I never played online that much anymore, but as of late I've gotten in to them again. I didn't get COD 4 at the time exactly because it's just not worth paying 60 Euro's for a 5 hours campaign, it's just not done.
With MP, this all changes. It sucks I agree. SP should not have to suffer because of this but it does.
It annoys the hell out of me that SP is taking a backseat over MP even though I am into MP now myself. There's nothing like playing a fantastic SP adv...
My PS3 releases just as much, if not more hot-air than my 360. And the PS3's are doing just fine.
I mean, the PS3 even has the power supply in the box, the 360 has...well...we've all seen them. It can be done, it's juts pure cheap/lazy design on MS's behalf.
I know I'm sounding like an anti 360 preacher now, but it's just so annoying. All my previous consoles have had no problems at all. Gamecube, NES, SNES, hell...even my original Xbox had no problems whatsoever...
I have yet to hear of a single PS3 failing. The 360's design is faulty, get over it already. Nothing can prevent this, it is inevitable.
I've only gotten the RROD once, and so have all my mates that own a 360, except for one. That makes 6:1 failing including myself.
I treat my stuff with almost disturbing care, and yet it fails. The real problem here is that MS is sending back refurbished consoles instead of consoles with proper design.
And what I ...
But yeah, us Europeans don't mind paying more and waiting longer.[/sarcasm]
Though, I did only pay 50 Euro's for Halo 3 retail on launch day. I don't know why, but that was pretty sweet.
Also, I wanted to get COD4 for the 360 today and it's sold out everywhere. I'll probably have to go to a bigger city to find it. It's really popular it seems. I wonder what the sales are for 360 alone?!
But the environments were just to generic and boring to consider it as buy-worthy. The potential is there so I'll keep my eyes on this one, but I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.
The graphical detail was fantastic as were the character models. But the animations were clunky and awkward as hell and the object pick-up system they boasted clearly didn't deliver on the promise.
They said that if you picked up an object, Sam would actually pick up the object where he could as in real life. so if a chair was in an awkward position, he would reposition the chair in such a way, that he could pick it up naturally. This was not the case in the Ubidays demo video....
It's just a rough lay-out of the city and it's extremely old if you have been following the GTA forums. This has been established a long time ago and it's not all that interesting imo.
The actual map would be though.
I've also seen plenty of it. Just not any gameplay footage. This game has been all hype (back then), no show.
Let's just see what this game can do first, before I get all excited over it. That said, I really hope this game will deliver. I just love sci-fi adventure/shooters and if the tech-demo's are anything to go by, the art-direction is nothing short of stunning!
I just saw some actual gameplay footage, not so impressive after all.
I was just praising the graphics in the other thread posted earlier.
But then I watched some gameplay videos on youtube, and sadly it looks pretty bland. Especially the environments.
Too bad.
Though I did enjoy them plenty. But I'd take the Toca series over the Burnout series without hessitation.
Fortunately, we'll all get our racing needs fulfilled this year! :)
The focus appears to be on the commando FPS with generic environments. Even if they threw in a few bigger dino's, the balance would still be way off.
I guess I was initially hoping for an exciting adventure game with FPS elements taking place in epic and varied environments. Environments that WOW you, if you see what I mean. The approach is just not the right one imo.
Perhaps there's more to this game than meets the eye at first glance, but I don't think there is...
The Toca series is among my favorite out there, the diversity in these games is unmatched.
GT5 however has a slightly different approach. It's mainly focus is saloon vehicles and sports cars whereas the Toca series contains just about every vehicle class you can think of. That's what I love about the Toca series. Varied environments and vehicle classes and the ability to play it as a sim or arcade game. The options in there are endless and the graphics have always been great in...
Looks pretty damn good to me, especially this one:

Bullshots obviously, but the lighting and art is fantastic. Don't know about the gameplay though, but graphics look quite a bit better than Burnout imo.
Because that looks horrible! Resistance 1 trumps this bigtime.
Where are all the epic dino battles with HUGE dino's and varied mysterious enviroments?
What they've done here is basicly turned it into a standard FPS fighting commandos (*HUGE YAWN*). And oh yeah, they threw in a few tiny dino's. Not to mention the bland, generic environments.
Seriously, what's so exciting about this game? I just don't see it.
Lol, he has a point when he says that demanding a compensation is pointless and he does say that we have the right to complain when it's down (although he seems to contradict that statement in the end of his "artice"), but why would I care what some random internet guy has to say about this?
"Oh right! Because he says so, I'll stop complaining now!"
Ermm, I don't think so.
Not really though. Does this person think we're actually that stupid?
Another year, another stream of fake gameplay videos. Welcome to 2008! ;)
One thing that bothers me though is the fixed camera, I hate that. I want to be able to control it myself.
Though if it's done properly, it can live with it. Too Human's camera system for instance seems solid enough, so if it's like that I'll manage.
Fortunately I'm not as I own both! Nahnanananah! :P
That said and done, we need console exclusives. Without those we'll never see the true potential of either console.
