Well since I've never played the originals, and Oblivion was the first game to get me to play an RPG, I'm thinking this will be excellent when I get the chance to play!

Even if they joined, the competition would be gone and then so would the need for price cuts and innovation.
Better the situation we have now, even if there are die-hards on both sides.
I'm not sure if everyone would prefer the PS3 or not, but if they were the same price it would sure make it a real killer battle! Don't see it happening any time soon though...
What about game sales? Did you read that part? Game sales is where the money is made...

Still I think in 2009 game sales will improve too.
Not going to happen before Christmas. I remember reading that the Wii is making a few dollars per console sold, the 360 is breaking even, and the PS3 is losing money each console sold.
They are going to have to find a way to make it cheaper so they can offer a price drop.

TOTALLY AGREE....at least with reverse compatibility. I can't understand why my PS3 dropped that ability. My 360 plays plenty of backwards compatible games but not my PS3...WTF?

Actually it would suck if we didn't have a choice of consoles. I like a bit of difference. I know Sony isn't doing well now, but Xbox didn't do that well the first gen and so I'm sure Sony will recover.

I have a PS3. I only tend to use it for blu ray or exclusives, and favour my 360, but it still is a cool machine, no doubt.
But two quick points I want to make:
1) the price is killing it. It needs a price cut, but I don't think they can afford it. A local games' store manager mate has told me that this Christmas season he has only sold a couple, with 360 and Wiis doing very very well. That's only one store, true, but if other are doing the same then that's not go...

This is one of those games that just came out a bit too late when I've spent all I can for now (just too many top games out now).
Again, why is it considered smart for everyone to release their top games this time of year, making us pick and choose when if they all staggered the release more we might be able to afford them at top price?

Well whatever he said didn't get anywhere...But by the name I'd say he's saying how wonderful PSN is compared to Live. The PS3 online isn't free of these problems either.
The problem is our markets aren't as big or as profitable. And our markets (at least here in OZ) have crappier internet infrastructure.

I don't think the racist, sexist, whatever abuse will be less or stop until the Microsoft real-time censor is implemented.
But will it work or will normal words be bleeped out? Like on Xbox.com if we write a game is on sale at the retail store D*** Smith, it bleeps out the D*** part.
