I just hope that EA keeps up trying new IPs....I think people will eventually get to those games when they have the cash, but by then EA will have missed out on the big $$$.
There were way too many games released at the end of this year, which means only a few will get bought.
I wish publishers would learn that the games market is no longer kids getting pressies at Christmas and stagger their releases a lot more. Then maybe decent games like these two will get p...
Yeah I hope this game gets made. A lot of people liked Black. I was a bit 'meh' but I think a second one will build on the first and change some of the things that were missing.
That's also why Killzone 2 should be better than the first: if they learn from their mistakes there's no reason why Black 2 or Killzone 2 can't be so much better.

It does deserve GOTY imo. Should be enough for you Metal Gear purists (or zealots).
I think the game looks like a lot of fun and I LOVE the location. So sick of US free-roaming driving games.

I agree, having read the reviews. It sounds like it would be great on that list. Some amazing XBLA games for families.
Yes MGS4 is amazing for the choice in how to approach a mission: play COD4 by shooting, or Splinter Cell by using gadgets and stealth.
The loooong self-indulgent cut scenes and melodramatic story and long voice recorded-only back stories for the beauties, is not going to impress everyone (not me anyway), but the game is a classic, no doubt.
What no Kung Fu Panda? My son loves that movie! (Don't know about the game...)
I'm glad that Carcassonne and Age of Booty (XBLA games) are there along with biggies like Rock Band and Banjo.
My kids and I really enjoy playing together, though my 5 year old hates losing any competitive games. Lego games are always good for co-op fun though.
I think more parents should try playing video games with their kids...it might lose some of the stigma it sometimes...
LOL...well I'd say it would be on a big kids and parents play together list! I'm sure my son would love to chainsaw me....
This year had so many titles on all consoles and PC it would have been a challenge to do a top 20 list!

I probably don't agree with Super Smash Bros either as it's just another Super Smash even if you can now wave a wiimote around.
A great idea to do a top 12 games of the year with ALL consoles and even the PC in there. Not everyone is going to agree, but it does represent a diversity I've not seen before.
I'm also glad not to see GTA IV there. MGS4 for all its faults (and yes it does have them!) deserves ...

A strong story focus would really be good. It is just a teaser, but looks promising.

Could be good. I'm so glad to see EA investing in new IPs lately. They are definitely heading in the right direction (and I used to be pretty anti-EA).
Oh...and keep in mind, journalists have to get attention for people to read their stuff so titles are always as dramatic or sensationalist as possible.
People just need to realise that then see what the content actually is.

Yeah you get sick of the doom and gloom stuff all at once, but the same happens when there's bad news for 360. Tons of articles come out doing the same about Microsoft.

Actually, the article author made a point I hadn't really thought of about the PS2 sales helping them financially. I'd love to know how much profit it still brings them. But is the PS2 taking sales away from the PS3 too, because it is too expensive for gamers? I'm not sure.

Totally with you there. More hack n slash and big beasts (yawn). Obviously that's the staple of the game, but how about story that draws us in?
Uncharted 2's trailer on the other hand draws you in!
I loved the first game and hope this one is even better...but the graphics need more polish from what I can see. Some background shots just look 'drawn'. This is just an intro trailer, so it should all be good.
It looks to be keeping the humour intact, which was one of my favourite aspects of the first.
This and Heavy Rain are the PS3 games I'm holding out for! Maybe Killzone 2 if it's WAY better than the original. God of War...meh. It's all the same.
The quality of the games too....much better overall. So you have a lot of GOOD games released at once.
Too much choice can be a bad thing :)
I don't want to see less new IPs though. If the recession makes publishers go to only sequels all the time, it's gonna get boring!
