Simple as that. Just see them as just another source of information and make up you own mind based on the different opinions/facts.
They can be usefull, but they're not almighty!
The Glaive is a lame weapon, atleast, the way it's used. The puzzles are even more tedious. It just doesn't look like much fun.
Perhaps maybe the boss fights will be interesting, and the graphics are nice enough. But other than that, it's just not all that appealing.
And I know this has been said a million times before, but they should've sticked to the original concept.
But wasn't great either imo. It has it's moments though, there were a few modest "wow's" here and there but not as epic as many would want you to believe, imo.
The opening scene must have been the lamest ever, just being dropped down like that and having to go through this boring jungle level doesn't help either. After that the campaign definitely get's better and better. But not great unfortunately.

It's a bit early though, as Uncharted hasn't even been released here in Europe yet. Though, for me person...
I think the actual software sales will be great, it just won't shift all that many additional consoles I think, and it doesn't need to. GT5, GOW3, Killzone 2 etc will all take care of that.
MGS4 can then actually profit from that with some swift marketing, and "lure" some of the more casual gamers in that, at that point, already own a PS3. I just don't see them purchasing a PS3 especially for MGS4 as they would for GOW3, GT5, Killzone 2 etc.
Ofcourse it will move some consoles, it just won't move consoles in such a significant way. You are refering to people spending many hours on the forums, discussing games. These are mostly refered to as 'hardcore-gamers'.
But the mass appeal won't be there, and that's the whole point of this article.
FPS's are very pick up and play, as are racing and hack&slash games. Stealth games are just too "complicated" for the masses. They don't have the patience for games like this.
It just doesn't appeal to them in that way. MGS4 doesn't have that 'hook' games like God of War 3, GT, Halo 3 etc have.
This isn't a game for the masses, atleast I don't think it is here in Europe anyway.
I think a game like God of War 3 does have the potential to shift many, many PS3's. Same goes for Killzone 2 whether it lives up to the hype or not.
I just don't see a stealth game moving all that many systems, though I'm sure the game itself will sell well enough.
Edit @ below: I sincerely doubt it, though I don't mind been proved wrong. I guess will just have to...
I mean, I know people get all excited about this game when seeing this fantastic footage and all and I really hope this game will be the new "messiah of FPS's". But in all honesty, it has a long way to go yet in proving so.
The AI as you said needs to be there, story of some sorts anyway (though not that much of a dealbreaker in FPS imo), controls/feel, squad command, co-op?, level design/variety etc etc.
This all has yet to be seen. Not saying it won't...
It'll be an EA console. Imagine that!
The horror! :P
The game looks great, has some great atmosphere but that's all we know so far and Guerilla's track record isn't all that amazing either. We've barely seen a segment of a level that didn't show anything revolutionary and we don't even know how well it controls/feels (say what you want, but the feel of the controls is essential in FPS's). Therefor I have to laugh at people already calling this game the best FPS ever made. Based on what exactly?
That all said, sony knows this is t...
Different angle, same level, same footage, been there...
I've seen all the gameplay videos, walkthroughs everything. Why would I want to see this all over again even if it's slightly polished.
Come on, it's about time they show us some fresh enviroments already. It would also help awaken the hype a bit again.
I mean, if people start reposting the same images over and over again, it's kind of an indication that the game is loosing momentum and from ...
How many times are you blokes gonna post these, enough is enough already. Come on!
I know we're all eagerly awaiting new footage of this game, but this is just insanity. Everytime I fall for the same trap thinking they've finally released some NEW screens, just to find out it's the same bloody batch of screenshots over and over again!
OMG, how did this get approved anyway. These screens were posted just a few days ago...again!
/rant. :P
The limiting factor here is MS rushing this project, not giving Bioware the chance to properly polish it, or not caring.
Another thing is the gameplay. The gameplay just isn't as deep as it should've been and you don't need tons of power to realise this. Last time I checked, games "last-gen" did just fine without all the processing power available "this-gen". It's just about what you're aiming to achieve, making the right trade-offs and what you spend time a...
I refuse to buy this crappy adapter, I just bridge the connection through my laptop. Works fine.
My PS3 on the other has all this build in, works like a charm. Why MS can't do this is beyond me. Just like that flaming play&charge kit MS wants you to purchase just to recharge the damn controller! My PS3 charges it for me, all I have to do is connect it with a USB cable and voila.
MS really hasn't thought this through properly at all. Although, if plenty of peo...
Lol, that header cracks me up! :D
Hmmn wait...no actually. That's still the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
The thing is, playing a violant videogame CAN actually be that final impulse some sicko needs to comit these horrible 'incidents', yes. But the point is that this sicko WILL get this impulse anyway. Whether it be from watching horror movies, seeing war footage on CNN, getting beat up by his daddy etc.
So should we ban all these things aswell? Let's ban religion and politics aswell th...
But it's free, so I didn't expect anything major anyways.
It's very decent of them to take care of all the known issue's (albeit a bit late) in one patch though, plus they added a bonus in for free.
Not bad for those still interested in the game.
