How can a developer like that, that was involved with games regarded by many as the best games ever made, end up in a project like Blacksite?!
I mean, it should've been pretty obvious from the get go that it wasn't going to be anything above mediocre. The concept is just your average alien shooter.
How can you not see this coming?!
MS seems to be focussing solely on JRPG's. Ok, we get some western RPG love, but the main focus seems to be on JRPG's.
Sure, the 360 should have a good JRPG library as well, but don't neglect the western RPG's just because you want to steal Sony's JRPG thunder.
I also own a PS3, and I get the feeling that Sony isn't that keen on western RPG's either. So it's pretty rare for a good western RPG to show up and that really saddens me. :(
Definitely the most satisfying racer I've experienced in a while. It looks pretty decent as well. That game didn't get the attention it deserves imo. Probably because of the steep learing curve. You can turn on all the asists though, but that completely ruins the game.
Uncharted and R&C are getting great reviews, I don't know how the hell they are underrated?!
Other than that, I think the ratings are pretty much spot on. Uncharted and R&C in my book are A...
I'd like to see some of those as well. Not every 360 owner likes JRPG's you know?!
Do you really think MS goes about all the review sites and pays them money to give better scores? That's just silly.
First of all, any site that has proof of this would've made this public as this would've made them rich as hell. They would've gained a lot more money than MS would ever give them for this so called bribing!
Also, just because the 360 had a better line-up this year doesn't mean that all the better rated games are payed off? How about Mario Galaxy f...
What else can they say though? Yes, we fired him for that reason and thereby we lose all credibility?
They will deny this as long as humanly possible. On the other hand, it is possible it's just bad timing. But I think that's a bit of a stretch.
Also, this doesn't mean Gamespot have actually been payed off for certain. Eidos could've just complained about the tone of his review and said that they would stop sponsoring Gamespot if they didn't fire him. It by all m...
Atleast he's not been fired for being gay!
Sorry, lame joke. Couldn't resist. :P
Needless to say, I'm stoked for this game!
Games like this don't come around very often, so It's always something special when one finally does make it's way through the crowd of usual suspects. Can't wait!
I just would've prefered them using a dedicated engine for the game, especially since the TRL engine doesn't seem all that impressive. Tweaking an engine will only get you so far.
But atm, I'm in no position to discard this engine. I just have the feeling it isn't the best decision to go about this way. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.
Either way, even if it's only an HD version of the former installments, it'll still beat most game out there! ;)
I suggest people to take a look at Gamespot's E3 stagedemo of this game. It looks decent enough and considering what you can do in the game it's pretty impressive.
Only thing that worries me is repetetive enviroments. I hate that and I really hope this terrain deformation isn't just limited to the rocky surface seen in the footage shown.
All in all, I'm keeping this on my radar!
And if all this is true, Eidos shot themselves in the foot with this "stunt" of theirs.
Unless they can prove that the reviewer has an agenda against them or the game, which is quite difficult to say the least, because he's just expressing his personal opinion.
That said, I can understand if Eidos is pissed, because of all the advertising/sponsoring on Gamespot. I think that just shows that you can't sponsor review sites that review your own games.
I don't know, TRL wasn't very impressive from any technical standpoint. I hope that wasn't akin to the engine.
Either way, I'm still extremely stoked for this game. Bring it on!
Reviewers always have different preferences, and being the human beings we all are, they can get their emotions in the way and sometimes give a game a bit of an extreme score, rather it be too high or too low (according to the averaging scores).
This doesn't mean they are bought out by MS everytime a 360 game get's a good score. I've seen people mention this and they really need to wake up and smell the coffee.
Sony just didn't have that good of a year (not as ba...
There's only a handfull of movies these days I enjoy watching (Ritchie, Tarantino films mainly). So I don't even buy/rent any regular DVD's.
That said, it's nice to have it there. In the actual console, not some ugly external player.
And it was the same old corridor-fest. Please guys, use your imagination a bit here!
Or just stick to Condemned! ;)
But yes, if that last trailer is any indication of how the games running on that engine will look like, we are in for a serious treat!
The sense of scale is just crazy! It just shows what post-processing effects can do when implemented correctly.
;)
A GTA game is always something special to look out for. This game is my most wanted by a long shot.
For the last two years they've been boasting about how great this game of theirs is and how innovative it will be and bla bla bla bla.
Yes, the game looks awesome. So how about you actually release the damn game and just shut your clapper already!
/rant.
Can't wait for the second one. Graphically and animation wise, it looks kind of underwhelming at this point. But I don't care as much as this game is being made for all the right reasons.
I don't think I've ever seen such a devoted and inspiring developer like Molyneux. Just listening to him talking makes you excited about this game. That said, the game has to live up to the promise this time, or he's going to loose a lot of credibility.
I for one hope Fable 2 do...
