Sony is just a beast when it comes to hardware refinements. I mean coming out a year late to the party and getting a slim before anyone is pretty impressive. And they did it without too many hardware problems for consumers. Pretty good stuff.
So Apple has had these commercials for about 3 years straight where the whole commercial is slamming PCs, and now they come crawling saying stop? I freaking hate Apple. I bought a MBP 2 years back for $2100, and it was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. Loved iMovie and no viruses, but the rest is overpriced fluff.
If Sony doesn't market the crap out of this game and provide a price cut in time for it, I'll be pissed. ND really deserve to have the biggest marketing blitz Sony has ever done with a PS3 game (which isn't saying much mind you. LOL)
I think it's pretty funny actually. A better ending though would have been seeing what the girl really looks like to a non gaming nerd. Have the girl actually be a 3 but the gaming nerds seeing her as a 10 because she's into nerdy things like them. LOL
People can talk smack all they want, but it's clear that this game is going to look stunning and be the king of content. I always find it funny when zealots say something must be prerendered and then it's not. It just cements the fact that they thought it looked better than what is possible. LOL
There are things that GT won't be able to touch (paint jobs and customization), and some things Forza 3 won't be able to touch (higher res, more cars, rally). In other words, real racer fans will want and enjoy both.

I'm not saying PSN is better overall. I'm not. But for some things, yes it is. That's all that was being said.
I think the repair cost is weak to add. But the fair comparison is someone just wanting to play online, and paying out each year. If you plan on having your 360 for 4 years, that's over $200 right there. So even an Arcade after 4 years has cost as much as an 80gb PS3 with Wifi. The Pro is then over $100 more than the 80gb PS3 with wifi as well.
The problem with this rumor is that Sony isn't really making money now. In other words, if they aren't making money now on 2006 hardware, how in 2010 will they be able to come out with an upgrade specs wise along with a PSEye and the motion controller included and keep the price down and make money? They are already losing money right now. They wouldn't be able to upgrade the specs much at all. Maybe just memory to 1gb and a HD upgrade. My guess is they would have to sell this thing for at le...
Here's a test for all those hardcore 360 owners who all of a sudden gone on the Natal Bandwagon (or PS3 owners with this new motion controller).....
Ask them if they want Fable 3, Halo 4, Gears 3, Forza 3, God of War 3, MGS5 to be strictly motion controls. If not, ask them why they wouldn't. Then they start seeing outside of their bubble of why this is limiting.

One of the best games of all time was Elite 2 IMO when I played it. hundreds of planets, each with their own economy and things to trade, smuggling, pirates, police.... And all done in 3D. It was so cool taking off from the surface of a planet, entering the stratosphere, then into space while police ships chased you down. It was also a lot of fun to dock in a space station. This isn't your Mass Effect where they just brought you to the planet surface. If you wanted to, you could literally fly...

Saying Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 demos were the best out of all the others is a big claim considering Alan Wake and Splinter Cell were also shown. I would agree, but it's still putting it out there big time.
This is great, but this is no longer the end of 2008. We've moved well beyond with Uncharted 2, which IGN gave "Best Graphics Tech" of E3. And that's with IGN obviously having seen this demo.

This isn't a "Ha ha! Sony Rules!" Kind of point. This is a "shut up. The PS3 is doing comparable to the 360" Kind of point. This basically shows it's not doom and gloom for the PS3, so people on the other side should just cram it and accept the fact that the PS3 is selling just as well, and both are doing well enough.

One was previewed to the world before the other was even finalized. Peter M even said that for the first time, a character can recognize what a player has drawn. I guess he doesn't go to Sony press conferences the year before. EyePet was shown at E3 08 I believe and Milo E3 2009 where Peter M said they had been working on this for just 3-4 months.
