Functional as in, providing some sense of satisfaction when slicing someone with a sword. But this game tends to go overboard on this and when you go to far it looses it's impact and becomes silly and comical.
And it does look like an Sigma expansion pack so far, graphics wise. But if you've played Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox and Sigma, you know there's a WHOLE LOT more to this game than just the combat (which is still probably the best out there). There are a flood of RPG levelin...
Gameplay wise it has also gotten quite the praise. One thing I worried about was the lack of story/narrative. But there does appear to be a decent narrative and plenty of story elements.
Crysis is on another level technically, nothing that comes even remotely close. Anyone who claims otherwise hasn't been paying attention or is too biased to notice. That said, I won't get this game as I'm not into PC gaming anymore.
And yeah, what the hell are they running the ga...
I enjoyed the previous installment, but it also annoyed the hell out of me. Definitely one of the most frustrating games I've played.
Either way, I'm keeping this on my radar.
If it's anything like the 2nd one, I'm in. That game was just pure awesomeness!
Can't stress enough how excited I am about this, now official, announcement! =D
Maybe he's disappointed in that it didn't turn out to be what he had hoped for.
Where fans of the series tend to get a bit carried away when the game turns out to be good, and get so excited that they'll perhaps be a bit too generous in the rating, the same applies when you're really disappointed in a game. You tend to be harsher with your judgement in those certain area's that didn't meet your expectations and that might be the case with this reviewer.
Also, dif...
It's possible, you know. I know that what you state probably does happen as well, but what also often happens is that when a reviewer expresses his own opinion which doesn't coinside with the fanboys of that certain game/console, he all of a sudden becomes an attention whore who doesn't know what he's talking about.
You could say that it's probably safer for a reviewer to go with the moot. Atleast people won't discard his reviews and stop reading his reviews after being refere...
People tend to get carried away easily with franchises that they are, in a way emotionally attached to.
Then again, perhaps if a game recaptures the essence of the game we all loved back in the day and provides that pleasant nostalgic feeling with a unique fresh perspective, maybe it does justify all these great scores, even if it isn't 'technically' all that great.
You can't even begin to imagine how excited I am about this news, although I thought this was sort of confirmed in lesser words not that long ago.
I feel Mass Effect often has a similar vibe as Invisible War (like at the Citadel). And although it falls a little short, exploration wise, compared to Invisible War, it's still a good temporary fix untill Deus-ex 3
I can't even begin to imagine how crazy this game could be! So excited about this one!
It was fun, but it had so much more potential, it isn't even funny anymore. MS rushed it out of the door as usual and prevented this game from getting definite AAA status.
If only they had implemented a decent SP campaign with a proper story atleast and some more varied missions/gameplay possibilities and it would have gotten solid 9's all over, I'm sure.
That said, the team behind this game is working on 2 other games, and hopefully one of them will expand on th...
I mean, I see the need for some to make the combat feel a bit more satisfying, but you can only go so far before it comes across as silly and almost comical. If you go too far it misses it's goal and becomes laughable rather than intimidating if you see what I mean.
Also, I wish they'd just implement the damn roll dodge again instead of this stupid dash move. It looks silly.
Forget about this silly excuse of a game and provide us some fresh info/media on the real game you're working on.
Everytime I see Rockstar on the news page I get excited for only to find out it's about this stupid nonsense again! :(
/rant.
Hope they delayed it give it a good polish. The pop-in was horrible in the footage I've seen and really detracts from the overal fairly pretty scenary at times.
The gameplay looks like a lot of fun and if the first one is anything to go by, this should definitely be worth it.
I myself can't give any of these games a score yet because I haven't completed/played them yet. But I'd say a 4 for AC is a bit harsh, perhaps. Even though I don't think very highly of it (at all).
But, he's entitled to his opinion, so that's fair enough.
I'm not saying this is a bad game, far from it. But on those two points the game really disappoints me. I'm sure the game is still great. The atmosphere is amazing and the graphics are, WOW! The textures are among the best I've ever seen, especially the skin textures. The combat is very well done I must say, very solid indeed.
In all honesty, to me, the game doesn't live up to the hype. But again, that doesn't mean it isn't a great game.
Oblivion was only overkill because the enviroments were all copy/paste. If all the different locals and enviroments were unique then I don't think it would feel like overkill at all. Like I said, I was hoping for something more in the lines of 'Deus-Ex: Invisible War', exploration wise. And that game released some years ago and wasn't even received that well by the masses. So I don't think I have set unrealistic expectations there.
I do realise that you can't have hundreds of p...
That's why I like RPG's, because of the exploration and such. But as I've understood, you can't actually explore most of the planets available, you are just given some background info about them and can't actually explore them.
Then there are planets that you CAN explore, but there aren't actually villages/towns to visit. I had really hoped that the planets you could visit had their own shops and places to go to etc, but that doesn't seem to be the case. That's really disappoi...
It created a genre and still remains king of the hill within that genre and perhaps even outside it aswell.
No other game has had such an impact on gaming as GTA3 had, it really was something else back in the day. I just couldn't believe that I could do all this stuff within this amazing 3D enviroment. I have literally spent hundreds of hours playing that game, no kidding!
Getting a new GTA is always something special, it's something I really look forward to with...
Lol, you sure know how to hand out a compliment! How about you read up on a few comments here also made by PS3 owners. Put's things in perspective, you know?!
Anyway, people need to realise that reviewers are also people (yes, actual human beings!) and have opinions just like you and me. Just because a certain opinion doesn't coinside with yours, doesn't mean that opinion is wrong or should be discarded.
So this guy obviously doesn't like the game, fair enough. A...
Still a great game and possible GOTY? I like to think so! :)
I'm really looking forward to this game, I'm quite disgusted that it lacks the necessary polish, but I managed with Oblivion so I think I'll cope with this one as well.
Speaking of Oblivion, that was the last RPG I played, so I'm really desperate for a solid RPG and it seems that Mass Effect is ATLEAST that.
Trailer next week?
Awesome!
