I tend to find that boss battles (except maybe a final confrontation) really pull you out of both the narrative and the actual flow of gameplay.
Either they are terribly unrealistic for a game trying to go for realism (eg. a shooter where you are against a normal human antagonist but he takes more hits than anyone else) or they just end up being memorise attack/defence moves and repeat (over and over) or quick time events.
Games these days should flow, not ...
I don't think a boss battle where you have to keep fighting the same boss (even if he 'transforms') over and over is fun. It's like "man how many times has this guy gotta die?".
I wish more games would put in a map editor like that...it was fun to create and I think some of the community maps were better than the game's to be honest!
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? Jurassic Park? Awesome.
I'd like to see them release the remote controlled car separately! I don't even want that game, so it wouldn't be the best LE in my book.
But the car does seem to escalate what Collector's Editions may have in the future...Already we have AUD$150 price tags for special Boxes with cards (Assassin's Creed Codex version).
I wonder if they got money to pimp those cars in DLC?
I don't know...it works in films- like with James Bond.
Maybe it's different with games though. The next Max Payne looks strange.
Ah these were great in the day, playing with my wife before kiddies came along.
It's good they are taking some older games and giving them a spit and polish for this gen.
Now if only bloody Silicon Knights would do that with Eternal Darkness...
I really like the look of the Halo Reach console...if it is more silver than gray...can't really tell.
Anyone seen one in the flesh?
lol...bubbles.
Not cartoony enough?
Well they'd obviously have to adapt it to work with arm waving and body movement...
Mario on Kinect would be great! Not going to happen though...
I didn't read it that we NEED to buy it but that we need to see it for what it is and how it will help the industry as a whole.
There's so much hate for it when really it is a different market.
Well Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is getting some mysterious DLC for PS3 owners only too, but I tend to agree that both consoles should get all DLC, so at most it should be timed exclusivity.
Isn't the idea making $?? I guess if MS and Sony are paying $ for the exclusive rights then they are...
I don't have a problem with Kinect. If there isn't anything that inspires me I simply won't buy it.
As for the more $ coming into gaming because of casual or non-gamers buying the new tech, I wonder if the dollar train has left the station now that Wii has been out for so long capturing those buyers???
This really looks atmospheric. There are really some interesting titles on XBLA these days.
Activision is the new EA.
Does anyone else think that Daniel Craig looks like he came from a Wax Museum in the new trailer? Hopefully they polish his look a bit...
This focus on 'teamplay' in multiplayer is great for the hardcore who like leveling up and being serious competitors but people who just want to muck around with mates or family seem to no longer matter.
Yeah it looks like the Goldeneye remake is the only one that will fit that bill, but it's on Wii and many would rather play with wireless controllers on 360 or PS3. Shame it's not being remade on those two as well.
This game really does look fun, but the review mentions that you need to really look out for the short cuts. I remember Star Wars Pod Racer for the 64 and it could get frustrating if you didn't get it just right.
I wonder if that'd be the case here too. But it does look really fun.
