Gears? Color pallette? Only Ansel Adams was capable of creating more shades of gray. Hard to call gray, sepia, and lets not forget blood red a color pallette.
Gears 2 looked marginally better than Gears did, and gameplay wise probably more of been there and done that, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it'll be a release date purchase for me.
But if you think R2 looks like crap, it may be time for that eye exam again, or lose the green colored glasses distorting your perception.

Kev, how can you be sure? MS's penetration is very poor in Japan and the return on their investment for that territory may not be worth it. It's also illogical to think every deal that is cut is of the all-or-nothing type. It has not been disclosed whether MS paid for FF13 or not and anyone who says they KNOW and isn't employed by either firms accounting departments is lying at worst and misleading at best.

The PS2 was $129.95 last time I bought one about 2 years ago. Sony killed everyone the last two generations and are poised to make a move again. But hey, why let facts get in the way of your little fanboy rant, genius.
Declaring a clear winner or loser at this point is idiotic. Even if you only consider a 5 or 6 year lifecycle, we're not even two full years into it. It's like declaring a winner two innings into a ball game. There's a whole lot of baseball left to be played and anything can happen.
