Grand Theft Auto 4 reportedly cost $100 million to make.
at $60 a pop, the game has made what so far, over $400 million dollars?
they've easily made back development costs, and made a heft profit to boot.
It's not quite that simple. If that's development cost that doesn't include the cost to produce the actual games and packaging, the cost of the company doing the shipping, who have to pay the guy driving the truck, possible warehousing costs, t...
Why we want it: Because Shadow of the Colossus was the best PS2 game ever.
Why we want it: Because Resident Evil 4 was the best overall game released last generation, boasting immersive gameplay, clever combat, and ridiculously good-looking graphics.
WTF? Can both of these statements be true at the same time?
Agreed. Anything is possible, but I'm having a hard time buying this one.
Yeah Pumpkin, I guess since Cliffy's complaining he must be a Sony fanboy too. God forbid a 360 owner not like the D pad, he must be a Sony fanboy. No such thing as valid criticism or personal preference in your world, huh?
Crazy, why don't you post links (and officially from Sony, not some other internet BS) to the 'lies'?
If truly you are 'Da Man' don't bet, do the research and post it.
Thanks for the info ShadowFlare.
Does the trophy enabled version of SSHD just come as an automatic update? Also, the version I have (including the expansion pack) doesn't seem to have split-screen co-op, unless I'm missing something.
Any help?
What was the source of Sony's loss? Was it repairing defective product? Or was it the normal loss console manufacturers initially make on hardware sales but recover on software licensing? If it's the latter, you have to add that in to MS's losses as well to get a true apples-to-apples comparison.
My nephews (who share one) and I bought our 360's within a few weeks of each other, both Pros. They had 3 Pros fail with replacement through Best Buy, upgraded the last replacement to an Elite and just had that repaired by Microsoft. Now two teenage boys play their system a hell of a lot more than me, so that may be the reason, or perhaps I just got lucky (which is my hope). So lets see...two consoles purchased and four failures...that's a 200% failure rate.
The thing that suc...
Your screen name and avatar show no bias whatsoever...
Try playing the game prior to posting.
I will rate your fanboyism 10/10, however. Good job.
The 360 was out a year prior to the PS3 - November 2005 vs November 2006. What was Microsoft's projected life cycle of the 360? All the X-onlys better hope that Sony doesn't threaten MS as that may cause them to rush to release and we all know how that went for them this generation. They have got about a billion reasons to NOT rush out their next console. As far as it being THE console to own, that remains to be seen. I for one, will own both.
As barom stated you have to look at the value. When you add the cost of the 360, wireless adapter and HD-DVD drive (prior to it's failure) you come up to more than $600.00. (and my 360 only has a 20 gig HDD, my PS3 a 60 gig)
And everybody assumes Sony is off their gameplan. They're Japanese. Maybe, just maybe they still have some of that slow and methodical approach their culture has been known for, as opposed to the instant-gratification-rush-eve rything-to-market American ...
Halo 3's campaign in single player and co-op is fun, and online is an absolute blast, but I do understand what people are saying about some online players. I can't however, detract from the software based on how some idiots use it.
It may be the fact that the PSP can be used as an extension of sorts with the PS3.
They both remind me of collecting Madden Cards, but applied on a system level as opposed to on a game level.
Agreed, nothing revolutionary here...
I disagree. Achievements don't necessarily coincide with unlocking some game content. If you play some PS3 exclusives, like Resistance, for example, you unlock game content without having an achievement or trophy system.
poG, do you work for Sony now and know what they have up their sleeve?
Or maybe you work for Microsoft and know there will never be any circumstances that may force them to drop XBL fees?
Just more stupid fanboy BS trying to be passed as fact.
XBL is a great service and value at $50 year, and I don't see the ads as being a big deal. If it bothers people that much, don't subscribe. No one is holding a gun to your head. Vote with your wallets.

'360 had this from day 1 and I'd be glad to pay 50 bucks a year for it.'
I believe you're mistaken there. The video showed full access to the XMB. You don't have in-game access to the full dashboard on the 360.
That's it, turn to crime. Insurance fraud may be more lucrative than petty piracy though....
