YES! Enough just making an online experience that is for the quick shots and yay for making something different for a change!
Seriously, do you think it'll be that different???
Love the kill video! Looks like a lot of fun
I'm glad smaller devs can get their games on XBLA instead of having to dump them like so many have!
This one looks much more interesting that I first thought actually.
How come? I thought it looked a bit interesting...though to be honest I'd rather Faith and some of the others much more.
Hydrophobia looked to be gone a year ago, so it is good it found a way to make it out. Hopefully it does well so other smaller devs think of doing the same.
I think this might have been a great idea by the devs to get it onto XBLA instead of as a full retail disc as originally planned.
I see this as the way smaller devs should get their stuff saved from all too frequent cancellations because they aren't backed by huge publishers.
I think games like Theseis, Darkest of Days (not released in PAL territories), Faith and a 45, The Crossing, Crusaders: Invasion of Constantinople, Salvation, Rainy Woods, To End A...
I don't think there's a change yet, but it does seem like Ubi is trying to incorporate things that gamers these day seem to like (mass destruction and shooting!) instead of focus on the assassination in close stuff.
Not a bad thing if done right and with some restraint.
Yeah it sort of looks like a "tank" section like you'd find in the old COD WW2 games, rather than Battlefield games.
I'm not sure how destructible the environment will be though?
The tank does look really cool in the video, but I do think that there may be too much focus on integrating new modern gameplay stuff to try and keep the interest of gamers used to modern warfare shooters.
When they do AC 3, where will they go? If they go back in time or even in the near future how will they incorporate flight and tanks? Or will they go back to basics? I don't see that happening.
So does that mean we'll be stuck in modern times? ...
Don't forget Timesplitters and Serious Sam! They have Egypt levels too :)
I miss Timesplitters...
Yeah I thought when the Cold War ended that would be it for Ruskies as baddies, but no...
I think there are too many "modern" games...look at the new Devil May Cry...it's stylistic but set more modern.
The success of games like Assassin's Creed and Red Dead Redemption, not to mention the RPGs that are less fantastical but still medieval show that history provides huge potential for exciting games. But no, most games these days are based modern or near future. yawn...I live in that world already.
Everybody got down on MOH and COD...
To be honest I wasn't a fan of ODST, and worried they were just making this to get extra $ off the fans. It is really good to see that there has been real effort put into it and that it is something that will last.
Rare these days...
They probably consider it too risky most of the time. Why take the risk when, as the author points out, everyone will still buy the next COD/ Modern Warfare game?
And while publishers are in it for the $, the consumers shouldn't just buy whatever they are given but maybe consider putting their $ where the dev has put extra effort for the gamer. I won't be buying MOH or Black Ops, but I did get Halo Reach.
Another good example of this is the $ publis...
Actually I'd be interested to know what the game plays like on Move...
I wonder if Endwar is better or worse than this one...or just different?
I wish we had a Rome Total War, or Age of Empires type strategy game for the 360.
I wasn't a fan of ODST at all. This one looks to be much better and is getting great reviews everywhere I look. I'm sure someone will find something negative to say, but great way for Bungie to end their association.
When I saw it being played I thought it looked a lot like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles style play :)
Still not sure I want to play this one, though the demo was pretty good.
Yes I agree...the single player had better still be the meat and potatoes. But the multi keeps looking better. I thought it would be a tacked on rubbish multi. Not so.
