'Where is Olive Popeye? Eating spinach?'
No, she's eating Whimpy, and being hit from behind by Bluto.
Does the 20GB sku being clearanced count as a price cut?
@ Breakfast
'I didnt even have to put thought into this comment.'
Why start now and ruin your record? :)
It would be interesting to know how many of these units may have been the 'clearance' 20GB.
Keep the competition going for our benefit.
Assuming most 360 owners will migrate to the 720 (I know I will) and Microsoft plans ahead to allow Live to support both consoles, there will be no problem. If they have full BC on the new system, it's a done deal.
'31. is not aerodynamic (ps3 are the most aerodynamic) haha!'
Come on NS, you've got to admit this one was pretty funny, and somewhat imaginative.
'They don't give SOLID reviews, and lie on a GRAND scale.'
I just hope they're not GEARing up for more of those FABLEd reviews.
HD, I'm in chapter 19 on crushing getting my last few trophies. I, like you, have never seen textures pop in.
Don't be stupid. Installs haven't been around since the inception of PC gaming, because not all older computers came equipped with hard drives. I played games directly from floppy disc, both 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" on an old Tandy computer. When all 360s have HDDs and the games routinely outsize DVD9 capacity, you will see plenty of mandatory installs.
By the way, how does an install or lack thereof, affect getting your money's worth? It has zero impact on the game expe...
If so explain Uncharted. At least you can try to make one intelligent post on this thread.
Are devs that require installs on PCs lazy?
Do games exclusive to the 360 and PC, like Gears of War require an install on the PC? If so, what's the difference between the PC and the console? All PCs have an HDD, but not all 360s do, which tells me that if all 360s had HDDs, then they would also have mandatory installs. (In case anyone doesn't know, GeoW requires 12GB of harddrive space on the PC)
It's only a response to 360 fanboys trying to put a negative spin on PS3 installs, because they've got nothing else to rag on. This and the RROD issue are the biggest flaming sources around. So why not throw fuel on the fire? A mandatory install takes less time than a mandatory RROD replacement. See, it's easy to flame. I welcome the installs. Remember failure of the ODD is not covered by the 3 year RROD warranty, so anything that helps lengthen the life is OK with me.
Never played Mass Effect, have you?
'Sony makes it MANDATORY and has made you beleive these istalls are the norm, when they are NOT.'
No, the developers make it mandatory, which explains games like Uncharted, which need no install. If you are going to flame, at least try to sound intelligent doing it.
There are forecasts and projections in every industry. Why should this one be different?
Did you know stock markets globally sell these things called futures?
Don't like forecast threads, don't read them.
'i WISH Mass Effect had an install for the 360. i own the game, and the ridiculous framerates and load times would have been all but extinguished had the game had the option for an install.'
Fig, could you possibly mean you would have preferred a single 10 minute install, even if mandatory, over getting to spend 30 cumulative minutes (if not longer) on the elevator, and another 30 cumulative minutes (if not longer) decontaminating upon entering the ship?
Don't like required installs? Then don't buy a PS3. But that's a damn stupid reason to miss out on some kickass exclusives. I didn't let the fear of RROD stop me from buying a 360. Again, the exclusives are worth the risk.
And for all you X-onlys, why are you b!tching about something that doesn't affect you? It's like the PSonlys b!tching about the cost of XBL.
Installs are here to stay, and most likely coming to a 360 near you.
In fact, it's the fut...
'the life of that cat is no where near the value of a person and NEVER will be'
Can you support that statement with evidence not manufactured by a human?
Ya gotta love those 'Old World' sensibilities.
'It is either you approve the killings of these animals or not'
In your world maybe. This has got to be one of the stupidest things I've read, and this is N4G, so that's saying a lot. Only the most foolish and extremist people see things as being completely one way or another. Most things in life are shades of gray, not black and white.
'Are you seriously trying to point out that the life of an animal is equal to that of a human being?'
Why not....
The games have potential, but I have a hard time believing DLC is a system seller. I know Gears and L4D are purchases for me, but I already own a 360.
