Same Uncharted with um...ZERO physics and ZERO environmental destruction? Come ON NOW.
I love Uncharted. I own it, it's beautiful, has a great story, likable characters, and is po...
but I grew to appreciate it. It carved it's own identity I think. If they rehashed Starcraft with a Warcraft coat of paint, then I think I would have been more disappointed. Personally I think the way the game ended up works very well for what it is...but nothing touches Starcraft though.
There was a secret mission during the campaign in which you controlled Zeratul. He was tailing Duran, and Duran had several cases with Protoss/Xel'Naga hybrids in them, or something to that effect.
I say sort of because since it was more of an experiment, you can't really count them as a bona fide race...at least not until we know of what happened with them and Duran. Heck, in that one Duran himself is very obviously not Zerg, Protoss, or Terran. I won't say he's Xel himself, b...
but I really don't think Vader fits the SC play style. Darth Maul, Dooku or Mace Windu would have been much better choices if you ask me, as they're all more agile and IMO much more exciting to watch than Vader.
Truth be told I think he's a chump, and the prequel trilogy revealed him to be a spoiled, mindless lunatic. Yeah, the outfit looks cool. The voice is up there with the best, very domineering and commanding. The breathing...it's iconic. As a character though...he sucks, ...
I think they are reading too far into this. I know for some it's just some lighthearted, fun discussion, but for some others...may heaven(or whatever you believe) help them...but then they've needed help long before this was announced.
How many times is some jackass gonna tell us what is and isn't dead or dying?
Every couple of weeks we get a new
"Will XYZ save ABC?"
"The DEF is dying!"
"10 reasons why GHI won't succeed in 20xx"
"Why LMNOP was an utter disappointment"
It's like clockwork, and they're always full of sh*t. This instance is no different. This guy's half as*ed opinion piece on why HE DOESN'T believe in PC gaming an...
What I had was more than capable of running SCII, but oh well, nothing wrong with more horsepower under the hood...oh nothing except the price tag that is >_<
Anyway, I love Starcraft. Not loved, LOVE. To this day it's my favorite game, irrespective of platform.
As a single player experience, it had some of the most memorable characters, challenging levels, and engrossing stories I've ever experienced.
As a multiplayer experience...my was it ...
I've heard that there's been reliability issues.
