For instance, you can't just look at the graphics and say Uncharted scores better in that department. Sure I agree, it looks better than Gears, but remember that Gears released over a year ago and that the visual standards weren't as high as they are now. It's about the impact it had at the time, and with Gears PERHAPS the impact was bigger than Uncharted now.
Also, it's all about FUN. You can't just put the different aspects of the games side by side like you did and come to t...
Only thing that bothers me is that it's supposedly not all that lengthy without the sidequests. And the sidequests are lame and repetitive, atleast, according to the 1UP lads and ladies.
Can anyone that has played the game either confirm or deny this?
The game looks great and seems like the RPG I've been longing for a long time, I just wish it was a bit more polished than it is now judging from the recent videos. The combat looks solid enough and the enviroments...
Double post.
But you did say that people should stop comparing the game to Gears, Which I did, and I mearly explained why I compared it to Gears and to point out that there's nothing wrong with comparing it to Gears for the reasons I mentioned above.
Also, saying things like: "but GEARS copied killswitch" out of the blue does come across as fanboy behaviour and provokes the typical pointless fanboy rants.
As for the active reload, If you leave out the bit where you ...
I'm mearly comparing the gunplay aspect of the games. Which is very similar and even the developer stated they liked Gears and that was their motivation for the gunplay in Uncharted. Also, you immediately have to turn this into a fanboy fight, don't you?! Who cares who implemented this cover stuff first? I don't, I just refered to Gears because that's the only game I played that has very similar gunplay mechanics as Uncharted. I never played Killswitch so why would I refer to that game?!
The roll is much tighter and the dash just looks plain silly. I know, it seems like a minor detail, but this is bugging the hell out of me!
Why did they even do this, I don't get it?!
Graphics are disappointing, but the combat, sans that dash move, is definitely awesome!
I just watch all the reviews (or read them if I'm not too lazy) and draw my own conclusions. Some reviewers might point out stuff that I had overlooked (or just wasn't able to see) and can be helpfull in my decision.
Reviewers are there to give an insight on the game and are mearly a source of information rather than a final verdict. You don't go out and buy a 1500$ TV after one person tells you how great it is do you? No, you gather as much info and opinions as you can and dra...
The gunplay is spot on. It feels very similar to Gears which is a good thing. It doesn't seem all that exciting when watching the videos, but when you actually play the game yourself it's very satisfying. The only thing I'm missing in the gunplay is the active reload like in Gears. It seems as an insignificant thing on first sight, but it's a very cool gameplay mechanic.
The platforming in this game is a nice break of the gunplay but it isn't anything out of this world. I would...
Looking at the previews of this game I really am excited about this one! I just love action RPG's and with Bethesda's input this game basicly can't go wrong.
I love the fact that it takes place in this apocalyptic enviroment and not in the 'trendy' medieval period with nothing but forests and caves to explore. And the inclusion of more 'high-tech' weapons instead of swords and daggers really intrigues me.
Bing it on Bethesda! :)
When the first gameplay was shown I was stoked for this game, but that hype has sort of worn off the closer we got to the release of this game. The lack of variety and retarted A.I. was something that worried me as time went on and unfortunately those things haven't been improved on in the retail version.
I really wanted this game to be great, but it just doesn't seem to meet my expectations and the lack of polish just confirms my choice to not buy this game.
I h...
And didn't we just get another update?! Though I guess they're not releasing another update without a good reason.
Edit: Actually, after reading the post above I remembered I did have had an issue with the SISAXIS functionality. For some reason it was 'stuck' on steering to the left and I couldn't get it back to normal untill I gave the controller a good ol' fashion beating. Now it works fine again.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Lol, I think I did. Must be something I ate today! ;)
But so far NG2 doesn't impress me at all. Especially considering NG on the Xbox pretty much redefined the action/adventure genre.
The enviroments are just so bland and the graphics as a whole are not all that impressive really by todays standards. Gameplay is still hella tight, but I fear it's just not going to have the same impact on the genre as NG had.
I'll still get it though, regardless.
I think it wouldn't get half as much attention if it weren't an exclusive (or timed exclusive for that matter). It does look generic to me, yes it has some cool ideas, but nothing worth getting excited over imo.
That said, I'll reserve my final judgements untill I've tried the demo atleast. Maybe that will grab my interest a bit more.
Here's for hoping.
I want this game now! I have a feeling it won't quite live up to the hype but I don't care. I need my (non turn-based, non JRPG) RPG fix and I think ME will be solid enough to fulfill my needs.
This is the game I got a 360 for and it's nearly being released! Can't wait!
When you try to pull off one of those video challenges, all of a sudden people start getting in your way. I don't know where they come from, but as soon as you try to do this challenge the pedestrians just keep coming and coming, deliberately getting in your way and causing you to bail over and over. It's just so damn annoying!
Another thing that bothered me was the S.K.A.T.E challenges. The differences of the tricks on the analog stick are just too subtle. When you try to pull...
It's just a timeline. Just like your parents are last gen and you are current gen and your kids will be next gen.
So in that regard, the Xbox 360 no doubt qualifies as a 'next gen console'.
Also, looking at the games on the 360 and comparing them to PS3 games, I see no reason why anyone should think the 360 isn't on par with the current gaming standards.
So I'm glad I got a 60 GB PS3 for a good price. I never owned a PS2 and now I can pick up some PS2 classics for a good price and play them afterall.
How the hell guys like you manage to have as many bubbles as me is beyond me.
The N4G system sucks! There, I said it.
Most of those reviews have some very valid points and because of those 'issue's' many people just don't like the game while other people might like the game despite it's merits. It's not just the reviewers that have been disappointed but also the gamers and that's what counts in the end, isn't it?
I know you have a crush on this game, but just because YOU don't agree with the majority of the reviews doesn't mean everyone should just decline the reviews and get the game ASAP! ...
