My niece likes Gears of War 2! That surprised me...she's an artist and obviously has a bit of a violent streak. Hope her fiancee is ready for it!

Basically it started as a remake but got reworked quite a bit apparently. I saw an interview where they said that because the original publisher was busy with other stuff they didn't get the usual memos about what they needed to do, so they got to do what they wanted....then they got picked up by Atari and the game was practically done by then.
So yeah, remade and expanded. Should be a demo in March.
Apparently the second part of the game (the new part) is 10 hours and takes place on a ship!
I hope they do well, after all this time. I'm also hoping Vin Diesel's other game The Wheelman is fun.
Yeah I've played the demo and it did feel strange, though not terribly so. I do still prefer the COD 'feel'.
I can't wait until it is out and we can talk about other games! Still with all the hype I'm glad it is up to scratch. I've got a list of games to still play, but I'll get to this one eventually.
It's a shame about the missing co-op and the lack of split screen though. I know there was some talk a long while ago about a patch, but not sure if that's going to happen.
Screw that. Single player games are much more immersive than just a bunch of fragfests.
I loved Age of Empires 2 (even tried it on PS2, which had problems but was still fun). I don't play PCs anymore so I hope that some great Age of Empires games now come out on console.
I'm not that heavily into the Halo universe myself, but they are good fun and I've played all the games and enjoyed them. I'm looking forward to what they do with Halo ODST.

The first Condemned was sooo under-rated. Wierd ending though.
I'm going to be soooo happy when Killzone 2 is finally released and we can stop talking about how it affects all gaming so profoundly.
People will play it, some will love it, some might not, but it will fade into memory and we can discuss OTHER games for a change. I'm already bored of Killzone 2 and I haven't even played the whole game yet.
MS and Sony are both doing fine and we are better off with both of them, and they will both try to counter each other, like...
I think the game was impressive when it came out on the PC but by the time it got to the 360 it wasn't as amazing...
Repetitive environments annoy me, even if the gameplay is solid.

Yeah the first game was good for the slow-mo and scares but being stuck in an office building the whole game sucked.
Glad there is more variety, but with games like Dead Space out now, I doubt the scares are as amazing. Still it is nice that a shooter goes beyond the usual 'shooting' and adds some other element to it besides glossier presentation.
Scary little phsychotic girls that don't die...amazing that they can be more freaky than baddies with glowing eyes and ...

Yeah but the author isn't married to you...his wife lost the taste for it when the kids came along and the 'next gen' consoles weren't to her taste.
