I really thought Need For Speed needed to die off, but it looks like a little re-invention can help. At least the sim people will be happy but others may be confused..
Max Payne games combine action with story in a way few other games have: successfully! I can't wait to play the third one and have been hoping for this announcement for awhile!
Bubbles to the lot of you for being reasonable!!!
@ Dark General
Well I enjoy interesting discussion....
While what the 360 exec said seems to be true, gloating is never really good form. I suspect Sony people would do the same thing, but still not something I like to see.
Nintendo got arrogant and Sony entered and took over, then Sony got arrogant and MS and Nintendo took over again...
It does seem to be true that PS2 owners are turning to 360 over PS3 most often according to several games store managers I've chatted with, but the PS3 is certainly not a failure.
...
Hulk Hogan! Andre the Giant! Nostalgia...
I loved Andre the Giant in Princess Bride too...classic.
It mostly think so. The Club was a bit too 'pointless' (despite being about getting points...). This game feels more like the usual progression so you are getting somewhere, even if it's just to the end, but also has that arcade shoot things quick challenge that The Club had.
Some succeed more than others: Dark Sector didn't do as well in the 'fun' stakes, even though it copied Gears too. By mixing aspects of Gears and the Club and making it pretty and easy to play in bites, it does stand out as a good game, despite the 50 Cent tag.
Looks more like a 60s rocket!
The game is like the Club mixed with the Bourne game....fun stuff but no RE5 or Gears Of War.
Forget the 50 Cent aspect...it's a good game without him and probably would have been better without him honestly....
Well those who used to buy from Play-Asia are out of luck now: the Aussie $ last year meant you could get games for around $60 AUD. No so anymore....so I guess the local retailers will benefit from that at least.
No such thing as too many....(looks at all the unfinished games in cupboard...'sigh')
I read an interesting piece in this month's Australian 360 mag where a writer argues that the recession might mean that consoles skip a generation and we get to keep our PS3s and 360s for longer.
That would mean we don't need to upgrade so often at least! More money for games!
Hell yeah, I'm not spending my government gift on the industries that don't deserve it....
Gotta keep gaming alive! (So a few banks die or a few auto companies go under...we need subsidies for games!!!)
Me too...when I rush a game I feel like I've missed out on the exploration. With graphics as good as they are these days I like exploring.
I can't wait to start on this one...RE4 was one of my all time favourite games. Now I just need time!
I know it is more action-oriented and I do miss the old style, but I like both. Maybe they can do a retro version next as it is a different genre now. Then again, if it takes as long as RE5 did to come out, then maybe not...
One of my favourite all time games is Resident Evil 4. Not sure what it'd be like playing it after being used to the 'this' generation games, but at the time it was divine. I still like it, despite its limitations.
Hey, Gears of War was inspired by it....
Well the Nazi Zombies mode in COD: WAW was a pretty cool addition...felt a lot like Left 4 Dead sometimes.
Well the running zombies in Left 4 Dead were a bit scary....but they had the rage virus or something...
I think you mean photos? I don't think they'll send their actual collectors stuff...
Hmmm....just to add fuel to the fire, one 'expert' sees Killzone as cheating (using 'smoke and mirrors' in the graphical arena, and not truly that graphically innovative:

I've only played a bit and wasn't too impressed with what I saw, but that's me.
Any new engine is good in my book...the idea of competition push...
