Innovation in portrayal of a mythological creature imo isn't much innovation though. The game 'style', 'gameplay', or structure is.

I wouldn't say God of War is that innovative...good maybe but innovative? No. Resistance 2...no. Killzone...no. Uncharted is excellent, but innovative? Not really either...just really well paced and really well scripted and really well made.
Heavy Rain is innovative maybe though.

And more importantly: who at Disney thought that keeping the Tron game was a good idea over the promising looking new Pirates of the Caribbean game which they abandoned? That pirates game looked great!
Some loved it, some hated it...much like some loved Heavy Rain and others hated it.
Well not exclusives so much maybe...Mind you I didn't think the PS3 exclusives were my thing either.
I have to say that the game I'm most excited about next year is Uncharted 3 and a few of the smaller ones like Cursed Crusade and First Templar.
Maybe the next Assassin's Creed if it is announced, but I'd like them to take their time and really do it well.
It's good to include other platform picks as so many people have more than one, even if they mostly game on one console.
I agree the PC had a strong showing this year and PS3's God of War and Heavy Rain were popular, but probably not as big as SC 2...
I think it is good when the GOTY is a game that is on both PS3 and 360! (Well will be on PS3 anyway) No fanboy fighting then!

Well yeah if they are just adding a number to make more cash from a safe bet, then I agree. But others get better more advanced gameplay.
Well those issues are important, and especially the glitchers. I really don't see why sniper guns are still in these games, they are that annoying.
The biggest problem I have though is the team focus of so many of the multi games because then you have people who have played for days on end, or longer, get up you because you are on their team and aren't as good or don't choose to follow their dictatorial directions.
